Apparently Matt Lauer's wife, Annette Roque, told Matt she would leave him if Natalie Morales became the co-host of Today so that he better do everything in his power to make sure it didn't happen. I don't know how Annette has stayed married to Matt this long. It seems to me that she has pretty much been worn out since day one of the marriage. There was that whole period of time where she didn't eat and then she has to watch her husband cheat on her. With Natalie. The next thing you know if they become co-hosts then they are traveling all over the world together like they did when they went to Italy and had Annette free time. So, according to The Enquirer, if Natalie got the co-host job then Annette was going to say buh bye to Matt and that would have been a mess and everything would come out and then Matt would lose that wholesome image he always try to portray.

ReplyDeleteAuntliddy - there have been lots of pictures with Matt and his family; also, yesterday he mentioned that it was his son's 11th birthday. As for his hair, he doesn't have a whole lot of it, so I guess there's not a whole lot he can do about that.

ReplyDeleteI think the male co-anchor chair on "Today" traditionally becomes so egotistical because they become so comfortable. They know they are basically untouchable because any show problems will be blamed on the women.
Didn't he have more than one lover? His wife better smarten up and leave the bastard pig. She'll get a lot of money in the divorce. That will soothe any sorrow she may be feeling. He's also ugly and geeky looking, so she could do far better.

He's nothing special, does an ok interview but not any better than anyone else, runs the place like he's king sleeping with this one and that one and being allowed to determine the fate of others like Ann Curry. I don't know why he gets that kind of power and what he did to earn it, but I don't enjoy him at all. If the wife stays for the money she's nuts. He makes so much money she'll have to worry? I don't think so.
A couple o years back i was at bergdorf's buying xmas presents. Ran into matt & his mrs. I never saw a more miserable looking pair.

I watched briefly this morning --just for a second and Ann looks like a whipped dog--she keeps her head down when they are all together as if she can't look any of them in the eye. They need to let her move on--putting her through this is mean.

ReplyDeleteIt can be really hard on young children when parents split up (no need to go into the obvious details why), so maybe if this story is true his wife thinks that Natalie is someone that Matt could fall in love with and therefore leave her for? Only they know
As far as Matt, he definitely has gotten that Bryant Gumbel smugness about him. I miss the warmth and charm of Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer together on Good Morning America. Those 2 were super cool together :)

They "pre-tipped" me $500.00 to ensure discretion.(Not uncommon).Larry Flynt(Hustler) also stayed there.But my favorite guest was Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain, one of the nicest sports guys I ever met.

He lives in NYC (actually, he lives in my neighborhood and I often see him walking around) while his wife and kids live in the Hamptons, and he goes out there on the weekend. They say it's for the schools and more relaxed social life for the kids.
