Radar is reporting that the attorney who is representing the two masseurs who have filed suit against John Travolta has several others who have been in contact with him and may also be filing their own lawsuits. At some point, if the number gets to five or six do you think John will finally give up the charade or will he try and fight each of these and claim nothing happened. At what number do you give in? I think the average person who only gets their gossip from Kneepads was probably skeptical when the first masseur stepped forward. To a Kneepads reader, John Travolta is straight as an arrow who loves his family, flies airplanes to relax and also uses them to save the world. They know he is a great actor and is dealing with the tragic loss of a son, has a full head of hair and has been blessed to have his wife get pregnant and magically deliver them another baby.
What they never hear about is his religion or any rumor that has ever surfaced about him. They never hear about the issues his son faced which he denied his son ever had. They never hear one bad thing. In a Kneepads world everything is perfect. So, when a masseur steps forward and claims what he did, if you are a Kneepad believer you brush it off. A second accusation the next day though makes even the most Kool-Aid drinking reader stop for a second and think. If four or five or ten suddenly come forward, then that is when the impression of the world changes. Then, even the most casual fan is converted and that can never be changed back.
Doesn't look good for Barbarino....

ReplyDeletekinda reminds me of tiger woods...when all that crap came out about him cheating..first it was one woman and everyone was like shes just in it for the money... then another came out, then over 20...it was like WTH is going on??!?!!?? There got to be some truth to this!
ReplyDeleteBut in a "kneepads" world, Tiger is supposed to be this wonderful golfer who married some lady from sweden or something and they had two kids, where nothing bad happens.
John Travolta is going to have to go to "rehab" to fix whatever issue they come up with as the reason for him doing whatever it is he was doing to save face.
Oh man.. this is going to get ugly.
ReplyDeleteit is going to be very interesting to see which angle Kelly plays.
Isn't there a certain point at which Travolta's career is over? He's bald, weighs 250 pounds, and the second chapter of his career came only after he made that Tarantootie film. I think his appeal is kitschy and quirky, or was. His IMDB listing for the past five years is kind of sparse, and I don't think he can open a picture anymore. Is he really that big of a star anymore?
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that I'm glad that it is finally coming out (pun intended)? Maybe a little.
ReplyDeleteNext, I expect Kristie Alley to come out and say that this is a conspiracy against his family.
ReplyDeleteBahahaha!
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
@Cathy-I was wondering the same thing! I was waiting for the "attacking our family because of money or because of our "religion" angle too.
ReplyDeleteIf anything, I would worry about the safety of the accusers because the COS, yeah, they are some scary bastards. Seriously.
I really John Travolta. He was my favorite actor on that pretentious crapfest with James Lipton, The Actor's Studio. Did Andy Cohen get rid of that one too?
ReplyDeleteTravolta came off as quite wise and reflective. I loved what he said about rejection: "you're going to fit in somewhere."
Travolta was also smart with his money during his down years AND found a second career in flying airplanes. He is no fake AngieJo about flying.
It's too bad he fell in with tha COS cult though.
A number of masseurs suddenly coming out of the woodwork all at once to file lawsuits appears like a money grab regardless of who you believe, and as the number of accusers goes up, the likelihood that John will financially settle with each out of court goes down. Unless they can produce proof (unlikely imo), it's a he said/he said situation that ultimately goes nowhere, so what's the point.
ReplyDeleteit's a conspiracy against the Scientology for me(roll eyes) because every very famous scientologic actor is rumored to be gay
ReplyDeleteJoElla - Kelly will stand by her man. Would you expect anything less?
ReplyDelete@Angel - it's possible that all these new guys that the lawyer mentioned may have contacted him to back up the other two, rather than be interested in filing a lawsuit.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think that the lawsuits were filed as John Does for two reasons - 1) they're claiming to be sex assault victims and 2) to stay hidden as long as possible because of the COS. Everyone knows about their tactics.
I kind of feel bad for the guy in that he has had a tough few years.
ReplyDeleteI think every masseuse that gave him a handy is coming forward, and I don't think they were all 'strong armed' into doing it.
This probably has celebs that work their kinks out on a regular basis rethinking their habits. They all seem to think they are untouchable, and he took it to far.
@angel - I respectfully disagree. As more accusers came out in the Penn State scandal, did that also seem like a money grab? If it were me, I'd be too scared to take on Travolta and CoS myself, but if others were, it would feel like there's safety in numbers.
ReplyDelete"If four or five or ten suddenly come forward, then that is when the impression of the world changes".
ReplyDeleteWhat are the qualifications for this to become a class-action suit?(I'm not being sarcastic)
"They never hear about the issues his son faced which he denied his son ever had."
This is the part that troubles me..really troubles me re Co$.
eh, a man's sexuality isn't really interesting to me.
ReplyDeleteI felt badly for him, being so repressed and closeted.
ReplyDeleteBut there is no excuse for sexual assault.
Long time reader, first time poster. Just a thought after reading. Didn't Enty say that he and Kelly had separated? Maybe he was planning on coming out finally but she and CO$ then decided to 'encourage' these men to come forward with their cases. Just saying the timing is a bit suspicious that after all these years they decide to sue. Maybe the CO$ is also scared that if he comes out and comes clean about the cult that he can cause a lot of damage so they are trying to stop him? I know it sounds paranoid on my part, but well...stranger things have happened.
ReplyDeleteThere have been rumors about how unhappy he is and wants to come out....
ReplyDeleteOver the last couple days I've been on different sites and seen LOTS of commenters with friends and family in the hospitality or PR industries who have shared similar stories.
ReplyDeleteThere are LOTS of masseur guys who have had this experience and we can expect this to HIT THE FAN.
I like Travolta and feel sorry for him but this should be juicy.
@suefer, I guess we'll have to wait and see. While I find John's behavior reprehensible if true, I'm not particularly sympathetic towards the masseur who initiated legal action. He could have left at any time but chose not to, and he accepted the double payment for his services that John offered. His behavior doesn't fit the profile of a victim, but his lawsuit sure fits the profile of an opportunist.
ReplyDelete@Cathy, young school children verses adult masseurs = 2 entirely different situations imo.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is the push out of the COS that John needs.
ReplyDeleteIt would be amazing on so many levels to see a high profile celeb cut ties to that cult.
Kelly will use this as an excuse to divorce him outright and the CO$ will use her and this story as revenge.
ReplyDeleteHe'll only be able to redeem himself if he comes out against $cientology in Kneepads and then releases an autobiography.
Can't help but giggle @ Tarantoonie.
ReplyDeletethe people who think this is only about his sexuality are wrong. yes, apparently he is gay and is closeted.
ReplyDeletethe real issue is that he appears to be a sexual predator, taking advantage of these men (and so far they are only men it seems). and whether anyone thinks its not as bad as if he had done it to children, sexual assault is sexual assault. there are specific laws against assaults on children, but sexual assaults on adults are still serious felonies. people go to jail for decades. this isn't a criminal matter, but it could be.
and in terms of proof, a person's testimony is proof. this is going to be a big mess. I feel sad for all of the men he's done this too, as it seems there are many.
My best friend loves this guy and she is the perfect sheep to live in the haze he has created. She never believes anything I say about him.
ReplyDeleteAfter the debacle of his son dying while they did nothing medical to help him, I loathe him.
These stories don't surprise me at all, but I hope they fry him in the press - the sheeple press like USA today, People, Fox, etc.
huh
ReplyDeletehttp://youllneverspainthistownagain.com/travolta_emails.html
What's sad to me is that JT can no doubt find so many men who WANT to have sex with him. Instead, he chooses masseurs who happen to be straight and then sexually assaults them to convince them to partake in his games. This is truly predatory behavior. More than anything, I think he needs help--help with his grief, with his "marriage/family," and with CO$. If this lawsuit gets out of hand, I wouldn't be surprised if he disappeared--by his hand or not.
ReplyDelete@angel - still have to disagree with you. While the masseurs may be adults, their livelihood depends on having wealthy clients to cater to, so taking on the CoS puts both their lives and livelihoods in serious peril. I can see how it would be easier to come forward once others had.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a joke. Doesnt everyone have a massage therapist friend thats been hit on by JT
ReplyDeleteThis is really going to get interesting watching it all play out.
ReplyDeleteGood point about Kelly divorcing him. She can play the "I had no idea" game
I wonder if John goes this route because he doesn't condsider himself gay this way? Playing the 'ooh the massage felt so good, it went a wee bit too far' angle.
Sadly, I fear his team of lawyers are working on a 'grief from losing his son' angle. Even if this is just the teeny bit truth, this could backfire on him big time. He got a lot of heat thrown his way because they didn't propperly treat Jett.
annabella9, I don't know what country you live in, but in the U.S. legal system, a person's testimony is not necessarily considered "proof." If you have two people telling two different stories in a civil action, the judge/jury listens to both and decides which one is more likely to be telling the truth. You can't just get on the witness stand, tell your story, and expect to automatically be believed.
ReplyDeleteListening to the local radio station when this story broke, and a caller alleged that his reputation for this kind of thing was all over Detroit.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad on many levels. There is that John hasn't been able to be himself and just come out all ready. The other part is that I don't doubt these allegations, which means, that he has sexually harassed numbers of employees who had no recourse given his stature.
John just come out, and leave the poor staff alone!! they are just trying to make a living.
In the early 2000's he had a regular suite at the Hoyel Bel Age, pre remodel, and all of us regulars at the rather late cocktail hour would see him coming and oing. Worst kept secret, but it was the best ignored.
ReplyDelete@Vicki - that's some interesting reading.
ReplyDeleteWhat the Kneepads believing reader never hears is that the talk about JT started long before Kelly was in the picture. He's just had a really good pr team/CoS working hard to control his public image.
ReplyDelete@Vicki - that link is creepy. Between this and the serial killer thread from yesterday, I think I want to climb under a blanket and never get out.
ReplyDelete@Vicki - that link is creepy. Between this and the serial killer thread from yesterday, I think I want to climb under a blanket and never get out.
ReplyDelete@Texshan,I agree and could care less re the gay aspect (and your legal concerns are valid IMHO). My concern is whether or not JT's Co$ relationship stopped JT from seeking treatment for his son.
ReplyDeleteI know someone (male) who claims to have been propositioned by him. Apparently he isn't very discreet and once witnesses start coming forward it's not going to be pretty.
ReplyDeleteEight inches? Really?

ReplyDeleteI belonged to a gym in LA, close to where I used to live, and there were a few times that JT was 'escorted' into the gym...bypassed the gym and went straight to the 'wet area'...steam room, showers, etc. His behavior there was pretty brazen...staring guys down in the shower, getting an erection in the steam room...he was in full predatory mode. It was very uncomfortable. I saw this happen twice--he must have been filming a movie near downtown LA. And this was not the JT of Urban Cowboy days..his hair was completely white..his body had rolls of fat..it was a train wreck. I finally asked a gym employee about it later and he said that the gym wouldn't allow JT back in because of complaints.
ReplyDelete"Unless they can produce proof (unlikely imo), it's a he said/he said situation that ultimately goes nowhere, so what's the point." the point is that these victims want their day in court. imagine being at your job and being sexually harassed like this. and if you say, "well, look at what they do for a living", that is like saying the victim was askingfor it. if your house is broken into were you "asking for it" because you live in an expensive home?
ReplyDelete"He is no fake AngieJo about flying." his entire life is fake. flying is perhaps the only thing he is honest about being involved in. and why is it a competition with anyone else? the hollywood standard of behavior and truth is so askew that it shouldn't be used as a measure of anything.
What a mess. Sometimes you have to hit bottom --it sounds like he's been living this way a long time--and acting out this way for a long time before his son died. I hope the predator thing isn't true but it sounds bad. So sad that this mess has to impact his children--the daughter is old enough to hear of it if it blows up.
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is has the potential to "blow up real good" to quote Celebrity Farm Blow Up. The bigger problem here, as someone above pointed out, is that alleged sexual assault, at the very least, makes Travolta a much less sympathetic figure than just a closet gay. I think all it's going to take is one more accuser. Criminal charges will be considered. This is just gonna go away.
ReplyDeleteWhether they know it or not, the Scientolonuts are very deeply tied into anything Revolta does; knowing all of his dirt could very well backfire on the "church."
This just "isn't" gonna go away.
ReplyDeleteI can see why JT prefers hitting on straight men, i love lesbians.
ReplyDelete@Me, hold on a sec. The allegations are just in the alleged stage at this point, and as I pointed out in a subsequent comment, the masseur who initiated legal action could have left at any time but chose not to, and he accepted the double payment for his services that John offered - behavior that doesn't fit the profile of a victim, but together with his lawsuit fits the profile of an opportunist. There is also a new TMZ article up with a photocopy of John's restaurant receipt the day the 'victim' says alleged incident occurred which places John in New York.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody remember this article with Carrie Fisher semi outing John?
ReplyDeletehttp://gawker.com/5711598/carrie-fisher-tells-john-travolta-its-ok-to-be-gay
It seems I have always loved her boldness.
What do y'all think about the TMZ pic? I'm certainly no expert, but looks tinkered with - like the face is a little too big for the body.
ReplyDeleteMy brain took the day off. "it seems" makes no sense so let's pretend its not there.
ReplyDeleteI think the TMZ pic looks at least 50 pounds lighter than the actual John. And maybe 20-30 years younger.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't true, it is a cruel ambush. If it is true, he is a sexual predator. Sad all the way around.
ReplyDeleteBy "it," I mean the lawsuits. I think we can all concur that he is into the dudes.
ReplyDeleteI think John wanted to get busted because really all that money and you couldn't commit these men to signing confidentiality agreements or better yet, just hire escorts to create the illusion of being masseurs for you.
ReplyDeleteI have my doubts about these lawsuits but I am sure many more will come forward and the shit will hit the fan. I have always felt bad for JT that he was so deeply closeted and keeping up such a huge charade, but I had always believed that his 'spa behavior' was consensual and a heck of a lot more subtle than the stories that are coming out. This is predatory behavior and he needs to be held accountable for it.
ReplyDeleteSorry John, the 'grief' card cannot be pulled here. You may be overwhelmed with guilt because you did not give your son the care and treatment he needed, but there is no excuse for your horrible treatment of these men, all over the country apparently.
This is a feeding frenzy. Even if it's all true and he grabbed some Craigslist masseuses by the nuts - so what? Are Craigslist masseuses an endangered group? Are they the Untouchables, pure of heart, body, and soul until Big John came along?
ReplyDeleteJust admit it: no one really cares about the Craigslist masseuses. What he's really "guilty" of is being an uncooperating gay. Oh, and balding. And a follower of a very weird religion. Guilty!
@Amartel, oh yeah.. I forgot that these are Craigslist masseuses. That should help their victim credibility claims.. lol
ReplyDeleteAnd somewhere out there, Tom Cruise is starting to sweat just a little.....
ReplyDeleteregardless of what he may or may not be doing with his sex life, the rumors that he and Kelly did not treat their son are false. They sought out many treatments for their son, just didn't advertise it. Until you've lived with a severely affected autistic child, don't judge.
ReplyDelete@Cathy
ReplyDeleteThe Penn State scandal was about young kids, not adult masseurs. Not really the same.
I;m not sure what is meant by saying Travolta never talked about his son. He said he was autistic and had a seizure disorder. How much more do you need to know?
And I'm guessing most of you don't have kids with problems - it's not something parents discuss freely.
@ Amartel Amen! These masseurs are male escorts looking to cash in, NOT VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ABUSE. Who takes their clothes off to give another guy a massage? A legitimate massage therapist? Dick and balls hanging in clients face? I don't think so. Is Travolta in the closet? Probably. But, so what? A sexual predator? No fucking way.
ReplyDeleteJust saw a commercial for Inside Edition--it's their lead story promo for tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhether John is gay, straight, or something in between isn't really the relevant issue here. The issue is sexual assault.
ReplyDeleteHow would you feel about this case if it involved a different actor and legitimate female masseuses whose services did not offer happy endings?
That's how I'm looking at this.
Little Miss, being reminded of the Craigslist angle was like a light bulb coming on in my head. It's generally assumed that advertising your services there implies your massages go above and beyond the call of duty.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about male escort etiquette, but it seems to me that it's kind of out of line to grab anyone's genitals without permission, no matther what their occupation is.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Bankverse. I think John and Kelly were seperated and this is her payback to him, getting these guys to come forward. She will play the innocent "I had no idea" and the world will feel sorry for her. COS is 100% behind this because he wanted out. That's what I believe anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhen someone undresses and dangles his cock and balls in someone's face, in a private setting, I would say that is permission. What would u call it? A friendly "Hello",?
ReplyDeleteThis is why you need to keep prostitutes on your payroll like Kevin Costner.
ReplyDeleteI like John Travolta, whatever his sexual preference I think he should be true to it, for his own happiness.
ReplyDeleteAs for the masseurs, ugh. Not sure how to write this...I am a licensed massage therapist, 'masseur' has a more negative connotation to many so LMTs tend to focus on the former term to separate us from the "happy ending" group. My focus is medical massage, improving quality of life, pain reduction, even sports massage. In my neck of the woods I would lose my license forever and be unable to practice as an LMT in my state were I were accused of engaging in sexual acts while working. Clearly other states are more lax in their standards however I get the impression that these masseurs knew what they were getting into and are looking for a fast buck. If my client was doing anything JT is accused of I'd stop what I was doing and leave the room. Its basic Ethics 101, boundaries that these masseurs clearly did not give a crap about which has me believing they are in it for $$$ payout
My mom and sister did not believe me when I told them John is gay.
ReplyDeleteThey are full on Kneepads believers.
Anyway, yep, the shit is hitting the fan fer sure.
I watched Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere" last night and there was a scene where Stephen Dorff was getting a massage when the masseur start's taking off all his clothes. Apparently this is an actual thing - why didn't JT just use one of those guys?
ReplyDeleteI am also an LMT and I've heard lots of stories like this from legit people in the industry about him for years. Usually he just gets 'banned' with no consequence after several males on staff refuse to work on him. Also although the first person was a Craigslist massuese (aka prostitute) I believe the second one is an actual LMT and employee of a reputable hotel.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of his sexuality he is a predator and as a woman in this industry I know the type.
Teri Hatcher is framing him, she is that much of a cunt.
ReplyDeleteI'm from Toronto and this exact same story involving Travolta and a masseuse was told repeatedly when Hairspray was being filmed. He had hem come to his trailer AND got kicked out (I think?) of one spa for coming onto a male therapist.
ReplyDeleteWhy is COS against homosexuality?
Being sexually aggressive is NEVER ok. Having said that, I think like so many, that he was just kinda wanting this to happen. I have heard nothing but nice stories of how he is from friends and aquaintences who have had contact with him (of course, none of them were masseurs soooo) it just seems out of character. So, Johnny Boy, come on out of the closet and live a happy life for a change.
ReplyDeleteI could care less who sleeps with whom but it better be a CONSENTING adult.
ReplyDeleteI liked JT. I could care less if he's gay. If he is "bad touching" people, he becomes scum of the earth.
Steppy- re your question:
ReplyDelete"He said he was autistic and had a seizure disorder. How much more do you need to know?"
JT stated Jett's condition was autism in court.Previously he referred to Jett as having Kawasaki disease.
YOU KNOW Co$ does not recognize autism.Because of this fundamental belief on behalf of Scientologists, Jett certainly wasn't treated for autism, and was likely not appropriately treated for Kawasaki disease either.
Not getting the child medical attention is sometimes called child abuse.
I have been a massage therapist for more than 20 years. During that time I've also managed the spa in a beach resort in Miami. I've never had any direct experience with John Travolta nor have I met anyone who has but we've been hearing these stories about him for more than 10 years. The only surprise is that it took so long for someone to come forward.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you for certain {because it's happened to me} that if he had pulled that stunt on me I would have ended the massage immediately, tossed him from the spa and he would likely have been banned from the hotel.
I can also say for certain that I wouldn't have sued. Whether or not these episodes happened {and I don't doubt it} this is still a money grab. The only justification for a lawsuit is if the massage therapist lost his job and his ability to work.
As a side note, I did meet and massage Vidal Sassoon. Nicest celebrity I ever met. One of our older hairstylists idolized him and I mentioned it to Mr. Sassoon. He made a point of coming back to the spa, talking at length with the stylist and exchanging business cards with him. A classy man; a sad loss.
At the end of the day we have absolutely no idea what went on behind closed doors with Danny Zuko and those men, so to say that they were asking for it or advertising it by being on craigslist is insensitive, especially because what is being discussed is sexual assault.
ReplyDeleteI post in the childcare section of craigslist as a nanny, does that mean I should expect some creepy man to slide his hands up my whoohaw because male celebrities bone their nannies? I don't think so.
If this were me I would let it be known that the high flyer is a bathroom pervert, but I would feel incredibly guilty accepting any type of payout. Pretty sure that qualifies as prostituion, you just have to wait a while before you can get your drugs.
