Blind Item #1
What actress you probably have never heard of but scored herself the lead in a high profile tv movie quit because one of her co-stars who you have heard of, kept hitting on her.

Not much to go on..
ReplyDeleteThe only high profile tv movie I can think of is Liz and Dick, so maybe Lindsay was hitting on this girl?
ReplyDeleteWait, nevermind, I didn't notice that the actress who quit originally had the lead role.

ReplyDeleteHolly DeVeaux ?
The girl who was supposed to play Casey Anthony and Rob Lowe.
ReplyDeleteRob Lowe for the actor in that Casey Anthony movie? Dont know the actress's name and can't google right now.
ReplyDeleteRob Lowe and Holly DeVeaux FTW. I assumed that Rob had reformed now that he has a family, etc. Silly me.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely sounds like Lowe & DeVeaux. I admire her; she must have strong moral character to walk away from a role that could have moved her up the "list." Lowe is a pig.
ReplyDeleteI see that Oscar Nunez from "The Office" is playing the defense attorney Jose Baez, so unfortunately I'll now have to watch the thing. I'll just fast-forward through the Lowe parts. Smug jerk.
I dont know because Ive never heard of either of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually excited to see Oscar play a serious role. I know that's...weird.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's Rob Lowe. Besides being awesome, Lowe would merit a much more flattering description than "heard of".
ReplyDeleteThe Holly Deveaux guess sounds spot on, since the news has just come out that she dropped out of the project because "both sides felt it wasn't right" :/
ReplyDeleteWow Steppy, Rob doesn't have a very good reputation, actually...so it may be an understatement to say "heard of," but it's a generous understatement ...
ReplyDeletewell the actress seems obvious, but the actor, maybe not. was thinking when i saw this, "will she ever get another acting job"? her leaving caused problems
ReplyDeleteRob Lowe is also a producer on the film which would have made any attempt she made to stop the advances practically impossible.
ReplyDeleteRob Lowe is an ass, he's always been an ass, he'll always be an ass. This is totally him.
ReplyDelete^ I was going to say the same thing. I wonder if there's more to the story. More than just "getting hit on." More like "sleep with me or you'll get fired" kind of thing. Because I can't believe that a no-name actress would drop out of a TV movie (even if it's Lifetime) just because an actor was hitting on her.
ReplyDeleteRob Lowe really loves doing those lifetime movies. They must treat him like its 1986.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an actress who has her priorities straight. It may hurt her career - even end it - but everyone on this blog & others always complains about "why do women let themselves be used like that?" This one didn't. I applaud her...that took great courage and integrity.
ReplyDeleteHe's still awesome on Parks and Rec though. He kills me and my husband.
ReplyDeleteNo idea, but I met Rob Lowe and he's not an ass. At least he wasn't to me and everyone else that day on the set. (And no, he didn't hit on me.) He actually came across as a friendly person and genuinely cared about the nervousness of someone in the cast and put them at ease. He's actually also a lot smarter than you might think. This was a few years ago, but still ... Hope it's not him.
ReplyDeleteWell if it is Holly, then I guess the culprit could be Oscar from The Office. He's the other "name" I know associated w this production so far....although you can see I don't even remember his full name...
ReplyDeleteThe other high profile Lifetime movie is the June Carter story. Was someone else supposed to play the lead? or has it always been Jewel?
ReplyDeleteJust did a google search on:
ReplyDelete"Rob Lowe" "hit on me"
and then I did a search on:
"Rob Lowe" "hit on her"
Both searches had lots of relevant hits that convince me that the answer to this blind is the obvious one...
The only high profile TV movie I can think of was the Hatfield and the McCoy's. Man was that an amazing mini series.

ReplyDeleteFinally an actress who obviously could have used the exposure stood up for herself. About time. Proud of her and her name should be revealed next month so we can send her fan letters or something!
ReplyDeleteI have no trouble believing this is Rob Lowe. He is a raging egomaniac and always has been, including the "someone who follows their own ungoverned impulses" aspect of egomania.
ReplyDeleteHe still has his entertaining moments on Parks, though. I can admit that.
I'm liking the Holly DeVeaux guess. I was wondering why a director would put up with that, then I learned Rob Lowe is in it and he's producer that explains why he can get away with it.
ReplyDeleteFlaming asshole.
I love Oscar Nunez! I also loved when his character had a crush on the gay warehouse guy for a while! So cute.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see him do drama. I've been worried for that cast after The Office ends, since the minor players will never escape their characters (Creed, Meredith, Stanley, etc).
You're all far too young to remember this, but way, way back in Rob Low's career, he was involved in a scandle involving an underaged girl and video taped sex. It was basically the first sex tape scandal.
ReplyDeleteYet he managed to carve out a career anyway, and stay out of any scandal, in public anyway.
Dr. Phil is right, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
Nobody here's too young, Tru Leigh. I'm 41, I remember it well, and I'm same age or younger than many of the 'regulars' here.
ReplyDeleteHis romp with the 13-year old has been discussed many times here, FYI.
You're all far too young to remember this but back in the day Rob Lowe made a sex tape with Mary Magdelene. It was the lead story in all the cuneiforms at the time.
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteLOL, astrogirl. What Libby said - most of us here are on the "mature" side. Probably why the commenters here are a step above most other sites.
ReplyDeleteTru Leigh - I'm sorry that you and Dr Crazy share such a pessimistic attitude. It must be rough going through life expecting the worst of everyone.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, someday you will be able to let go of all your grudges and enjoy life. Best of luck!
Feeling the hate...
ReplyDelete@Tru Leigh, I remember that!
ReplyDelete@crila16- I thought Hatfield & McCoys was really good. Amazing it was on History channel, shows you how badly network TV is today.
How about Dean Cain, he's filming a ton of made for tv movies as we speak. Maybe Elisa Donovan as the actress?
ReplyDeleteDean Cain and Charisma Carpenter is probably a better guess, just to throw something other than Rob Lowe out there.
