Snoop Loves Susan Boyle - Hates The Voice

Who knew Snoop Dogg was such a fan of Susan Boyle. He says that he has all her songs and listens to them and that he thinks The Voice will never find a true star because of the blind audition process. He does like the way the X Factor and American Idol shows are formatted but wants to have his own show called "America's Hottest Hood Artists." He says that inner city artists don't have access to these shows. I think they have access to audition, but I think the he is right in that the producers will never take on someone who raps or does hip hop. American Idol has turned into white guys with guitars and is the same every year. Although I think television doesn't really need another talent show, I think there is room for a show like he describes. Now, if he would just host a reality show with Susan where they listen to music in a hot box then that would be gold.

  1. I would watch that in a heartbeat. Especially if they have freestyle battles. Those are my favourite.

  4. I love Snoop, so I would watch!
I think it's hard to rap...

AI sucks! Kelly Clarkson is the only singer I like from that show.

  5. I could not agree more, go into the hood and find the next young Whitney or Michael.

  10. Really, because a black soul singer from the inner city finished 3rd on Idol this season (Josh) and one finished top 8 (different set up) on The Voice, and he had HIV to boot.

  11. I would definitely watch this show.

@Brenda Love - I would love to do that.

I wonder what he is really like behind closed doors.....

  12. It would be cool if he and Susan smoked some weed while listening to the music in the hot box. We know what he's like stoned - what would Susan be like???

  13. Without having read the Snoop article, I think he has a valid point. How are these folks able to make it here and there in the follow-up rounds (going to Vegas, going to LA) if they don't have money to buy a plane ticket & stay in a hotel?

I wondered about this myself the other week while watching America's Got Talent and saw the homeless guy get through to Vegas.

PS. I love Snoop. I met him once and he's very charming and down to earth.

  14. I would love to watch "America's Hottest Hood Artists." I wish Snoop would get Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West to help judge. (sorry, but I'm a fan of Yeezy)

Most of my friends would hate it. They want a hologram of Jerry Garcia.

  15. You KNOW Snoop gets high and watches YouTube videos of this shit for hours on end. I'd love to check out his Favorites Playlist.

He knows about American Idol's WGWG.

  16. @Ingrid - LOL!

I, too, am tired of the same old singing talent shows. I hope Snoop's idea gets picked up. That would be a blast to watch.

    I like Kanye, too.

  17. reticulation, the shows pay for their travel and lodging once they make it past the first round.

I don't know why everyone worries so much about Idol's WGWG syndrome. Of course, a cute white guy is going to win thanks to the teeny boppers and housewives, but you get a fair amount of diversity up until the final round.

  18. AI screwed itself because they're stuck in the tween demographic. They expand their pool by lowering the age requirement, but after, what?, 10 seasons the talent pool is dry. I'll be happy when it goes off the air. AI is a punishment for when football ends.

  19. "...the talent pool is dry."

Then how come this season had some of the best talent in years?
