Jim Carrey Doesn't Talk To Jenny McCarthy's Son

Jenny McCarthy was on Howard Stern and said that her autistic son is in therapy and that it is all because of Jim Carrey. The couple split two years ago after five together and Jenny says that her son still asks about Jim almost every week and that she has asked Jim to talk to her son, but he refuses. Get this though. She has not asked him directly. Nope. She has asked others to ask others to ask Jim and has got no response. Just pick up the phone and talk to him. If your son is in therapy about it, and you think him talking to Jim would help, then why not call the guy? Jenny also says that she still loves Jim. He must have dumped her really hard. I think she saw the very very dark side of Jim Carrey but still wanted to be with him. How dark? Did you ever see Cable Guy? Multiply that by about 20 and you get how dark Jim Carrey can be. The same holds true for a lot of comics though. It gives them that edge that can make them very funny.

  2. I thought she was the dumper. She seemed to be the happier one when they broke up. Didn't she move on to someone else pretty quickly?

  3. If this is legit, I kind of feel bad for her because he probably manipulated her into needing him and now she can't shake it. She and her son both need therapy to move on.

  4. I can't take this woman seriously at all.

  5. While I am no fan of hers, I think she dumped Carrey and reportedly got a house from Jim as a parting gift / bribe to keep her mouth shut. I agree that life with Jim couldnt be all shits & giggles and then with the weight of ur son's health problems weighing down on her. I heard he say in an old interview that Jim was initially the first person to breakthrough to her son. Now as person who has dated people with kids, I had one relationship where I was very close to my boyfriend's 2 very young daughters and his mom, dad, siblings. When we broke up it was very devastating as his family became my family and then they were ripped away. It might be hard for Jim to speak to the son knowing his mom has moved on publicly relationship-wise. I know that would have killed me.

  6. I don't get people. Why wouldn't she just pick up the phone and call Jim? It's been two years, and she's over him enough to date other men; she can't suck it up for her son?

    ReplyDelete
  7. The only reason I can think of to explain this is that their breakup wasn't on particularly good terms.

  8. Know a girl who is personal friends w Jum Carrey. I like Jenny McCarthy a lot but apparently she was a bit of a coke head nutball (shocking I know) and that didn't help matters.

  9. She needs to call Jim if it's that important to her son, going on tv to complain is not going to her results.

Personally I think she should avoid reintroducing Jim into her sons life because it may only be temporary and autistic children do not handle changes in routine well, it's been a few years now and it's best to keep it that way for her sons sake.

  10. @hunter
That's not a surprise since her best bud is Chelsea Handler! Handler is a well-known coke head. Page Six is always running gossip on that.

If one of my kids was very attached to someone, I would pick up a telephone and call that person. Sprouting this stuff off to Howard Stern just makes this idiot look more dumb.

Also, if Jim Carrey is "dark" why even mention this to Howard Stern? Stern is NOT the person who can really help you. It's bad enough when Stern gets spouses to diss each other, but to get this twit to use her kid for publicity is just worse.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @hunter - I could totally see that, and we're only hearing her side of the story. People love to tell a story that places them in the best possible light, but someone with any real class at all just keeps their mouth shut regarding personal shit like this. Could Jim Carrey actually be the one on the high road here?

As a mom, I can't imagine blabbing about my kid in the national media like she's done for the past ten years. How humiliating for the boy. Geez.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Didn't Jenny make a big deal a number of years ago about how she had "cured" her son's autism? I guess she really didn't.

If this is really true about her son missing him, she should act like an adult and pick up the phone, rather than badmouth him.

    ReplyDelete
  13. People with kids should be very cautious about introducing their boyfriend/girlfriend to their children for this very reason. This kid has a lot working against him. For starters, his mother is Jenny McCarthy.

    ReplyDelete
  14. She now says that her son was not autistic - that it was an incorrect diagnosis - exactly because he got better. The updated diagnosis is some kind of rare syndrome or something. Also reconsidering all her statements about immunizations - after all the damage she has done!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Having raised a child by myself, I understand the fine line a woman can walk in regards to relationships and kids. It's too bad that Jenny and Jim can't grow up, and do what is right by the child. I don't care who calls who, if the child does or does not have autism, or if Jenny is or isn't a proper mother. Bottom line, man up both of you and do right by the boy!!

  16. You're expected to spill some dirt when you're on HStern which is why I don't understand why celebs go on that show.
If she wanted JCarrey to be in her son's life, she's probably guaranteed it's never going to happen now.

  17. I can't decide who I dislike more. Oh right, I don't have to follow internet rules and pick. I hate them both equally.

I'm sure most of you saw this on DListed last week but it's still funny: Jenny McCarthy Body Count.

  18. um, shouldn't she be more concerned about her son's relationship with his father than a movie star.

Seems kind of self serving and creepy. They broke up 2 years ago. At what point do you move on from a person?

    ReplyDelete

    1. My thoughts exactly. Shouldn't her son be asking for his biological father? Is the biological father deceased or something?

      Delete
  19. If it was crucial to her that Carrey keep in contact with her child, why not call him herself instead of going through "people"? I mean, if the two can't even talk on the phone, it might be better to not re-introduce him into her son's life. It just seems very manipulative on her part, to go on Stern and say what she did.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ timebob - self-serving - Bingo! We have a winner!

  21. I can see what everyone is saying and even both sides especially as I raised my son on my own, but what i can't wrap my head around is if Jim is dark and dangerous as she made him seem, why would you want your child around that person? I get it that he may have been good for your child at one point, but if Jim is as erratic as Jenny is making him seem, then sorry, i'll work on helping my kid on my own than take a chance. But not knowing the entire story, i can only comment based on what i'm reading in the media.

  22. Do you all think she is an idiot because she's anti-vaccination? Sorry to say it, but anyone who trusts that vaccinations are safe is the idiot, or just misinformed. Jenny McCarthy is a very brave soul for standing up to this kind of hate for so etching she believes in.

This message goes out to all the girls who have had their lives destroyed by the gardasil vaccine. Google it and learn something.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's time for Jenny to come out and talk about how she was wrong about vaccines. She needs to talk about how science has proved autism is very closely related to psychopathy and how psychopathy is genetic. That should explain the coke!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Besides Fluffy, she is now backtracking saying she might be wrong.

Don't blanket all vaccinations under Gardisil.

  30. I'll never forgive this idiot for making people think all vaccines are evil. See: http://jennymccarthybodycount.com/Jenny_McCarthy_Body_Count/Home.html I wish she'd go away and we'd never hear from her again.

  31. I don't trust our FDA at all and I haven't researched whether or not I think vaccinations are safe. For now I do except I do have one friend who developed a disease that I can't begin to pronounce or spell, which is weak muscle tone. That's all he's told me but I believe his brain is underdeveloped because he's the same age as me, 33 and he talks and acts like a young teenager. So there is some truth that vaccinations cause harm and I'll admit I haven't really looked into it yet probably bc I don't have kids yet but I'm leaning towards the benefits outweigh the risks. If 1 in 1000 kids have a reaction that's still better for the fate of the population. But more research needs to be done. Just look at all the drug recalls. In Europe the drug makers have to first prove the drug wont cause harm before it's approved. In America, they approve it and IF people die, THEN they recall it and say oops, my bad. We need to do our own research and not listen to the people who make money off of our doctor visits and prescription meds.

  32. I thought I read that Jenny's ex-husband didn't really have a relationship with their son. Either way, I do think Jim was close to her son and it if he just went away that was probably hard on him. Two years later, it doesn't seem like a good idea to reintroduce him briefly. She also should have called in the two years instead of taking it public.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Didn't Jim put a few million in a trust for her son to help with his schooling and medical care?

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's not jus gardasil, people. And plenty of people have been aware of the dangers of vaccines long before Jenny started speaking out. Also, the case is NOT closed on autism being linked to vaccines, no matter what the lame stream media has told you.

You actually think the FDA has your best interests at heart? There are some dark things going on in the world, folks. Yes, some vaccines are beneficial, but that doesn't mean some people aren't deliberately trying to poison us through certain other vaccines.

I personally know someone whose immune system has been destroyed by the flu shot. People who line up for flu shots every year are like pigs to the slaughter.

    http://ecochildsplay.com/2012/05/08/vaccines-cause-autism-symptoms-in-infant-primates/

I think autism is an overdose of heavy metals and toxins and kids with certain genetics are more vulnerable. Vaccines may just be one toxin too many for these kids. Taking bentonite clay baths, which pulls heavy metals frm the body, has helped a lot of autistic kids, which kind of shows that toxins and metals may indeed be to blame.

I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and maybe she wants Jim to talk to him to say goodbye. Maybe he just poof'd and never said goodbye?

But I also agree that after all of this time, do not introduce Jim back into her sons life.

And I thought Jim "gave her son" 4 million in a trust.

Then we had the blind about how a ex girlfriend was paid 'hush money' not to talk about the ex boyfriends kink. She was a very popular guess.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Jim gave Jenny and her son $50 Million dollars. That was less than a year before they broke up, perhaps after getting the money and moving on he feels burned by misinnocent. Who knows. He's not the child's father, the child's on father doesn't have a relationship with him because he's severely autistic, he can't have relationships like normal boys. All this is just so much garbage from an idiot who puts other children and infants in danger of death by their selfishness. If you don't inoculate your child don't bring him or her anywhere out in public ever, your child could kill other children - keep them out of society because they are a danger to the rest of us. Then if your child dies from a long cured childhood disease it's YOUR fault.

  50. Oh Mitten Fluffy, please please please do some actual research instead of buying into the hype surrounding vaccination.

First of all, in most states, the use of mercury in vaccines is illegal, did you know that? And there is no need to use ANY mercury in a single use syringe because it is a preservative. So in most cases, mercury isn't even present in vaccines. Even when it is, in a multiple use vial, the amount present is so minute, it has been proven to NOT cause short term adverse affects and the likelihood of long term adverse affects is very very small.

The same can't be said for your water supply. Seriously, if you want to get educated, learn what is in our water supply and consider developing fetuses being exposed to nasty stuff like atrazine (fertilizer, illegal in the EU), lead, iron and copper. Hmmmm....might this exposure have something to do with your heavy metal theory?

As for Gardasil, I believe the overall doses administered is in the 10s of millions (30 million? Too lazy to look it up...) and the overall rate of adverse event is less than 1%, with 92% of those being minor, injection site reaction, dizziness, some fainting, which caused some initial panic but hasn't panned out into anything serious. So I'm not sure the "truth" you are referring to. I know there has been some question as to the rationale for vaccinating against cancer...not worth debating but that's about it.

It just amazes me that so many people just jump on the anti-vaccine bandwagon without any education.

Katsm, you are woefully uninformed about vaccines. And I can't speak to the drug approval process in Europe because I have no background in it but I can tell you that, while the process of bringing drugs to market is problematic, to make a blanket statement that you don't have to prove that a drug won't cause harm in America is also terribly misinformed. As for the process in Europe, which is not a country, by the way, google thalidomide. Then we'll talk.

I'm sorry...most of the time, I just lurk but this vaccine thing makes me want to speak up.

  52. And Mitten Fluffy? If you want to get riled up about the FDA and drugs, please get behind the current legislative debate going on. Two bills, one in the house, one in the senate. Four years after a bad batch of heparin caused allergic reactions and death in the US (heparin is a life saving anti coagulant, by the way) our lovely government is FINALLY getting around to REQUIRING countries where are drugs are manufactured to open up those manufacturing facilities to US inspectors. And to funding said inspections.

Yes....that is correct....FOUR YEARS after harm was caused by medication administered to US citizens our government is doing something about it. Four years.

Many manufacturing facilities on foreign soil are inspected about every 7 years. Seven years. Your local McDonalds gets inspected more frequently.

And manufacturing facilities in China have been refusing admittance to US inspectors. The same people who brought you lead paint in children's toys and melamine in infant formula have been refusing to allow inspectors to see how our drugs are made.

Just think about it for minute....did you have any medication to take this am, Mitten? Where did it come from? Who made it?

If you want to get passionate about something, if you want to advocate for something, please please please get behind reform for the inspection process of drug manufacturing facilities on foreign soil.

    OK...now really, I'm done.

After that, when I did date, I kept my kids out of the picture.
However, when your in a relationship for 5+ years with someone, its kinda tough to exclude your children.

I see Jenny's side where her son is concerned - he must be devastated. But I also see Jim's side. Demons or not, I'm sure was attached to her son and most likely wanted nothing more to do with Jenny, so he chose to cut all ties.

  58. Actually, flu shots and vaccines do have DO have something in common; thimerosal. A mercury based preservative that was used in childhood vaccines until a couple of years ago (government told vaccine manufactures to take it out). It’s still used in adult flu vaccines, and is in many childhood vaccines that were made before the gov instruction. It hasn’t been allowed in animal vaccines for over 20 years.

  64. Alright, I needed to work before I could comment, but I heard this whole show the other day, On Howard's West Coast feed. EL or his info is unbelievably and totally wrong. She never said her son is in therapy BECAUSE Jim wouldn't visit. Michael K has the whole quote on a post about this. We understood it to mean that her son has such issues that he needs therapy for it and the only person he seemed to talk to was Jim. She talked for a few minutes about her son and his therapy before Jim Carrey visiting him or not even came up. And, for the record, Howard asked her about it, Jenny didn't volunteer it. In fact, we found it interesting that while Jenny kept talking about her sex drive, Howard was interrupting her with these little personal questions.

And I am interested in her sex drive 'cause she's dating B. Urlacher of the Bears. Which is my team and seeing how Cutler sucks, it's gonna be up to our defense again =/ I don't think our main dude should be distracted right now.

Anyway, I didn't particularly care for Jenny, but I thought she seemed pretty cool after the interview. She was pretty hilarious and said some pretty funny shit.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Well, Juicy, since you asked 10 times, as I understand it not all vaccines are 100% protection against contracting certain diseases. The more non-vaccinated people there are spreading the germs around, the more likely that vaccinated people will end up with these diseases anyway.

And OMAMA, golly jeepers, my kids are fully vaccinated, including with the Dread Gardasil, and they are some of the "healthiest kids at school" too. Ergo, your observation is specious, or perhaps even ridiculous? Yes.

It's insane the lack of historical knowledge we have in this country. My parents (in their 70s) had friends who died or were crippled from polio, sidelined for weeks or months with measles, mumps, scarlet fever etc. And now the nonvaccinated are killing infants by spreading pertussis. THAT'S WHY those bad ol' drug companies produce those nasty mean vaccines. Dopes.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous4:38 PM

I just can't with these people who refuse to vaccinate their kids. People, if you don't vaccinate your children, not only are you putting your own kids at risk, but other people's, as well. If an unvaccinated kid gets something like pertussis, and is exposed to a baby too young to get the whooping cough vaccine, guess what happens? The baby gets the disease, and sometimes babies die from it. And it is a horrible disease -- go to You Tube and search for "whooping cough." You will not like what you see, at all. This is just one example. You are relying on herd immunity to keep your unvaccinated kid from getting sick, but at the same time you are compromising that herd immunity. And why? Because some celeb famous for taking off her clothes said vaccines were bad? Because you read it somewhere on some website? People, please. Use your brain. Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. Thiomersal, even though the WHO says it's completely safe, has not been used in routine children's vaccines in years.

There has never been one controlled study that linked autism and vaccines. The one doctor who published a poorly-researched paper on it has since lost his license to practice and the journal (The Lancet) that published it repudiated the paper.

This is junk science of the worst sort. And the only people who are suffering from it are children. Not vaccinating your kids should be a crime, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Juicy, the unvaccinated children pose a serious threat to the other unvaccinated children--that is, infants too young to get a vaccine or children undergoing cancer treatments or other medical procedures that affect their immune systems and don't allow for vaccination until treatment is over. Those hit hardest in pertussis outbreaks, for example, are babies who haven't had a chance to get the full dose of Dtap. I am personally acquainted with five families whose infants have died as a result of an unvaccinated child spreading pertussis. In all five cases, the unvaccinated child survived, the infant perished.

Also, I'm too exhausted to look up which anti-vaxxer here said so, but thimerosal was not taken out of vaccines "a few years ago." It's been out of vaccines for more than ten years now. And they took it out not because any research showed danger but because they realized that the public was so convinced by the cranks at that time that it was a harmless way to convince parents to vaccinate. Many of us in public health disagree with their decision to ignore science and bow to anti-vaccine groups on that one.

Have I mentioned that I love the readers of CDN? Sometimes I could weep for joy when I read the comments on this topic.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thimerosal as a preservative has not been a significant presence in childhood vaccinations for YEARS. The only vaccination that still contains trace amounts of thimerosal is the multiple dose influenza vaccine vial. (See above post). You can call around to find single use syringes if you are THAT concerned about it.

Check the CDC website -- they have a list of vaccinations, with trade names, and the thimerosal content of each one. It's public information....you can request thimerosal free vaccinations for you and your children.

If exposure to thimerosal is your only reason for avoiding vaccination for children....I just can't believe you'd risk your child's life or someone else's child's life when you are so poorly informed. It's just....there aren't words. As others have suggested, look at some you tube videos. PKids has a particularly heartbreaking series. Some of the parents who made videos lost their children because of their misguided avoidance of vaccines.

Obama -- it doesn't matter if your kids are "healthy" to date or not. What happens when they go to college and spend a few semesters in the dorm? Google college and meningitis. All it takes is one exposure. And your kids have no immunity.

Juicy, yours is a valid question. An unvaccinated person represents the ideal breeding ground for a colony. As a healthy adult, you may not even show signs of being sick but you are contagious and can spread disease to the very young, who aren't vaccinated yet and the immunocompromised (asplenic, cancer patients, elderly) or those whose immunity has waned.

If every single person were vaccinated against say, small pox, the virus would have no host and would no longer represent a threat....wait, isn't that what already happened? Imagine if we could say the same about measles or polio or....I could go on and on.

Just read up on it. Go to trusted sites, the CDC, WHO....please.

  69. I should clarify....most states have a LAW against the use of thimerosal as a preservative in vaccines. So you don't even have to do much research to assure yourself that your children aren't getting exposed to the dreaded thimerosal that hasn't been proven to cause a single problem...

The only time you could have exposure to a trace amount of thimerosal is in the multiple use influenza vaccine vial. Which is still against the law in most states. It is used during influenza vaccine shortages, by special proclamation.

So there you have it. A little education. Now, go vaccinate your kids.

  70. On the vaccine matter I have only this to contribute:

If there were a vaccine against stupidity, would we give it to Lohan et. All in Hollywood?

Knowing that, to do so, would be destroying what we come on this site here to do. It would be infinite nothingness.

Invalid argument? I think there's a black hole outside my window. Dear god, what have I postulated?!

  72. JustJen, Moms Who Vax, et al, thank you! Thank you for taking the time to present the facts here. And thank you for the work you do.

  73. Hmmm. IIRC, she once gave him credit for some sort of a breakthrough w/her son, and I think she was the dump-er in their break-up. It could have turned into one of those situations where she said, we've broken up now you can't see MY kid. She does have a new show coming out - maybe she's stirring up controversy.

I don't trust her motives, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

    Yes, what you said.

  75. She got fifty million bucks from this guy-you'd think that would be enough for her to shut her mouth and move on! Good Lord.

I don't like Jim Carrey (I hate comedy) but he really has no responsibility to Evan. He is not the father; hell, he wasn't even officially the stepfather. He dated Jenny and that's it. I do feel sad for Evan because I'm sure he's hurt, but I doubt he needs therapy to get over it. Jenny seems like one of those crazy parents who hovers over their kid every minute and at the first sign of a problem runs around taking the kid to expensive doctors and specialists that he/she doesn't really need to see.

  76. Well said, Mitten Fluffy! Jenny definitely isn't perfect, but I give her so much credit for being such a loving, devoted mother and having the intelligence to do her research about vaccines instead of just believing whatever the pharmaceutical industry tells us to do. Guillian Barre Syndrome, aneurysm, death are all "side effects" of vaccines -- read the inserts. Do your research, people! Most people are willfully ignorant and have NO IDEA what the ingredients even are in vaccines. They have no idea that there is "thimerosal" (mercury), formaldehyde, genetically modified chicken RNA, aluminum, to name a few. But go ahead and inject multiple vaccines into your child's bloodstream. The pharmaceutical companies' wallets thank you!

  77. What@frufra said. Thanks for some well sourced info.

  78. @prudence ... Good to know there's intelligent life

@JustJen ... What makes you thin I'm u aware of the dangers of the water supply? Don't you think someone like me who is aware f the dangers of vaccines is also aware of the chemicals in the water supply? Duh.

I live in the country and we have our own well without fluoride or other crap. Do you think I'm stupid? I'm not a mindless sheep drinking the poison and letting myself be injected with toxic shit.

And it is hilarious that you ask if I take any medication ... Of course I don't. Do you? Obviously you do because you seem to think everyone does by the way you phrased the question. I have no need for medication. I eat pure, whole foods, no poisonous crap, grow my own vegetables, don't get the fl shot, have perfect cholesterol and blood pressure, and feel very sad for all the people n the board who eat fast food, drink the fluoride water, and take prescription drugs.

I am part of the 1% ..l the 1%who has woken up to big pharma's lies.

  79. Excuse all my typos ...

  80. Except Prudence, if you did your "research" (and I'm assuming you went to the same medical school as Ms. McCarthy), you would know that THIMEROSOL ISN'T IN VACCINES ANYMORE. Why can't you antivaxers let go of that? The willful ignorance is dazzling. And please explain to us all why children being crippled from polio or blind from rubella is better than a drug company making a profit? EXPLAIN. REALLY. Muffin fluffy kitty bunny, I live in the city and drink flouridated water, don't take any medication, am in perfect health and will be happy to sit down and
compare my teeth with yours in 40 years. Whatevs, just keep your contagion clan out in the country, out of public schools and away from my family. Like someone said upthread, I just can't with you people. Love, a mindless sheep (which apparently means I don't make up my own facts to suit my nutty agenda).

  81. So by the time the kid is 18 he will easily have had 6 'uncles' who no longer 'visit' the house. He's already on 'uncle' #3....his bio dad, Jim and now her new BF, some athlete. Great parenting Jenny.....nothing like confusing the already confused kid.

P.S. isn't she now saying the kid has celiac disease, not autism, and it's controlled by diet??

    ReplyDelete
  82. So well said, Linn, JustJen and all the others.

Thank God for the advances in medicine - I mean, really, where would be today without them?

And for what it's worth (and I know I'm dating myself by sharing this), but my mother had recurring rheumatic fever as a child, before they had antibiotics, which damaged her heart, which she died from decades later. My father and his younger brother were hospitalized as infants with Scarlet Fever; his brother died, my father got lucky. When was the last time you heard of someone becoming sick from either of these illnesses? Exactly! Thanks to advances in medicine and vaccinations, they've been eradicated.

  83. Correlation does not equal causation! Vaccines do not cause autism. Autistic signs can begin to show in the first year of life. One sign is not babbling or cooing by 12 months of age. By then, the child has had a series of vaccines (if they have a responsible parent who do not want to put their child or other people's children in danger). People point the finger at vaccines because they struggle with trying to understand how their child is autistic and it's a convenient explanation. As other posters have said, there have been no legitimate studies showing this link. Don't put your kids and other kids in harm's way because of pseudo-science.

    ReplyDelete
  84. That's funny Lynn, b/c during the swine vac hysteria, my kids where the only ones who DIDN'T get the vaccine, and teacher's made a point of telling me that they found it funny that none of my kids missed any school. Which is really funny b/c the kids who did get the vac, all became quite ill and missed A LOT of school (not to mention being as the vac was the swine flu, my un vac'd kid should have picked up the virus from someone in the classroom). One teacher even pulled me to the side and said had she not been forced to get the vac by the teacher's union, she wouldn't have.

It's also funny how people get so angry when you don't do it the way they do. I could give a rats ass if you want to inject your child with whatever is the latest, and greatest drugs. And you should give a rats ass if I choose not to. I find the same people jump out of the woodwoork when the debate of how to handle cancer comes up. Why does it bother you so much that there are those of us who do not adhere to western medicine? You know what it reminds me of? The Born-Agains. They freak the f**k out if you don't see things their way. And I feel it freaks them out because they themselves are unstable in their own "beliefs." As no one, regardless of anything, can or will shake my knowledge of the Lord, thus I am not ever threatened by anyone else's faith.

    Just something to think about.
