Molly Ringwald & Rielle Hunter Had A Threesome With American Psycho Author
This one is one of those stories that you say could never have happened but it did. Well, maybe. Yesterday, American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis said that he found himself in a coked up threesome in the late 1980's with Rielle Hunter. Rielle is of course the mistress of John Edwards and the mother of one of his children. Rielle immediately denied the event, but Molly Ringwald then Tweeted that she knew who the third person was. So, was Molly the third person? Did Molly just knew who the third person was? How strange is it that these three would all be coked up having a threesome in the 80's and that Rielle would arguably be the most infamous of them now 30 years later.
I think this all happened before she changed her name. I believe a character in one of his novels is based on her or maybe I'm making that up. Can't look it up at work but this Rielle broad has been infamous for awhile now. She was involved in some scandal in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteHe wrote - I almost found myself...
ReplyDeleteSo, it didn't happen but it almost did? Huh?
I wish someone had asked Molly about this during the Redit questioning!
ReplyDelete"I almost found myself" sounds very much like it didn't happen, but almost did. Still very interesting though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know thay Hunter was known for anything else. That's got me curious!
I just read a bunch of scathing articles about Rielle Hunter. She is a real trick. All of the people in the John Edwards scandal are smarmy.
ReplyDeleteThis Reille is some piece of work. Shes had a checkered life indeed. She went by other names before she believe it or not, picked reille.
ReplyDeleteAnd kudos to author for keeping classy and not kissing and telling- not! Cant anyone keep big mouth shut??!!
Excuse me! Its rielle!! My bad lol
DeleteI thought Ellis was gay ?
ReplyDelete@MISCH No, he's just an asshole who clearly hates women.
DeleteOff topic but how hard is it to spellcheck and just proofread the posts you've set up to be released the next day? Unless this person is doing them on an iPhone (mine is the biggest bastard there is correcting words that are right, eating some, and adding periods instead of b's, n's, m's or a space) there's really no excuse for such sloppiness. These mistakes are so basic it really just takes one read through. If you were my employee I'd have fired you by now Enty #?
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is named Brielle which is way to close to Rielle for comfort.
ReplyDeleteLess Than Zero is a much more memorable work. Maybe EMTY knows him from his own youth? Maybe actually ENTY, Rielle and Ally Sheedy, subing one Breakfast Clubber for another? And the fourth, author Ellis stepped out on the swamp meat opp?
ReplyDeleteA threesome that happened over 30 years ago with two people i dont know! Not very exciting! Lol
ReplyDeleteI was shocked at how cozy Molly Ringwald was with Ellis. Ellis actually claims to be bisexual. If you've ever read any of his books, Less Than Zero and Imperial Bedrooms, then you would wonder why Molly would hang out with him. It's just too 80s for me.
ReplyDeleteNot only did he tweet that he ALMOST found himself in the threesome (as others point out), the fact that Molly Ringwald said that she thinks she knows who the 3rd was doesn't mean it was her.
ReplyDeleteTypically the word "almost" means it was close but didn't happen. I have found myself almost in several situations. Sounds like it didn't actually happen.
ReplyDeleteIs that what life has become? For people that are on Twitter, do you check it that often so you see every comment? And this happened a week ago and went unnoticed til now. Who "shared" it with the world?
ReplyDeleteOh whatever, I don't care. I just like to bitch about Twitter.
The lead character in Jay McInerney's Story of My Life is based on Rielle Hunter, nee Lisa Jo Druck. My guess for third player in the almost threesome is Robert Downey, Jr.
ReplyDeleteJay McInerney was likely the 3rd party. His former girlfriend was Hunter. Both Ellis and McInerey are vastly overrated writers (IMHO).
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't make sense.
ReplyDeleteRielle Hunter isn't old enough to be coked up in the eighties and still spit out a kid in 2010, (or 2009 or 2011 whenever she brought forth the youngin').
I gave birth in the 1980's.
I am too old to have babies.
Thank you God.
American Psycho is an amazing book. As for Rielle, she was born 64 so I am pretty sure she would be able to get coked up in the 80s... She just had kids at a later age.
ReplyDeleteanita
ReplyDeleteEllis tweeted it himself and the Daily Mail and other outlets picked it up. I don't tweet, but there are people who are paid to read tweets and pick up the info and well, you know, it can grow from there $$.
Ellis' book "Story Of My Life" about a hot mess with a nose candy problem is based on Rielle Hunter. When I found that out years after I read the book, I was all, "GIRL."
ReplyDeleteBTownGirl I think Jay McInerney wrote "Story of My Life"...

ReplyDeleteJust came on to say the same thing as jetfuelgenius. The main character in Jay McInerney's "Story of My Life" becomes a victim of Patrick Bateman's in Ellis' "American Psycho." Thank you for that information, Wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteBEE likes boys but he'll sleep with girls. And he prefers younger guys (just younger than him, not teenagers). Glamorama is my fave BEE novel. It's so unbelievable that it's believable.
ReplyDeleteThen the 90's came along and it was time to feel guilty and wholesome
ReplyDeleteThe 80's were embarassing
ReplyDeleteI disagree -- the 80s were awesome (totally awesome!). I was in high school and college then, and it was great.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very odd mix of people to be involved in an almost threesome, if Molly was indeed the third.
ReplyDeleteI yearn for the day twitter is not a source for news, but I don't think that day will come for a long, long time.
The "almost" almost sounds like Molly was asked to take part & said Hell No & now she's teasing him about it.
ReplyDelete@53keys she was born in 1964 so yah could totally have been coked out in 80s and still have baby in 2008 at 44
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Bret Eston Ellis doesn't hate women. Patrick Bateman does, in American Psycho. Bret Easton Ellis both hates and drools over vapid pretty people.
ReplyDeleteI also doubt that Bret Easton Ellis is in real life a fan of Phil Collins-era Genesis, Whitney Houston or Huey Lewis and the News...
I always loved the shared characters from McInerney's & BEE's novels.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my world has come crashing down around me if it is in fact true that Story of My Life was based on Rielle Hunter.
This post annoys me because the headline does not match the body of the story. It's just leaping to a grand assumption without anything backing it up. Argh.
ReplyDeleteLess than Zero is so 80s to me. I totally read the book. My parents did not care what we read as long as we were reading, because I was probably like 12 when I read it and didn't understand a damn thing in it.
OT comment about OT comments: All you people who go on endlessly about typos in posts and when the posts are made and who's doing the posting - soooo tired seeing your posts. How much time do you guys spend thinking about this and commenting about this and commenting about comments on this. You guys are so boring and you need to move on. If you don't like CDAN and you don't trust who's writing it, GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gossip blog meant to be FUN. FUN, folks! It's not investigative journalism! (Because that doesn't exist anymore.) It's a gossip blog.
(stepping off soap box)
Less Than Zero is so terrible but I still read it once every 2 or 3 years. It's so dumb and lurid. Makes me want to hang a Nagel painting in my living room.
ReplyDeleteJay McInerney and Bret Easton Ellis shared a character based on Rielle Hunter, who appeared in I think at least three of their novels, maybe more. This is well know. Throw me in as guessing this to be the almost real-life threesome too.
ReplyDeleteEnty - what's wrong with you? Your heading is totally misleading. You heading says that she did, but if you read the article she says no such thing. Come on!
ReplyDeleteThe (almost) third person would have been Rielle's ex-boyfriend from the '80s and Bret's longtime close friend and fellow literary Brat Packer Jay McInerney. Duh.
ReplyDeleteI love both Jay McInerney's and Bret E. Ellis' books.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would love to meet BEE. I wonder what makes him tick !
Ok let me try this again!! Ugh!!..... Lisa Druck (Rielle Hunter) and Ellis are the same age as me all of us born in good ol 64 Ellis was the same day same month n same year as me (that was spooky) n McInerney is 9 years older he had the money the pad the coke the pot the ice cold drinks n a hawt lil coke whore n most likely a man whore too the nailed the hell out of Lise sent here home with part favores then the boys played (puke) Molly being 4 years younger I just dont think so even for hollywired
ReplyDeleteU all must be book worms I was one of them crazy people that was out every night lookin for some trimm or gettin some "mostly gettin wink" but ya have to understand AIDS really wasnt a well known problem untill the late 80ies n then it was suposed ta be only in the gay communities n people didnt hang up their whore habits untill we found out about the real dangers in the early 90ies
