Timothy Busfield Accused Of Sexual Battery
I was going to make a reference to Timothy Busfield last week because some person reminded me of him in revenge Of The Nerds. Now I don't remember who it was. But it turns out that when I think of someone like that they get accused of sexual battery. Maybe if I think harder of a person next time they will get their television show canceled and be forced to call bingo games on cruise ships filled with Ray-J impersonators for the rest of their life. Kim Kardashian. Kim Kardashian. Apparently Timothy Busfield and a woman went on a date. They went to a movie and started making out in the movie. At some point, Timothy went for second and third base right there in the theatre and the woman stopped the date right there and the next day went to the police. The police have not spoken to Busfield yet and no charges have been filed. So, did she say no and he kept going or did he just touch her and then she accused him of battery? I'm confused about the whole thing.
This is a tough one. With all the JT allegations going on now, it would seem weird for me to say this guy didn't do anything wrong. But I will anyway. From what it reads like, they went out on a date and both of them were kissing. Maybe Tim tried to get to third a little faster than the woman was ready for, or maybe he was extrememly forcefull. But whatever happend, it appeared she said no and he stopped. So why the battery charge?
ReplyDeleteYeah, if he stopped after she said no, then why the battery charge?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. There's no real way of knowing what actually happened here, but this whole thing sounds a bit odd. For a start, how come the press found out about this before the cops have even spoken to Busfield?
ReplyDeleteIt could be anything from something very nasty indeed, to a guy who's seeing how far his date is willing to go, and backing off immediately when she says no. There's no way of knowing until we get more details.
And in answer to the first couple of posters - there is no charge, of battery or anything else. The police haven't spoken to Busfield yet, and it's not clear if they're going to.
ReplyDeleteYikes, another one. The line between attempting to go a step further and battery is a fine one apparently. If she had wanted him to, there's no battery, but if she didn't want him to, it is battery? Confusing to say the least.
ReplyDeleteshe must be doing this bc he's a celeb and she's after $
ReplyDeleteThis is not the first time that he has been charged with this. There was more than one incident in which he was accused (only one that resulted in charges) when he was in Minnesota filming Angels in the Outfield, he was accused of inappropriate behavior towards a 17-year-old (this one resulted in charges). There was another incident with a make-up artist which I believe was settled out of court.
ReplyDeleteSorry I show up as Unknown, I used to have a user name and it just won't show up anymore (I think it was klynn).
Not Danny Concannon! I'm gonna be really pissed if he turns out to be a groper.
ReplyDeleteI just just thinking the same thing - Danny would never do anything like that!!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if he bought her a goldfish?
yes, this one is confusing.
ReplyDeleteOur tax dollars at work protecting us from these vicious predators!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought. It sounds fishy to me. Why is that battery?
ReplyDeleteYes, the charge seems bogus. But a grown man and woman making out in a movie theatre?? Jesus, get a room!!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to this, hes a groper

ReplyDeleteSeriously? I don't know. I feel like everyone is doing anything for publicity and money now-a-days in this horrible economy. This woman could have set this guy up.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware of a prior incident, so I looked around for some info. Turns out it was about 20 yrs ago, the gal never contacted police, but contacted a lawyer and filed a civil suit 5 months later (she also filed a suit against an NFL player at the same time). Busfield also filed a countersuit. I don't know how that turned out.
ReplyDeleteThe original suit against Busfield was thrown out by the Judge.
He was accused of sexual assault on a 17 year old in 1994, so he has a history of pervy behavior.
ReplyDeleteTimmy I don't mind a little mutual grope and grind. Call me! Xoxo aunt jess
ReplyDeleteIf this turns out not to be true and he isn't charged, what a disgrace there was publicity.
ReplyDeleteThis is so weird. I saw him and a woman that I actually assumed was his wife walking a little dog when I was out walking my dog maybe not even two or three weeks ago. He was a perfect gentlemen and really nice. It was in the same town so he either lives here or she does. Odd story, not enough details to feel one way or another though but I do hope it's not true b/c I loved him as CJ's boyfriend on The West Wing.
ReplyDeleteOh, grow up. This story smells like publicity whore. This is not what the cops are for, mediating a bad date. If you don't like a guy (or a gal), get up and walk away. The End. It's not difficult and, if you are a grown up, you do not need the cops to swing by and ratify your decision. This happened in a public place. All she had to do was scream if he was raping her or doing something unwanted sexually.
ReplyDeleteSince none of us knows the whole story, I guess it would be foolish to speculate, no?
ReplyDelete@Amartel - I guess you might not know that women have been raped in public places. Screaming didn't help them, so it's not really as simple as you'd like to believe. Sexual assault is much more complicated than the more simple-minded among us would like to believe.
I'm also confused by this story. There either has to be much more to her side or she is jumping on the masseuse train to Allred-ville.
ReplyDeleteThe picture you posted makes him look really creepy to me. It's his eyes.
" I guess you might not know that women have been raped in public places."
ReplyDeleteYou guess wrong. And sexual assault is only complicated when you're wielding a big fat double standard.
Amartel, what double standard are you talking about? I'm with Madlyb, if someone was forceful with me, even f I stopped him, it is still something I would report to the police so he wouldn't exhibit the same behaviour with others.
