Presidential Debates In Mexico Are Way Different Than In The Rest Of The World

On Sunday night, candidates running for President in mexico had a televised debate. Nothing new there. Almost every country in the world with free elections does the same thing. What they don't usually have is a former Playboy Playmate dressed in a very revealing dress carrying out a bowl of topics for the candidates to pick. I think networks would see a dramatic change in viewership if these changes were implemented in other countries. I think anything you can do to get more people to be involved and to watch is a good thing.

  1. Well in all fairness they should have had a hot dude in a thong for the female candidate as well, lol

  2. That is just so Mexico! My uncle used to watch tons of stuff on Spanish-language TV (we're from San Antonio) because of all the lovely ladies, and he barely spoke the language.

Viva la raza! (don't know how to make the upside down question mark, or I would.)

  4. This is hilarious. We should have Snooki moderate our next televised debate with Hawaiian Tropic girls holding the time countdowns.

  5. Now this would give me a reason to watch the debates.

  6. An homage to the Madonna Gaultier look of the early 90s, almost.

  7. You've gotta select Spanish in your control panel language keyboard options if you use a computer. Dunno about an IPad. I toggle back and forth on my 'puter. ¡Phones are easy! ¿Entiende?

  10. this was a stupid move. mexico is getting raked over the coals for the playmate 'presentadora' all over latin media, w/ brazil and spain thrown in for good measure.

while latin countries tend to be oversexualized in general, politics had always sort of been the unspoken area was was normally kept to military-stiff upper lip-serious standards. everyone is major side-eying over this, and the mockery it's making out of mexico's politics (cuz you know, politics in mexico are such an honorable and ethical thing and all, lol).

and we think WE have problems.

  12. ^vicki, i'm sorry but i have no idea what that is. given it's context, do you mean good that mexico is being called out?

  13. No, that people are calling bullshit on the stunt. That's what I got from your comment anyway.

  14. ^thx for clarifying, vicki, i'd never heard that phrase before. (where is it from?) and no, not that it was a stunt, but rather that having the playmate was in incredibly poor taste.

So whoring up women is a good thing? Yes, I would appreciate it greatly to watch a debate and have a cleavage bearing woman in a tight dress handing out questions. We should just move all debates to strip clubs, perhaps that would be better.
