Sofia Vergara & Nick Loeb Split

Reports are circulating that Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb split this week and told all their friends at the Met Ball. Nick and Sofia gave up a long time ago. Remember when he withdrew from running for the US Senate? It happened before then. Sofia told him that she couldn't marry him and be there while he ran because she had a career and wanted to be an actress and everything was going great and she couldn't stop what she had worked so hard for and Nick gave it a shot, but it was just never the same after that. When someone tells you what they are doing is way more important than what you are doing, then it probably is not going to work out. Nick probably has found someone and wants to go public so you have to let things go publicly and not just keep on pretending.

Why should she give up or slow down her career to play housewife b/c that's what's expected in Washington? Good for her for putting herself and her career first. Women don't do it nearly enough as they should. Go Sophia!

  5. I'm interested to see whom she'll date next.

  6. I'd like to know how Sofia wanting to have her career in any way equates her thinking her career is actually more important than anybody else's? Good for her for standing up for herself and being honest.

Sounds like he just wanted a L'il Lady whose career is HIS career. Someone to be his shadow at functions and gaze up at him lovingly; a Stratford Wife.

That'd be a show I'd watch, "The Real Housewives of Stratford."

women are *generally* expected to put their careers behind their man's.
    Just no.
    good for her.

  9. @DJane, I don't think that this refers to the White House Correspondants' Dinner blind item; that one specified that it was a married couple on a break.

  11. I think he's running for Senate again so he wants someone to be at his side like a nice stay-at-home GOP political wife. Good for her!

  12. If ANYONE has doubted Enty's sex and or gender before please take this post as an example of how utterly heterosexual male he is!!!

I've never seen a post on here that is so effing sexist in the 4 odd years I've been on here.

    Co-sign the lovelies above^, that is all~

  13. It doesn't sound like that is what Sophia is saying at all. She is saying what she is doing is just as important and she doesn't want to sacrifice that.

  14. Sofia is beautiful, but her now "ex,?!" in some pics he is hot, in others he looks awful - this being one of those bad pics!!

  15. its not the stratford wives, its the stepford wives. but I agree wholeheartedly that she should never be expected to give up her career for anyone elses. and yes, enty, that is a very sexist post. she's so hot now she has a line of crappy towels and sheets at kmart.

  16. So if any of the trolls that want to call this site BS show up, I have a question for you... I remember when Enty hinted about Sofia's split a little while back. If he's just some hack in Vermont or wherever, then how did he know before anyone else really mentioned it? It's not the first time he's hinted at something before other sites catch on and been proven right. Yes, I take just about everything here (and on every gossip site) with a huge grain of salt, but regardless of what he really does for a living, I think he gets a lot of legit info.

This post is horribly written. Sofia has every right to her career, and long distance relationships are hard enough, but adding 2 very public careers to the mix makes it even harder I'm sure.

  17. @FS - yes, I take all my gossip with a liberal helping of salt.

Then there's those ones you see over and over and over and over again (Travolta anyone?).

  18. I think it is fine that she put her career on an equal par with his. Good for her for being honest with him from the beginning. Not everyone is cut out for all the bullshit of political life. If she didn't want to be a part of that dog and pony show, then she was right to tell Nick. Obviously, they have different life goal and priorities. There's nothing wrong with either of them for that, it just means their relationship had run its natural course.

@FS There are a billion and one conspiracies as to who, what, where, how and why Enty is and who and how many actually write the site if it's not the original Enty anymore. I think we should all, including myself, get over it and just accept it for what it is, unverifiable entertainment unless you have a direct line to the source (and I don't mean the person(s) who write this blog.)

  20. Good for her. I'm sure she had to make a lot of sacrifices in her life trying to break through while being a single momma at such a young age.

She should hook up with George Clooney. That would be hawt.

@ msgirl - No offense, but there's been just as many doormat Dem wifeys as well as Republicans: Jackie O and Hillary Clinton come to mind. Granted, I think both women have done great things in their lifetime, but you have to admit they made some major sacrifices to "Stand by Their Man."

I hate when this blog gets political, but sometimes I just can't hold my tongue. We don't all hold the same political views. I think sometimes that is forgotten on here.

  21. I hope that she finds another non Hollywood dude who's way hotter than this one. She doesn't need to mess with an actor freak.

  22. If a man refused to quit his career to be a political spouse, it would be NBD. You'd probably even think the woman was selfish for asking. Why the implied criticism of her?

  23. Susan, point taken - as soon as I posted I realized I was just putting the BS on one party. What I was referring to are the evangelistics, which are admittedly in the GOP, who believe in the "christian" wife who comes second.

  24. I give Sophia huge credit for being up front with him from the beginning.
She is just as entitled to what she is working for as he is.

  25. Haven't read all the previous posts so sorry if I am repeating something.
    First, Go Sofia!
Second, I stupidly chose to put my career on hold for my husband and then kids, who i am home with. I love them all yet i could have done all of this and still had my career.
My stupid decision has led to major strain in my life, my marriage and a lot of other areas.
You Must take care of yourself first or you can't be there for the ones you love.

  26. Not to mention Sophia Vergera has gotta be bringing in some serious bank right now. That girl is everywhere. Plus, her line at Kmart. She would be insane to give it up.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What everyone here has said. She didn't wait until after marriage to break the news to him that her career is every bit as important as his. Go Sofia!

    ReplyDelete
  28. She can do a lot better than that guy, what a beauty and the best pairing.

  29. This is one of the lame plotlines on the show Smash.

    ReplyDelete
  30. She does have a lot of other people relying on her now - her cast mates, her show's crew, a network - a huge audience. What was she just supposed to bail on all of them? I'd imagine she's under contract and couldn't get out of it. And how do we (or Enty) know what she specifically said to him? Is there a recording of Sofia saying her career was MORE Important than his?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think the folks calling this post sexist aren't picking up the details. It was NICK who DID sacrifice HIS career so that he could marry Sophia, presumably because he loved her. She originally didn't want to marry him because her career was more important than THE RELATIONSHIP.

Enty simply pointed out that their relationship was troubled from the get-go before they ever got married because of this. He's not making a judgement of Sophia, he's just pointing out that they never should have married in the first place.

  32. I don't get why people are always jumping on Entys' ass. Either they don't like his posts or it's not really him posting or whatever.

It's a great site and I'm not gonna b-tch at Enty (or whoever). If it got to where something really bugged me I'd just stay away awhile.
