The Whole Face Eating Zombie Attack In Miami

The other day on twitter I spent 140 characters explaining that I had received countless links to the story about the man killed while eating another man's face, but how do you really write about it? I think seeing the man in a normal photo helps. The picture above is a mug shot from a previous arrest. How do you go from this to man eater? Can you imagine if we did really have zombies? Do you think the guy was messed up on drugs and watched too many episodes of Walking Dead? Don't you think that if you combined that show with drugs that you could become paranoid? The police say he was on LSD, but I think it had to be some kind of PCP/meth combo. You don't get flesh eating crazy from LSD. PCP is the drug that makes you crazy. Once you take PCP you are never the same person again. What worries me is that now this will spawn some type of copycat craze. Or, even worse that the PCP this guy took will be taken by others and lead to the same results.

  1. I was thinking PCP, too. The dude lost 75% of his face. The whole thing is sick.

  2. Probably bath salts...that shit is worse than PCP.

    Love this crazy celebrity gossip.../sarcasm

  3. There is talk that the whole "bath salts" psychosis thing might be a factor, as well as LSD. For what it's worth, a not insignificant number of murders have been committed by people high on LSD over the past sixty years or so, but a tiny, tiny fraction of acid use involves violence. LSD was making a comeback a few years ago, after almost ten years in which emergency room statistics indicated it was no longer being used much. (Oddly, the death of Jerry Garcia broke up the main LSD manufacture and distribution network in North America.) This poor guy must have been a raving lunatic at the time of the murder. It's a horrifying story.

  6. There is so much to this story that does not make sense. I've been watching it avidly. The witness said the killer "growled" when the cop tried to get him off of the guy he was eating. It took six shots to kill him. The witness said he is leaving Miami because this was so gruesome. The hospital will not give any info about the guy whose face was eaten.

Whatever caused this is VERY scary.

  7. Yeah what about the victim? , this is so creepy...

  8. I've seen the picture of the victimes face..so awful. Its like the hannibal movie.

  9. I heard on the radio that it was a cocaine-induced mental break. I guess if you do enough your mind just goes. You get psychotic & full of rage & are hard to stop. After having that break you're never normal again.

  10. I leave the country for a couple of days and come back to this?!!? WTF, I never heard this story, this is crazyyyyyy

I know I am looking a lot closer at people when I go out for a run now. I also am always looking for escape routes and weapons when I run...in case someone gets after me.

  12. Police have said that bath salts were involved. It's a powder-like substance described as "fake cocaine" and it is snorted, injected and smoked. The substances most commonly added to the bath salt compound are mephedrone and (MDVP).ER rooms in SoFLa have reported numerous incidents of this all with bizarre behavior (but this is the first Zombie reaction that they know of).

Double tap (and a gun would be handy).

  13. I'm curious to know why both men were naked on a busy roadway in the middle of the afternoon also why was the man growling?

I read somewhere else that the victim had his eyeballs gouged out, poor man.

  14. There are pics on thedirty.com that shows the victims face right after it happened and also a pic of the 2 laying on the ground after the police shot the guy. Very disturbing and graphic. And before anyone asks me why the hell I'm looking on that site, a friend told me to look on there.

  15. Nice Double tap reference there Agent.

The world just gets crazier every day. All I know is there are way too many of us watching Walking Dead out there. *I already have my team and escape route planned*

  16. I live in zombie country ( they filmed day of the dead in my hometown) so I grew up with the fear. I always know the quickest way to safety every where I go.

  17. And this is why The Smoking Gun has entire category devoted to Florida.

  18. I'm thinking the victim was somehow incapacitated also, doesn't seem like he tried to defend himself in any way.

    Those pictures are horrible, btw.

  19. And to think I'm still like 3 weeks away from the Zombies, Run! app coming out for Android. I'm not ready yet!!!!

Did you know that the Centers for Disease Control actually have a preparedness kit for the "Zombie Pandemic" they say is coming? Seriously, this is a government site. You can download it here:

  21. This incident is horrible but nothing new. No one else here had to watch those terrible 8mm in school of the dangers of LCD and other drugs? I remember hearing other stories of PCP/LSD user eating faces.

  22. Fl is due to the powerful Co$ influence emanating from Clearwater, FL. It's everywhere.

  23. Nah, it's the humidity.

  24. Nakedness due to hyperthermia... probably from a "designer" mix of meth/pcp/bathsalts.

I've seen people get hyperthermia before... it's not pretty, if you can't cool down the body your brain turns to soup. Add in some pcp/salts to "get your rage on" and this really isn't that far fetched.

  25. Sadly, I did look at the pictures. It looked like he the ate quite a meal before they shot him. I can't fathom any drugs other than the pcp/bath salts/massive amounts of coke combo...with some serious pre-existing psychosis thrown in for good measure. What is the world coming to?

    ReplyDelete
  26. These are not the drugs of my youth, thank goodness. I'm not looking at the pics. Someone told me about krokodil and I looked at that. Drugs are bad, mmmmmmkay?

  27. .. upon consideration, it is the humidity....

Warning : those pix are really graphic

  28. Would not want to be the doctor in that ER

  29. why is it meth and bath salts gaining popularity? Why can't it be nice calm downers instead?

  30. Damn those pics were really gruesome, I can't believe the victim survived, his life will literally never be the same.

  31. The zombies did some cool songs back in the day. Maybe the can re-unite and do the theme song to the sequel of Face-Off if they make one...

  32. I read a lot but never read any of the countless zombie books - couldn't suspend my disbelief. Now I'll have to read a few so I know more about how to fight them. All I know is double tap to the head.

It's certainly been an interesting diversion here in south Florida. You can't go anywhere without people talking about it.

  33. I'm hearing he was on bath salts.

Either way, drugs or no drugs, this dude it Nuts.

  34. WHOA!!!! Couldn't help it, just had to look at the pictures. Assuming he lives he's going to need a MASSIVE amount of reconstructive surgery. Considering the pain he's looking foward to, it almost might be in his best interests to die, poor man. I just hope he's getting massive amounts of pain killers.
I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

  35. @SusanB, double tap. Stay away from federal highway.

  37. the CDC created that as a dummy scenario should any real danger come up, it's not real Zombies..??

    christ, this site lately....seriously.

  38. OMG THAT IS INSANE! That's some Texas Chainsaw Massacre insanity right there!

I'm not even going to look at the pictures because I know I'll just innocently come across them when I'm searching for porn or something.

  39. Damn it, I looked! Awful. I hadn't even heard of bath salts, is that a drug? Sad for the victim & the family/friends of the victim &the perp.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm still trying to figure out why both the Face eater and the victim were both naked.

    ReplyDelete
  41. OMFG. Why did I just google Krokodil....Horrible. I can't believe people would knowing inject that into their veins.. Ugh.

  42. They are not zombies, but flesh eaters. Don't know why "zombies" became the name for them. George Romero never called them that.

Zombies are actually people who have been given high doses of the puffer fish, which works on the central nervous system. Haiti folklore has many stories of "zombies," but they are in a lot of Afro-Caribbean countries.

  43. I looked at the pictures.. The victim wasn't naked.

  44. I sort of beg to differ. I moved from Las Vegas primarily because I wanted my daughter to have a better life (little did I know - she turned out just fine, but Utah was NOT the ideal place for this). Anyway, one of her friends fatally stabbed someone on LSD 3 weeks after we'd moved. He'd gotten a hold of this old knife that had quite a history.

While I'm not exceptionally experienced with psychedelics, I'm a proponent of them, after having read countless info on the subject. Psychedelics have been known to be EXTREMELY effective in the treatment of alcoholism and PTSD - if you have a proper trip guide. But once in awhile, you hear crazy stuff like this.

  45. @feraltart, Bath salts may not have reached Oz, yet, but they're all over the US. They're a designer drug most commonly made using three chemicals which are synthetic stimulants -- MDPV, mephadrone and/or methylone. A nice innocent name for an ugly substance.

As someone said upthread, I miss the days when we just wanted to chill, maybe have little fun and hang out peacefully.
