Matthew Morrison Delivered Two Babies
All of a sudden every baby story that has ever been kept inside a celebrity is coming out as they do press for What To Expect. Matthew Morrison is no exception. Did you know Matthew Morrison has delivered two babies? Me either and he is not sure if even the mothers of the two babies he delivered know they were delivered by Matthew when he was in high school.
"I've been in a delivery room once, where I delivered two babies. My dad is a midwife. I was a senior in high school and it was supposedly take your kid to work day, I guess. My dad just kind of just talked me through it. I don't think the women really knew what was going on anyway."
Do they call men who are midwives midhusbands? So, you have someone who has been helping you through your entire pregnancy and becoming comfortable with that person and want them to deliver your baby instead of a doctor and he lets his high school kid deliver your baby?
Why is that photo different? Is it the glasses? He looks rather Beckham-ey.
ReplyDeleteMale midwives are great - you have a ready target if the father isn't around! Nah, kidding, they are really great, from what I've heard from friends who've had them. And why wouldn't they be? Well done to Matthew too: must have been an amazing experience for him as well.
ReplyDeleteive had two babies, i call bs!
ReplyDeleteCalling bs on what exactly...
DeleteI once dated a guy who, as it turned out, had a dad who was a midwife. Aaand his dad delivered both my sisters. It was strange.
ReplyDeleteTechnically, the mother delivers the baby anyway. Otherwise the whole room would be screaming "PUSH!!!" at the doctor or midwife.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching a show about a pilot who let his kid take the controls, and the plane crashed killing everyone on board.
ReplyDeleteI don't think his father would have allowed him to do anything but observe - that's where the bs comes in. You don't get talked through a twin delivery unless you are the only person available and it's an emergency.
ReplyDeleteand after he climbed Everest...
ReplyDeleteActually, he didn't say it was a twin delivery. He said he wasn't sure if the women were aware. It sounds to me like he's saying his dad had two patients deliver that day and he delivered both.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the liabililty for someone unlicensed to deliver? I call BS. His dad could have lost his midwife license. He probably observed and handed things to his dad. And really, who wants a teenager down there when you are delivering???
ReplyDeleteI agree with you guys saying no way would he be allowed to do that. He's exagerating fo sho.
ReplyDeleteWho wants a random kid in the room?
ReplyDeleteI'm calling BS too...No way in hell would he be allowed to touch anyone. The legal liabilities are just huge.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there were male midwives.
ReplyDeleteI knew who was on my business end when I delivered. I find it hard to believe any woman didn't know a teenager was delivering her baby.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice picture of Buddy Holly.
ReplyDeleteMatthew is such a turd.
My brother in law is a midwife. You know in Meet The Parents how Ben Stiller is a nurse? Imagine the jokes if he was a midwife that my other sister and I tell behind his back. He's also a certified lactation specialist. It's hysterical. BUT he is amazing at it. If I ever got pregnant I'd want him to be my midwife. When he met my sis he was in the army infantry, so he's not totally feminine. It's just so funny. I think my sister suggested (pushed) him bc he was staying in the army and it's a job that will pretty much never get deployed and she needs him for their 8 kids. He's a really cute dad too. But yeah. The family supports him and is happy but it's really funny.
ReplyDeleteAnother one callin bs here. No way did this happen.
ReplyDeleteI am a nurse. This guy is full of crap. And if, on the outside chance he is NOT full of crap, then his father is guilty of so many counts of professional misconduct that he should be stripped of his nursing license immediately.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am going to hop on a soapbox for a brief moment in support of the countless men busting their asses as nurses every day, just as I do. They are not a novelty. They are medical professionals. And there is nothing odd about men working as midwives, just as there is nothing odd about men working as OBGYNs. And dismount...
ReplyDeleteGood way to get your dad in shit, arrogant arsehole.
ReplyDelete"it was supposedly take your kid to work day." Supposedly, indeed. Sounds like a totally made up story.
