ReplyDeleteI agree, Sylvia. While I am happy that he is publicly supporting same sex marriages, I wish he wouldn't have tried to use this as a tool during an election year. I know it's politics and all of that. It just feels cheap to me.

ReplyDeleteI think coming out in support of same sex marriage was incredibly risky, especially when Obama was sitting in pretty comfortable position due to the improving economy and the GOP candidates all pretty much being jokes. While polls indicate that a slight majority of Americans are in favor of same sex marriage, there isn't a whole lot of evidence that the majority of voters who actually SHOW UP on Election Day are. Please see the thirty-plus states that have passed bans.
ReplyDeleteBe as cynical as you please, but this could really bite Obama in the ass come November. This could easily mobilize certain voters who were neutral on Obama/leaning Obama/apathetic and might not have voted at all.

ReplyDeleteK, yes, Alice is Trevor Eve's daughter. Her mom is Sharon Maughan, the actress who was in those flirty Taster's Choice TV commercials back in the day with Giles from Buffy. If you watch "She's Out of My League," the actors who play her parents are actually her parents.
