He says he has chronic heart rejection. Is that a form of cancer? I've never heard of it.

This is too sad. I could not watch it all.

  5. I had to come out of lurking mode to say how touching and heartbreaking this was to see...especially because i have a teenage boy. I would be beyond devastated if my son was terminally ill. Much love and peace to you Shawn, and Godspeed.

  6. I read yesterday that people said he just wanted attention. To that I say, he's 17 and dying, so let him shine.

  7. This right here is why I don't ever want to hear my friends, family and myself included complain about anything, because it could be sooo much worse.

I pray the good Lord will provide favor mercy and grace on him and his family in this difficult time.

  9. I think that most people want to leave some "mark" out there in the world, and I think this is exactly what he's doing. This boy's life is going to be taken way too soon for him to accomplish this in a more "normal" way; anyone out there who takes offense to this has obviously been lucky enough to not deal with anything like this in their lives.

It's a good reminder to live every day like it could be your last, and be grateful for what you have and not negative about what you lack.

  10. Oh my dear lord is this video heartbreaking. Heartless assholes can say what they want but most of us don't know when our expiration date is. He does. I cannot imagine and as I'm sitting here with my four month old baby boy on my lap with tears in my eyes, I'm reminded of my father on his deathbed who said, "Hey sweetheart. Don't cry for me. I'm just an asshole whose time has come. I lived to see you grow up. I lived to love your mother for over 30 years. A lot of people have it much worse. Don't forget that."

  12. There's no way I could watch this video...the title is hard enough. I just hope that whatever days this young man has left are full of love and joy.

  13. Have an 18 year old son and simply can't watch this. There is nothing worse than this.

  14. I watched 30 seconds of this and had to stop. My son is having serious health problems, and drs haven't ruled out cancer yet (more tests scheduled). May god bless this young man, his family, and friends.

  15. Shaun doesn't have cancer. He suffers from a chronic heart condition. He's had 2 transplants that were rejected.
His doctors say he cannot withstand a 3rd procedure. So now it's a matter of how long the heart he has will function properly.

This message was only intended for his Facebook friends but he used YouTube to upload the video and it went viral.
