Lady GaGa has had to cancel her Indonesia concerts because she has been threatened with kidnapping and death threats because she worships the devil. Huh. I had no idea. When I think of devil worshiping music, Bad Romance and Just Dance are not usually the songs that cross my mind. I tend to think of devil worshiping songs as Call Me Maybe or or anything by 98 Degrees. Oh yeah, you think Nick and Drew were just playing bubblegum pop, but you transfer those songs to vinyl and find a record player at some garage sale someplace and put them on and play them backwards while placing one hand on your head and counting backwards from 100 while a candle not to exceed six inches in length burns in the corner and you can hear the devil worshiping. You just have to really listen for it and be drunk.

Lady GaGa Cancels Indonesia Concerts
Lady GaGa has had to cancel her Indonesia concerts because she has been threatened with kidnapping and death threats because she worships the devil. Huh. I had no idea. When I think of devil worshiping music, Bad Romance and Just Dance are not usually the songs that cross my mind. I tend to think of devil worshiping songs as Call Me Maybe or or anything by 98 Degrees. Lady Gaga makes people gay. It's true. Look at John Travolta. You know he heard Bad Romance one too many times.
ReplyDeletewow men dictating what a woman can do and can't do. Shocker.
ReplyDeleteSad she had to cancel, even Madonna stood up to the pope and played her concerts in Italy and didn't get tazed by lighting.
Indonesia has muslim leadership and they don't fuck around, they'll cut a bitch! If I was Lady gaga I'd stay away too.
ReplyDeleteTimebob I do remember that fight Madonna had with the pope!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up Enty!
ReplyDeleteThat's super funny. Yeah if I were her I'd stay away too. Shame for the fans though. :(
ReplyDeleteI believe that she cancelled for the safety of her fans. She could probably protect herself to some extent, but her fans are much more vulnerable. That is not worth the risk at all.
ReplyDelete52,000 tickets were sold, too, so somebody there likes her, just not the vocal and influential fundamentalists who ruin it for everybody. Or at least Lady gaga fans.
ReplyDeleteAssociated Press reports indicated that they were concerned about her "sexy outfits," and I had to say: I've never seen one of those. Does anyone want to tell me I'm wrong, or that they've been aroused by her? She's gruesome and antinomian, shocking and absurd, rebellious, vituperative (is that even a word?), defying barriers and breaking down walls. She's not "sexy." Or am I crazy?
ReplyDeleteYOu're not crazy, Barton. BUt those distinctions are probably way beyond the ability of most fundamentalists to comprehend--whether those fundamentalists are fundamentalist Christians, fundamentalist Muslims, fundamentalist whatevers. They see bare legs and breasts, while you and I see a statement about the ways that women's bodies are perceived and enslaved. Otherewise they wouldn't be fundamentalists---fundamentalist anything is about dividing this grey world into black and white.
ReplyDeleteShe seemed to hint earlier on in the week that she would just get up on stage and do the concert herself, thereby not putting her crew in danger. She probably could have done it too. Just sit at the piano and sing her songs and the crowd would have loved it. But yeah, I can see why she wouldn't want to put her fans in any danger.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but there is something deeply wrong with a country allowing their government to make physical and very public threats against someone. That is very scary shit. Religion of peace my ass.
didnt she bathe in blood in a hotel somewhere?
ReplyDeleteIm sorry, these extremists are just plain nuts. Seeing things thst arent there. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI remember when 'Judas' came out and 'Born this Way' and there was a lot of controversy from religious peeps about the lyrics. Am assuming here it's a combo of her dress (and yes, if you see her in concert she often wears something as skimpy as an adult semi-through onesie) AND her unashamed stance on gay and feminine issues. So yeah- pretty much kryptonite to any fundamentalist groups.
ReplyDeleteAlso, co-sign what Gladys said <3
she should do the concert as a hologram. i'm surprised they're not doing that yet for everyone
ReplyDeleteSome extremist group bought a bunch of tickets so they could enter the show anonymously. If a couple hundred extremists are at her show to harm her or her fans, I don't blame her for canceling.
ReplyDeleteThat is scarey...Obama 2012
ReplyDeletenow I know why I never heard any devil worshipping while playing records backward. My candle is only 5.5 inches. I mean, I was using Barry Manilow albums and everything....
ReplyDeleteI think I will take political advice from someone who actually knows how to spell "Scary"
ReplyDelete@Laylaay-Truer words have never been spoken. Hell, they'd cut a bitch with their own knife and charge them with assault.
ReplyDeleteNo Lori, Gaga never bathed in blood in a hotel room.

ReplyDelete@Lori. I remember reading that story at the time. Interesting that the press chose to emphsize the satanic opinion of one employee, and barely mention the other opinion which was that she was probably doing a dress rehearsal for her show. And if this was the Monster ball tour, yes indeed she has what appears to be blood on her up to the end of the show. I like Gaga and think she is a talented singer and songwriter and I don't think she really needs all those costumes and now might be a good time to start toning it down a bit.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, if that was real blood the staff found, shouldn't they have called the police? It was either hair dye, or stage blood.
I think the blood bath thing was something the Illuminati conspiracy theorists took and ran with so...do with it what you will. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't blame her for cancelling. And I agree she could probably do away w/ the crazy outfits b/c I think she has more than proven herself as an artist, but wth should she HAVE to based on one group of a-holes. So frustrating.
