Apparently Amber Heard is just the person Johnny Depp ended up with after his relationship to Vanessa Paradis ended, but that doesn't mean he didn't try a whole lot of women before choosing Amber. There are reports that he kind of went crazy on Rum Diary and Dark Shadows and was having sex with just about anyone who caught his interest. He even was having sex with his publicist who was traveling around with him during press for both of the movies and was on set and location with him. His publicist looks a lot like Vanessa and even Amber kind of does. Johnny really does like his blondes going way back. What bothers me is that the whole time he was messing around with all these other women he kept saying that he and Vanessa were trying to work it out. I cannot wait until she decides to spill the beans. I hope it is some French television station that gets the interview because I don't think they will pull any punches and hopefully she will let it all out. I bet she has some crazy good stories.

ReplyDelete@Patty - my take is that he is so smooth and mesmerizing (and loves to drink - Vanity Fair often mentions his red wine), that you'd fall into bed with him, under his spell, and not even notice the funk until you woke up the next morning. And then, there might not be enough soap and hot water in the world to de-smellify yourself.

ReplyDeleteI can see the Amber/Vanessa comparison when Amber was a brunette. But I do not understand what she sees in him, he's not even attractive anymore. It's not as head scratching as Scarlett Johannsen and Sean Penn, because Sean Penn is also a reprehensible person and Johnny has some very kind qualities, but it's still strange.

I'm not sure why this is surprising. I used to live in a city where he filmed a few movies, and he was always seen out and about with a gaggle of model types... well, more specifically, leaving bars and clubs with them.

The locals were all impressed that he worked all day on set and then returned to his yacht docked off San Juan, where Vanessa and the kids were. So I'm not sure how credible the reports that he was shagging every woman in sight are during that time, at least.

ReplyDeleteThe Rum Diaries were filmed 3 1/2 years ago. Early 2009. So if Johnny and Amber were cheating on their girlfriends way back then...all the gossip writers were slacking. Both had been seen with their gf's a lot in the past three years.

ReplyDeleteSnark doesnt bother me, but I found it annoying that someone would think that a person with a history of having long term relationships with women (and men) would say that that person was acting gay/bi-sexual for attention. I think it was a marginalizing statement and I didnt appreciate it. The same way that I dont appreciate it when people call gay men by women's names. Perhaps I am sensitive about this due to the fact that I have counselled women (and men) who identify as bisexual and have had their sexuality been the subject of ridicule and / or scrutiny.

[Or maybe Enty does know and we'll find out on 7/4] Yes, he could be a cheating piece of crap. Amber could be a home-wrecker. Maybe. But Johnny and Vanessa both always seem(ed) decent enough and have been in the game since they were teens. I could absolutely see where they both addressed the realities of fame but at the same time had a loving and respectful open relationship. Maybe they would have split anyway, maybe a fling with Amber turned into something more genuine, who knows?
