I don't think Salma Hayek's husband wanted to look like more of an a-hole than he already was, so he and Linda Evangelista settled their long standing child support war and will present it a magistrate in New York this morning. Linda had been asking for $46K a month which is probably way too much, but she did have huge drop in salary last year so probably thinks that would make up for that loss. I think that from a guy who makes $4M a year and is worth billions could afford the $46K a month.
Earlier I would have said she had no chance to get the $46K a month, but he did give Valentina, his daughter with Salma Hayek a $12M home so that Valentina would always be taken care of in the future. Linda's child is 5 so at $46K a month for the next 13 years is barely half of that total so she might have got it. Plus, Salma makes way more money than Linda. Whatever the sum, I did notice it was interesting that Linda and Francois were whispering together and talking which they did not do last week.
As Linda plots to have a second baby with this dude.
ReplyDeleteI could post something about this but everyone would scream at me. Math and posting history is a little off but, eh, whatever.
ReplyDelete(Are those guys seriously supposed to be "50+ Men"?)
Naa B.. go ahead and post it!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if she went high ball and had a lower number in her mind. Perhaps she is the one who is crazy like a fox?
Go ahead and post it--how would we know if we need to scream at you if you don't? ;-) Let's just hope that they end up on decent terms for the sake of their child, who doesn't need to have his parents each using him as a crowbar to get something out of the other one, eh?
ReplyDeleteThey'll scream at him. Do it anyway, Benny.
ReplyDelete"Plus, Salma makes way more money than Linda." Actually, Salma's hardly been working at all (in films, anyway). Check out her IMDB profile. I doubt that she's averaged over seven-figures for her last couple of years of film work. Though ancient in model-years, Evangelista should be able to top that just with endorsements, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, I have a feeling that first sentence is true. How would Enty know? How?
@BP - Salma has a few different companies, she's making bank. Cosmetics, for one.
ReplyDelete@EmEyeKay--Fair enough, I suppose, but I get the feeling that Enty has seen the actual financial disclosure filings. Which are generally sealed, although in New York maybe not, I wouldn't know.
ReplyDeleteI dont think he is an asshole. Linda bought the suit, making her look like an idiot. I dont get these famous women demanding obscene amts of money because they had a child with someone rich. There are women in worse situatons who cant get any money from deadbeat spouses, yet this kne needs a years salary for one month!! Look at athina onsasis-the best thing that eveR happened to her was her mother dying. She then had a chance to lead relatively normal life with siblings. Money isnt always the right answer.
ReplyDeleteWhy did this go to court in the first place? Was he refusing to pay child support? I never heard anything to the contrary. I understand you wanting the father of your child to support them, but $46k a month seems a bit extreme to me, (even when you can afford it) but what do I know? Also, why does Linda and her child need armed guards with them at all times? Have their lives been threatened? Honestly, the only time I have heard anything about Linda lately is because of this.
ReplyDeleteAs for Salma – she may not have many movies in the works, but every time there’s a commercial on TV, there she is.
This whole situation makes me sick! Specifically Linda's actions. I don't think he's an asshole either. He was paying child support for the kid...she wasn't going it 100% alone. I don't think it's honest for him to "fake" a relationship with a son that he didn't want in the first place, especially if she vowed to take care of the child herself. What really makes me upset with her and this siutaiton is that she is asking for $46K and yet she hasn't proved, receipt wise, why she needs $46K! Based on the articles I've read the expenses for the boy only amount to about $16K...if that! It was in complete bad taste for her lawyers to bring up the fact that Valentina may have had down syndrome, etc. What does THAT have to do with requesting $46K in child support?!? I also don't think he should have to buy the boy a house or provide a trust for him. He is MARRIED to Salma Hayek and they SHARE a daughter. Linda's son is a "bastard child", sorry to say and is certainly NOT entitled to the same treatment. He doesn't claim the child because he didn't want the child...it hurts the boy more to "fake" a caring relationship when it was doomed from the start. She doesn't deserve more than the $16K required to take care of the boy.
ReplyDeleteIf the baby daddy is a big-B billionaire, armed guards are a fair ask. In much of the world the children of people with much less money are constant targets of kidnappers.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'd just like to add that Salma comes from a very wealthy family herself...maybe not billionaires, but def well off. She doesn't need to act/work, etc. She's good either way.
ReplyDeleteRemember? This is the bitch that said in the 90s that she wouldn't get out of bed for less than $10K a day, to MODEL clothes???
ReplyDeleteLooks like she was willing to stay in bed for an even higher price.
Well played Linda! You are a pro. At what, I'd rather not say...
I used to work for a divorce accountant and these big lifestyles cost big money. Even if 46k a month seems outrageous to us to them it really isn't. But the question still remains is Linda trying to augment her income with mommy support vs. actual child support.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say last week that Linda's blouse is fugly...but in the kerfuffle I didn't say it. Yay, here's my chance:
ReplyDeleteThat blouse is fugly as all hell!
Salma has several endorsement deals, particularly big ones with Burger King and Milk (in her attempt to compete with Sofia Vergara).
ReplyDeleteShe might not have movies coming out, but she definitely has income.
Pinault refused to pay a dime toward support of the child. Linda had tried to work it out privately for the last four years but ultimately brought suit when Pinault wouldn't step up. Good for her.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cancan. Good for Linda. If he doesn't want anything to do with his son, then he's going to at least have to pay. I don't know what the laws are in Canada, but here a man has to pay 17% of his monthly income for one child.
ReplyDeleteguys, enty is right. salma is mega-loaded. forget her entertainment industry family lineage...her banks acct is bigger by far. aside from shilling for avon, revlon and cartier (US AND LatAm markets), she also has her own skin care and hair care line. it's distribution is intl. most of her $ tho, comes from Ventanarosa, her production company...they're bad ass, as in oscar nominated & winner films kind of bad ass...and aside from licensing, developing and producing the 'ugly betty' series--remember to take into acct. that it's distribution wasn't just for US markets, and she struck a genius deal to get a huge cut of it.. i won't even go into the crapload of projects she produces for LatAm/IberianPeninsula markets. trust me, she's not hurting for her own $.
ReplyDeleteSalma's income has nothing to do with her husband fathering Linda's baby.
ReplyDeleteSalma and he had broken up and he had a fling with Linda. She became pregnant. Obviously unprotected sex took place but did she tell him she was on some kind of birth control?
He did not want the child but he has a financial responsibility to him. Surely Pinnault was paying her some amount for expenses.
Billionaire men have to know that they make a big payout and have an agreement drawn up to keep the mother quiet and take care of the child.
Good I'm glad it's over. The boy deserves whatever his sister gets....Did you see the photo's of him he's beautiful, I expect we'll be hearing from him in 10-15 years...
ReplyDeleteBack during Linda's modeling heyday, her nickname amongst those who worked with her was "Evil-angelista." She was a really spoiled, snobby bitch.
ReplyDeleteFor laughs, check out the 1996 (I think) Isaac Mizrahi documentary "Unzipped." She is absolutely intolerable in it.
Good for Linda for taking Pinault to court. He had been making NO child support payments up until now. Why he didn't settle before is beyond idiotic. Now people know what a cheap asshole he can be. If you don't want a baby then use a condom.
ReplyDeleteLinda is still gorgeous. I met her very briefly at the beginning of 2003 and she was so beautiful without one bit of make-up. She's darker than she appears in pictures which was a little surprising.
This story makes me want to scrub my skin with bleach. Uber rich guy thinks he can stick his sh*t in any woman he wants (and he's pretty much right). Skanky washed up (yeah, she's still attractive...no career though) model sees this guy knocking her up as an 18-year pass to the ATM. Ugh. They deserve each other.
ReplyDeleteI find it disturbing that:
1) Women all go for this guy. Then again, most people are whores for money. As long as you're getting paid, standards go out the window. The guy's not very attractive. Who cares? The fact that he's a serial philanderer means nothing to these women, because they get the cash.
2) Americans (probably citizens of other countries too) begrudge Evangelista a big child support payment, but don't begrudge this guy's situation at all.
He's a BILLIONAIRE! Imagine that people. Think how you'd feel if you won $1 million. If you had $1 million in your bank account, you'd feel rich. Now multiply that by 100. How's that feel? Now multiply that by 10. Now you're a billionaire. Now multiply that by 4 or 5 (or however many billion this guy has).
Americans don't have a problem with billionaires. They have a problem with their neighbor making $10,000 a year more than them. It's insane. I don't know if it's because the billionaire is beyond comprehension...or if people look up to the billionaire because it's their fantasy for themselves(?) It's very odd though. The richest guy in town is fine. We don't worry about him. It's that overpaid postal worker (or whatever), they're the one who bothers me.
can someone please clarify something for me, the Daily Mail has said that if she won, this would have been a landmark case - monetary wise. But doesn't Brooke Mueller get 50g a month child support????
ReplyDeletesad I am even thinking about this or even care, but if anyone knows, I'd love to know.
i dont see a problem with the child support payments!
ReplyDeleteI don't begrudge Henri and his ilk their wealth, Halle. Why should I? It's not like money comes out of my paycheck to pay Henri his millions. His money comes from people who buy the luxury brands his company produces.
ReplyDeleteHowever, when people who work for the government are getting rich, that's different. Their paychecks DO, in effect, come out of my paycheck through taxes. So yes, I am going to resent a crappy teacher who makes $80k a year who can't be fired because of the union yet fails to educate the kids in her class year after year. I am going to resent the secretary with no university education who makes $90k because she's managed to work for the government for 20 years (and before anyone jumps on me, I work for a state university and we have secretaries here who make that kind of money because of their longevity).
I also don't think people who work for charities should be getting rich. The heads of the Red Cross, Unicef, and the United Way all make over $400k. I think that's ridiculous.
And, as I stated a few days ago, I think both Linda and Henri are douchebags.
Brooke Mueller has twins, so maybe that counts as 25K per child. It is then less than 48K Linda will make
