Kristen Stewart Gets Paid The Most

Most of Kristen Stewart's movies suck, but until the Twilight thing finally ends and she has to stand on her own without it, she is going to keep making a lot of money because studios still have yet to figure out that just because you have a name doesn't mean you make good movies, or bring in people. Hello Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman. To the credit of the studios I think they have finally discovered that the Jessicas, both Biel and Alba are better off in straight action roles with a bunch of people or small roles that are good, but within a big cast, like Valentine's Day or New Year's Eve. There also have not been that many Katherine Heigl movies lately. Anyway, Kristen was the highest paid actress last year. She made $34.5M last year. Yeah, I know. Life sucks. Cameron Diaz finished second but that is only because she made a ton of money on Bad Teacher. Sandra Bullock charges a lot per movie so even though she did not do a bunch, she finished third.

How do men do compared to women? The top ten women got paid $200M. The top ten men? $361M. Almost double. I think as you see more movies like Bridesmaids do really well with men and women and showing studios that men will go see women in movies other than for sex and nude scenes that those salaries will start to close. It's hard though when you have Robert Downey Jr alone making $100M for one movie.

  1. Guess Kristen never has to worry about running out converse, skinny jeans, and hoodies.

  2. Gaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhddd. She's so boooooooooooooooooooooooooring.

  3. Twilight is so juvenile, it doesn't even warrant a review. The idea of vampires that sparkle never fails to crack me up.

Kristen was in the right place at the right time with the right look. She did the equivalent of winning the lottery. I'll give her that.

  4. Not sure what people see this girl. Not very talented or attractive.

  5. You could put a cardboard in those Twilight films and it would do better acting than the Butch White but those Twilight fans jizz to everything.

  6. Could you imagine what she could do it she had talent ? This is one lucky girl..

    1. Imagine if she had facial expressions. The possibilities would be endless for her.

  7. I think she's adorable. I have never seen Twilight, but I like her look. She's a kid for crying out loud. I don't know why so many people harbor such negative, nasty feelings towards young adults. It's bizarre. I'll chalk it up to jealousy, but most of you wouldn't admit that.

  8. The Jessicas Alba and Biel's roles in Valentines Day and New Years Eve were GOOD?! I must've missed that memo.

  9. I like Kristen and think she has talent. And no, I'm not a Twihard - they are one of the most poorly written book series ever.

  10. I thought she was very good in Panic Room and the movie she made about the amusement park (tho I'm biased cause it was filmed in my town) but other than that, I'm not impressed. I've seen one of the twilight movies and I could only watch for a couple minutes. She has the 'dead behind the eyes' look down pat. She is not worth that money tho. She should invest in some acting classes.

  11. Tempestuous Grape - I don't care what she looks like. Of the movies and interviews I've seen her in, she bores me to tears. And the constant lip-licking! Oy.

  12. What are people jealous of about Kristen?
    Her money: yes.
The rest: thank God I don't look like her or have her personality.

She is a 22 year old adult, stop excusing her idiotic behaviour with age.

  13. I like her too. She had no filter which is refreshing. She did luck out with Twilight though.

  14. She always looks dirty and snotty to me, but hey, take the money and run. If they giving it out, take it!!

  15. My dad, who is in his 50's had to take my sister to go see the snow white movie and he said Charlize rocked as did thor(his words not mine I would have called him that hot piece of ass!!) but he said "That girl who played snow white looked like she was trying to fart but hold the shit in going by her facial expressions."ahhh parents.

  16. I don't know if she lucked out with Twilight, aside from the cash. The books are dreck - no one is making that look good onscreen - Bella is one of the worst female characters ever written - she's even more boring and whiny in the books.

I think Kristen would be better regarded if she hadn't done that series. People love to hate on movies like Twilight and will gun for her to do badly in other roles just based on that.

  17. I think she is cute, but damn the girl can not act! That whole constipated look she works is just not worth that amount of money. Thank your lucky stars Kristen you did in fact win the jackpot!

  18. I've only seen her in The Runaways and Adventureland and I was surprised that I liked her. But those parts suited her. My husband thinks she's good looking and I was surprised until I saw her smile. She's very pretty when she smiles.

I can't wait until the idiot term "chick flick" dies and men start going to see "women's" movies. Action movies do great because women are willing to go see them but it doesn't work the other way.

  19. You hate kristen stewart, ok, and Twilight movies suck, but most of her movies! Come on! She's not yet an amazing actress but be honest!

AND Nicole Kidman? Bad actress? Are you numb?

  20. I went as a chaperone for my niece a year or so ago to one of these movies. I don't live in the US so had no idea what to expect. I was very confused and surprised when out of no one some characters transformed into wolves (or I think that's what they were). Anyway I think Kristen is gorgeous in an alien kind of way.

Sandra Bullock has 'Gravity' coming out next summer it'll be a blockbuster. And she's about to shoot a comedy with Melissa McCarthy with the director of Bridesmaids i'm sure it'll make bank. i don't really care for Diaz but i thought Bad Teacher was really funny.

  22. How is Meryl Streep only number 8? She should be number 1 in my honest opinion.

  23. I thought she was very good in Snow White and the Huntsman. Tho I've never seen her in anything else.

  24. @Baka, the list is about how much money they make, not how talented they are.

    ReplyDelete
  25. If you look at the entire list, SJP was #7! #7!!!! I mean, I don't think KStew is all that talented either, but we all know that her shit-tastic movies make a LOT of money. BUT SJP?! She truly has the worst track record for movies these days. I swear she hasn't been in a decent movie since Honeymoon in Vegas.

  26. @ anita I know, I was just wishing pay would relate to the talent

  27. The best thing Kristin Stewart could do is disappear for a little while and then come back in some nice part that will freshen things up for her a little bit. She's in danger of overexposure at this point.

  28. Kristen can be a really good actress (liked her in "Speak") - but I wish she would have stuck to Indie films. I guess the first "Twilight" installment was Indie, but her acting was really bad in it. Anyway, if she brings in the revenue, then she's earned the pay - if any human is worth that much, that is. There are many actors and actresses throughout film history that were popular and highly paid that weren't necessarily the greatest Thespians. It's not like Lawrence Olivier ever made more money than Cary Grant.

  29. Why are the men getting paid more than the women??????

  30. OK, wait just a minute here...never mind Kristen raking it in for the Twilight movies--when the hell did RDJ's take for The Avengers hit $100 million?!? The last we heard here, it was $50 million, and that was only about a month ago; did it double in just that amount of time?

Mind you, I'm very fond of the fellow as both an actor and a human being, and if someone's gotta make $100 million in that cesspool called Hollywood, I'd much rather it be him than pretty much any one of his fellow A-listers, but daaaaaaaamn...I can't help but think that's just an obscene amount of money to pull in for one movie--OK, 3 movies, if we're counting the 2 Iron Man flicks--and you know damn well that if he's getting that much, the producers, etc. are getting even more...OK, I think I need to lie down for a moment so my head can stop spinning...

(Pssst, Bob...I'm still unemployed up here in Boston, and could really use some help in paying off my debts while I wait for the phone to ring w/a job offer, so any bit of assistance you could send my way would be truly appreciated--not only would I be more than willing to tell people wonderful things about you (OK, OK, I do that already, but I'll do it even more), but you'd definitely be in for some seriously yummy baked goods once this heat waves breaks in a few days. Pretty please with cinnamon sugar on top? *bats eyelashes, smiles winsomely* It's BoA, if that helps... ;-)

(As to what I'd do if a chunk of change from our patron saint actually did land in my bank account, I think the phrase "shit, faint, or go crazy" is probably pretty much on the money, pun intended...)

  31. Temp Grape: Really Really? You think our critique of her acting is because we're jealous? You've never seen the Twilight movies and think she's okay. Have you seen any of her movies? Better yet have you seen Jennifer Lawrence? This 52 yr is very happy that she is touted to be the next big thing because she knows that biting your lip isn't the only way to show an emotion. I don't begrudge anyone the opportunity to make $34.5M or $100M for that matter but like someone said, she won the equivalent of the lottery.

  32. This makes me so sad. I can't honestly say anything about her acting because I've never seen any movie in which she's appeared, but I just HATE, HATE, HATE any interview that she's ever done, both on tv and in print. She has the personality of a of a clump of dirt. (I was going to say rock, but I see neat, interesting rocks all the time when I walk along the river bank.)

  33. the fact these people get paid obscene amounts of money for being rather untalented is why I boycott the Hollywad (typo and it stays) machine more and more each year.

I never understood the Twilight appeal and I am a 40-something woman. My sisters were insane over it. I'm just over it. ;)

and it's not jealousy, they have nothing to be jealous of (in my book). I've just never understood the excessive money these tricks bring in.

(Love the stories of those who do great things for human/animal/planet-kind with their millions though-could use more stories like that!)

  34. The Bella role in Twilight was a lucky, lucky break for Kristin - and for that matter so was her role in Snow White. Same acting, different scenery, and even then I could barely get through that horrible mess.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think it's cute that Enty thinks the salary gap between men and women will close. Particularly considering how women are treated in Hollywood/what many of these women succumbed to in order to get these roles in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I will allow that , in certain lights, KStew is pretty, but she is still a talentless waste of skin. I dont mind that someone makes millions of dollars of years, nor do I care about whether or not they are donating any of it, what I DO care about is the fact that there are so many other, more talented, actors who are not getting the opportunity to entertain us. I mean, once you've seen KStew bite her lip, look down, look up, and appear to be ackward, you've seen all of her arsenal of "tricks".

  37. RDJ is worth every penny.

    That dude is talented!!

Loved him every since Weird Science.

He was the stand out in that movie, and he was just supporting.

  38. I saw the previews for Snow White and The Huntsman and mentioned to a friend of mine that I wanted to see it because it looked awesome. My friend said not to waste my time, he'd seen it and it wasn't very good and that Kristen Stewart was particularly awful.

  39. @ Bobbi and Bobbi's Dad :)
I lol'd and it was sooooo true, I loved the movie and the premise of a dark Snow White movie but what he said is true!

The Huntsman/Thor was totally hot but did not take off his shirt :(

Charlize was fantastic as the evil queen.

  40. I hope there aren't "more movies like Bridesmaids." In my opinion, that movie was terrible. Take buddy comedy formula. Insert diarrhea jokes...oh, and chicks. Since there are chicks, add love triangle. Include so old and lame it's cool and funny (not really) music to add a nostalgic touch. I was embarrassed that this movie did so well.

  41. Temp Grape...she's not a child. She's in her 20's....as for jealousy...I'm with Sherry. She is the most boring, one trick pony, overated actress. Now Jennifer Lawrence, that's talent...and she's far more attractive than Kristen. Believe me. No one is jealous of Kristen. I'm actually jealous of Amanda Seigfried. She's attractive, can act and has a beautiful singing voice. That's someone to be envious of. Love her.

  42. I actually like Kristen as an actress & most of her movies, but GOD, she is the most awkward interview on the face of the planet. Watching her interviews on talk shows is so painful! I feel bad for interviewers every single time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You call Kristen Stewart boring and talentless yet you render the most emphatic expletives you can muster when posting about her. Isn't it amazing how much raw emotion she can draw from people? Like Kristen said herself, hate or love from anyone is a valuable real estate that you allocate for her, whether it's coming from your brain or your heart. Kristen said that she prefers that over indifference. And true enough, she continues to evoke hate and love from people, but never ever indifference. If that's not power, I don't know what it is.

  44. And quite honestly, with the way everyone thinks about Twilight being trash, I think it's Summit who hit the jackpot when they got Stewart and Pattinson to make something out of nothing. The franchise is so cheap. It has only so far spent $260M to make all 4 movies that has already raked in $2.5B from movie tickets alone. When the last one comes out this Nov, it will hit $3.3B. If you factor in merchandizing, DVD, and TV rights, you can double that amount. Summit was the one which hit the jackpot.

  45. Girl can't film a normal non painful angsty kissing scene to save her life. When she kissed William in Snow White, I was thinking the whole time he was going to be on the ground writhing in pain from her painfully not passionate kiss. Her kissing scenes make me feel uncomfortable. Not because they are raunchy or anything like that, but simply for the fact that it is terrible kissing. Also, she doesn't know how to emote. Acting class by Lilo is dismissed.

  46. @Suzanne - I completely agree w/ you.

I don't think she's got very wide range as an actress, but there is only so much you could have done with whiny Bella.

I guess I'm the only one that loved Bridesmaids. I'm all for more all female based casts.
