Miriam Margolyes from Harry Potter and will.i.am on The Graham Norton Show. Miriam says she does not meet many black people about five minutes in. Then seven minutes in doesn't recognize Prince William. It really doesn't get better than this.
It's scripted. The photo of the guard with the bearskin cap is the giveaway that it's not ad-libbed; having that photo on hand wasn't spontaneous, and introducing it required the detour.
I love this! I haven't yet seen "Harry Potter", but what a delightful woman! And Will.i.am seems like a really cool guy - not only by creating STEM, but also acknowledging that this program is aimed towards peaking girls interest in science, etc. A very entertaining 14 minutes.
@Barry - The photo was available for queue since Norton had probably gone over the questions with his guests, and one of them was about the hat. This was spontaneous.
Is this show available on BBC America? I like it. Now I'm off to find the Russell Brand one...
That was precious. She's a darling. Will and Graham were very cute with her. I love Graham Norton....when stuff like this happens he just goes with it.
I've never seen wil.i.am interviewed. I love him! He seems really down to earth and good on him for rolling with "I don't know any black people outside showbusiness" lady.
I love Graham Norton! Hey at least she was honest. I have never seen Will.I.am speak but he seems like an amazingly generous person. He also sorta pings my gaydar. No matter, he puts his money where his mouth is and has my deep respect.
For those who aren't aware of Miriam Margolyes (she's a fantastic actress and a real favourite of mine) - she played Professor Sprout in Harry Potter and was Lord Blackadder's aunt in Blackadder II. She's been in a relationship with an Australian woman for over 40 years, so obviously a keeper. It's worth looking up the Blackadder episode just for her performance alone.
The show is in 3 parts. If you watch the last part, will.i.am tells a story about Michael Jackson, riding horses and picking apples in Ireland...very funny.
GrahamNortonFan on youtube posts the show regularly. the Emily Blunt/Russell Brand/Paloma Faith episode was great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdpggrSpwj8
LMAO! I have to say i am not a big Will I AM fan but he was great on here.
