Jeff Goldblum Celebrates 10 Years With Same Stalker
I think it's possible Jeff Goldblum might have the longest running stalker situation in the celebrity world. This week he got his fifth restraining order against Linda Ransom. Linda has been stalking Jeff since 2001 and his last restraining order had expired so Linda was taking advantage of that loophole to drive Jeff crazy with drop ins and hanging out in front of his place and doing everything she could to make sure Jeff noticed her. The woman originally was an acting student of Jeff. Apparently she liked his class and wanted some extra lessons. For much of the past decade she has made a career of stalking Jeff. She has been arrested several times for violating restraining orders but there have been times during the past decade when judges would not extend a restraining order for Jeff because they do not think she posed a threat to him.
Can you blame her? He's still got it.
ReplyDeletethis is what happens when you fuck your students. Don't fuck your acting students mmmkay?
ReplyDeleteHaha I kno right! He's from my hometown and I wish there were more of him here!
ReplyDeleteHe taught acting? Sounds like an bedmate who got upset when he dumped her---not that's an excuse for stalking though.
ReplyDeleteMy hubs is got an ex-student who is turning in to this type.
Actually, I think David Letterman had a stalker who stalked him for nearly 20 years and kept breaking into his house. She finally either committed suicide or accidentally got hit by a train near his house.
Or was pushed in front of the train *dun dun dunnnn* lol
DeleteAwwww, that's sweet. After all these years, she's staying with Jeff. She could have found someone else to fuck then stalk, but no, Jeff's the one.
ReplyDeleteHe's too cute as one of the two dads on Glee. Kudos to Ryan for casting him. You're right, @strawberrygirl, he's still got it. That stalker has some good taste, she does.
There's something about Jeff Goldblum... He's not that good looking (to me), but he's very attractive.
ReplyDeleteIs he a nice guy? Does anyone here know him/of him?

ReplyDeleteI like Jeff Goldblum, but he strikes as a major dick with an aging attitude, hence all these young women. I bet his stalker got a little long in the tooth for him. Maybe she turned 25 and kicked out the door for fresh flesh.
ReplyDeleteI have more sympathy for Letterman than him. Letterman didn't even know his stalker! She just saw him on TV each night.
I love the way he just walked away from Dick Wolf and Law & Order:Criminal Intent.
I agree w/ y'all. He does have that somethin' somethin'.
ReplyDeleteThis needs to be a Your Turn topic. What celebrity would YOU stalk, lol. (Or stalk you, it would be a terrible thing if say, Ewan MacGregor would not leave me alone!)
ReplyDeleteIf he did have a fling w/her & then dumped her, then that's not cool, but stalking is stalking--if you're harassing someone who clearly isn't interested in you, to the point where they've gotten restraining orders, then it doesn't matter if there was a prior relationship or not, because clearly you've crossed the line. It's not a good standard to hold civilian women to, and just because he's a male celebrity doesn't mean that stalking him is OK. If he dumped her, then yes, he's probably a dick (unless she started acting in such a way that would make him or anyone else go "Uhhhh...NOT OK!"), but I think it's safe to say that no means no, and if someone doesn't want you around, at some point you need to get over it and move on with your life. The whole "if I just hang in there long enough, s/he will realize their mistake and come back" trope need to be staked, garlic stuffed in its mouth, and have its head chopped off before burying it deep--if they really wanted to be with you, they would be; if they're not, then they don't.
ReplyDeleteHe was my second celeb crush. I was 12. I had good taste back then too! :)
ReplyDeletesome of you people have no sympathy. having a stalker is no joke. especially for so long. trust me, I had one, and no, he wasn't an ex boyfriend, he was the super of my building.
ReplyDeletethey are sick sick people who have an obvious attachment disorder and who are ultimately predators. whether he slept with her or not, is not the issue. the issue is, she won't leave him alone.
I imagine its harder for a male to be taken seriously as a victim of a female stalker. I hope he can get another restraining order.
That is really messed up, annabella. I'm sorry that you had to go through that.
ReplyDeleteHe is odd looking, but I would definitely go there. Also, famous or student sexy timer or not, I do feel bad for the guy.
Jeff is one of my fav actors going back to "The Big Chill." He does have a rep as a serious poon hound/dirty old man. When I lived in LA I saw him at The Grove quite a lot. He was always approaching pretty girls in their late teens-early twenties. I think his last serious girlfriend was Lydia Hearst, and she's like 22. So, he's a charming skeeze.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I'm 26, so I'm too old for him. A girl can dream though...
ReplyDelete@annabella
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of sympathy for people who are and have been stalked. I've been stalked and my husband presently has a stalker who is totally batshit nuts.
I was trying to point out that people have a hard time being firm with others and to be careful with who you get intimate with. There are A LOT of people who have problems with attachment. Unfortunately, people find out too late about it.
I've also found that men (in my experience) are not too kind or suave about how stalkers are handled. Either they dump women harshly or aren't firm enough with them.
In my husband's case, he felt sorry for his stalker and now everyone is paying for it! You've got to be really firm with these types of people because he or she WILL not get it. They will think ANY attention, even restraining orders, are good.
He's a wonderful acting coach at the best actor's studio in town. She's a total nut job who should have never been admitted into anywhere except a psych ward.
ReplyDeleteI do remember a funny episode of the Chris Isaak show on Showtime. He started stalking his stalker becuase she stopped stalking him he thought something had happend to her. But she had moved on to another celebrity and he got jealous.
ReplyDelete@timebob
ReplyDeleteI bet that stuff happens in real life!
@DianaofThemyscira
ReplyDeleteDid she audition for the school? Did anyone have a conversation with her? I can spot a nut after a brief exchange.
You audit the first class and then get interviewed by one of the heads of the school, now.
ReplyDelete@DianaofThemyscira
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm surprised they would be so lenient with famous people teaching acting classes. At the Academy of Dramatic Art LA and NYC, you have to audition and it's tough.
Goldblum was funny but inept on his Top Gear appearance.
ReplyDeleteThen you probably know that there are different level classes that are based on talent and experience. The mid to high level classes are taught and attended by generally established actors in the business. The intro and lower level classes are usually taught by the heads of the school. The school isn't meant to be haughty or exclusive just b/c of who may teach or attend there and if you're not cut out for it you'll know b/c you're not advancing at the same rate as everyone else. However, if you still feel you want to spend the money and time then you can stay unless you're seriously holding the class back by being unprepared or a nuisance. Either way it's a learning experience for everyone involved and everyone acts in every single class every single week. There's no sitting back and watching. Most people are incredibly talented and truly dedicated so that's never been an issue. You shouldn't need to audition for an intro level class and if your level of talent and expertise is too advanced for intro then they send you up one or two easily and quickly. The school was and is attended and taught by some of the best actors in the business so I don't think their open door policy is that big a deal. Everyone is an equal once they enter the classroom.
ReplyDeleteNo, not good taste. I believe he dated Rielle Hunter before she weaseled into John Edwards life. Anyone who would date that wacko is also a nut job.
ReplyDeleteI still love Jeff. I know he's bat shit crazy but there's just that something about him, lol.
ReplyDeleteHope he gets rid of her--glad she's not been dangerous so far.
He's gross! He dated a girl i knew. She was only 19 and im talking 2009. It lasted for a year, whenever he was in london. The way he treated her... All i can say is he saved cash on hookers.

ReplyDeleteIf this was Jeff Goldblum cerca The Fly, I'd probably be stalking him too lololol.
ReplyDeleteMust have been some good lovin'
ReplyDelete@DianaofThemyscira
ReplyDeleteThat's like the ACT in San Francisco. Annette Benning taught there for a couple of years, but it was before she became too famous. Most of the teachers were and are professional actors, but not ones anyone would really know eg Goldblum.
Annette also graduated from ACT.
DeleteIt is a shame that some people don't take it as seriously because she is a "harmless" woman and he's a man. You never know when someone will snap and get violent.
ReplyDeleteThe hands-down winner for scariest stalker of all time is Ryan Seacrest. That guy was terrifying!
Seacrest stalked someone? In a terrifying fashion?
ReplyDeleteDo tell.
I agree about female stalkers being just as (if not more) scary than males. Females tend to be more persistent (my bf's ex is currently stalking him. We actually had to relocate him (my place, she has no idea where I live) and change his number so she could no longer 'just happen' to show up at his door. That's more for my protection, because the last time almost ended in a throw down)
She still knows where he works and goes there often. It's just that now everyone else knows to turn her away and say he's not available.
I think he needs to get a restraining order, but he won't. Because he's "A guy. That's not what guys do"
Beg to differ.
Hopefully she is just a harmless, yet very dedicated nut. A decade is a long time to stalk someone.
ReplyDeleteLike Mooshki said, you never know when someone may snap.
What I want to know is where these stalkers get all this money to follow these people around. It takes bucks to go from LA to NYC to stalk someone. Even on a coach flight! All these celeb stalkers seem to be wealthy. Even my hubs stalker seemed to not have a job and was able to follow him around.
ReplyDeletedamn. 10 years? just the length of time gives me chills. doesn't it seem like this is harassment, and if nothing else, that should put her in jail. what a freak.
