Katie Couric Royal Family Special
I know it is probably just me, but I'm really pretty excited to see the Katie Couric interviews with Prince Harry and William and Queen Elizabeth when they air next week. It has been years since an American network got to interview either Prince. I'm actually surprised no one had the opportunity last year when William and Kate got married. There has been no word about whether Kate Middleton is going to be on the show yet. You would think if she was going to be on they would be promoting it like crazy for ratings, so she probably won't.
its all just fluffy questions and answers, it will be nice to see the royal grounds and get a peek inside the royal homes but the interviews are always boring.
ReplyDeleteCBS did an interview with Harry earlier this year about his Carribean tour to honor the Queens diamond anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI am SO over Katie Couric. I used to adore her on the Today show, watched her for years. Couldn't stand her on CBS evening news. Now she seems to be clinging to relevancy at ABC. I saw an ad for her online blog, the topic was taking your daughter to the gynocologist for the first time. I didn't mind the colonoscopy after her husband died, but exploiting her daughter for her blog is just trashy.
Also have zero desire to watch purely based on fake Katie Couric and being beyond over her, she's insufferable.
ReplyDeleteDidn't we have a war to get rid of these insufferable people who are important simply because of what family they were born into? Can we, as Americans, please stop with this royal obsession? I don't give a flying flip about any of them. Why are they on the cover of People? On my TV? On my news programs?? Are there that many Americans who *do* care?
ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer interviews the princes once a year.
ReplyDeleteI like katie couric. I never watched today or the news, but she is a really good interviewer. I'll love her forever for her interview w/sarah palin.
ReplyDelete@chopchop - I don't care either. And I include Katie Couric in that statement. My cat could get a more hard-hitting interview than she could. I don't have any beef with the royals, but just once I'd like to see them answer some hard questions about their pasts and stories about infidelities, pro-Nazi ties, wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars etc.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching this I AM sort of excited to see the full interview!
ReplyDeleteWhile the politics around monarchy's dont really jive with my personal liberal sentiments I will admit the little girl in me will ALWAYS be fascinated with real live princess and princes, queens and kings. Also I see so many pics of Wills and Harry and yet never really get a chance to hear their voice- so it's oddly mesmorizing to listen to them interview. Wills seems to have the crisp upper crust accent down to a T, while Harry (swoon) has a huskier cadence and always looks like he's squirming to get the hell away from the interview and go party! (or this could all be in my imagination haha).
Either way- totally watching this~
I like the other monarchy in Europe way more than the Brits. My mom's from Spain and between them, the Greeks and the Swedish monarchs, I get way more entertainment. The others are better looking too.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, Katie has always bugged me. I think she's terrible and not very smart. The Palin interview was hilarious it was so bad. When Katie repeatedly asked her about newspapers I swear she wasn't being intentional, I swear she was just too dumb to go on to the next question.
I like Katie okay and I like the royals, especially Wills, Kate, and Harry. I'll watch it.
ReplyDeleteWhy is the American media so obsessed with British royals?
ReplyDeleteAfter the horrible way Diana was treated by the "royals" I hope to see these kids do good and live happy lives, treat all people decently, that sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteSomebody interviewed Harry last year, right before the wedding, about the North Pole expedition he was promoting. Can't remember which network it was though.
ReplyDeleteI like William and Harry, they are their mother's best legacy. Whatever else she did in her life, she left an indelible imprint on those two boys that turned them into admirable men.
I have nothing to add except to say Wills' body is epic. Double bag that horse face and comb over and I'd be all over it. Too bad he's prolly a dud in the sack like his dad (at least that's what the Tina Brown book I'm currently reading says). If the DoE was 40 years younger I'd grab that too.
ReplyDeleteAgree on the the Katie thing-she is always faking the funk.
