Everyone Hates Teri Hatcher
Now that Desperate Housewives has ended its run and the co-stars don't have to go to work every morning together, they are making it pretty clear that working with Teri Hatcher the past few years has been one of the worst things to ever happen to them. Throughout the run of the show there have always been those rumors you hear about how no one wanted to stand next to Teri or if someone was having a party at their house, they would only come if Teri was not invited. There was the time that there was a private wrap party for a season and no one ever bothered to tell Teri about it and she never bothered to ask. Oh, one season for about six weeks, Teri didn't speak to anyone. So, now that the show is over, many of those whispered things are now being spoken about more loudly. Things like Teri Hatcher is the meanest person many of the cast have ever met. The biggest thing that everyone has been talking about this week is that Teri was left off the card for the gift to the crew from all the actresses. Reason? Teri doesn't care about anyone but Teri. I think you will start to see this. You want to hear a million Teri Hatcher stories? Go get Dean Cain drunk.
oooooooh delish!
ReplyDeleteI wonder just how much info will come flying outta the bag?
no surprise here. a bunch of woman together and they think everyone was going to get along. Yeah right...
ReplyDeleteInteresting to hear that she's the worst, but I'm sure that none of the leading women are a picnic to be around. Except maybe Felicity... I'd like to think she's a kind person.
ReplyDeleteSweet, it aint just women!! I worked with a bunch of men and they were the same way!! I think its human nature!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, it's not hard to believe that she can be difficult and unpleasant. The Hollywood Reporter has speculation that she may have had problems with the others because she came onto the show with more Mojo than they did, and I imagine she probably didn't want to be "one of the girls." On the other hand, how big of a star was she when the show started? She used to say she was grateful that they took on a washed-up has-been, so who knows. I do think there were problems between her and everyone else, though. That makes total sense.

Not gonna lie...this one surprises me!
ReplyDeleteTeri Hatcher wasn't nice??? I'm shocked! Shocked, I say!
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised, remember the big VF cover controversy.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise there! She's all kinds of crazy. She even tried to do a faux romance with Gaycrest. Was she even invited to Eva's 7-7-7 wedding in Paris?
ReplyDeleteI also hate Susan Delfino.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds very mean girlish. I find it hard to believe she was the only one with an attitude. And let's face it, when the show started, she was the most recognizable one (well, except Bree, who was on Melrose Place).
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing rumours that is why they killed off Lois Lane/gave her amnesia/whatever that weird plot was during the end of Lois & Clark.
ReplyDeleteIt was because Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain could not stand to work with eachother, so they tried to keep the two actors as separate as possible.
@surfer I second that.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she's not as bad as the one that got fired and sued.
Kind of ironic because she was becoming "Teri who?" when the show started.
ReplyDeleteenty, how about if you get dean cain drunk and then you spill on the site, ok?
ReplyDeleteI theorized that Terri went all Fatal Attraction on Dean Cain.
ReplyDeleteEw, Dean Cain.
If I can get Dean Cain drunk, getting him to talk about Teri is not what I want to do with him!
ReplyDeleteI dunno gang, I think there is a whole lot of truth to this. It seems the other 3 are pretty tight.
ReplyDeleteNone of hem are actually friends. Friendly, yes. But run in the same circle friends, absolutely not. None of the women will be spending time together, nor did any of them want to do press together regarding the finale. Don't read too much into this one.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm a big Scott Bakula fan, and I was reading recently about his appearance on DH recently and he mentioned that back in the day, when she was just a baby, Marcia Cross did an episode of "Quantum Leap," and it was great to work with her again, yadda yadda. I found this interesting, because Teri Hatcher ALSO guested on "QL" in a FAR more pivotal role. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteTV Guide has a good (honest?) article that Teri doesn't talk to or hang with the other ladies over something that occurred a couple of years back. Teri is missing from nearly every picture. There's also a rather cryptic quote from Teri (paraphrasing here) "I will never tell what really went on, but I do wish the other women well."
ReplyDelete@AKM - very interesting, but I probably wouldn't read too much into it, since as far as I've seen, he hasn't actually had any scenes with Teri. He plays Bree's lawyer, so all of his scenes are naturally with Marcia Cross.
ReplyDeleteTotally believable. One of my close friends was a working actor in LA for many years, and she said by far the least pleasant woman she ever encountered was Teri Hatcher. Biggest asshat? Sean Penn. Another shocker there.
ReplyDeleteSean Penn is actually a very nice person, but has very little tolerance for asshatery, as do many, many people in this business.
ReplyDeleteI knew someone that worked as an assistant for Marcia Cross and she had nothing but great things to say about her as a person and boss. After Melrose, she went and got a Master's degree drove a Subaru. She liked Eva a lot too and said she was a total fashion disaster, but a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteBut they're real... and they're spectacular!
ReplyDelete@Sean that made me laugh out loud ;)
ReplyDeleteEva a fashion disaster? I normally love her outfits. Perhaps she has a stylist? Where does Dean Cain hang out? Consider me one who wouldn't mind having a few drinks with him - but as others have shared, I don't want to talk about Terri, or the crocs that he has been pictured in wayyy too many times...
ReplyDeleteSuperman wears crocs!!! BWHAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteYou shouldnt talk about Teri Hatcher that way! Don't you know who she is...
ReplyDeleteVicki Cupper said...
ReplyDeletePatty, now she'll be "oh yeah, that bitch".
LMFAO!!! Thanks for the laugh, Vicki!
Any middle-aged woman who's thinner than their thin teenage daughter obviously has all kinds of issues. I seem to remember a very, very, very awkward appearance she had on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson a couple of years ago. She seemed very flustered that he didn't stick to the pre-interview script that most talkshows adhere to and was almost completely unable to just have a simple conversation with Craig. I don't think she was ever back on the show.
ReplyDeleteRJ, I was in the audience of the The View when Teri was a guest years ago. Either Star Jones or Meredith left their index cards near my seat so I took them after the show. Practically EVERY word spoken to or by Teri was on that card. Weird.
ReplyDeleteI think this is more a question of Hatcher being the worst of a very bad bunch. A friend of mine worked the DH crew for a few years and said NONE of the actresses would talk to or look at each other during filming. Hate hate hate. This is why all their promo ads had to be Photoshopped from different photo shoots - none of the actresses wanted to stand next to each other, much less endure a long photo shoot together.
ReplyDeleteMy friend said that in all his years in film and TV, DH was definitely the worst show on which he ever worked. The atmosphere was toxic at all times.
@Cathy - Your point is definitely valid. I still find it odd that he still didn't through out at least a generic, "And Teri Hatcher! She played my wife on "QL." Nice to see her again, too." ???
ReplyDeleteStrong isn't on the card either. And really, a carry-on bag?? Gee, thanks.
ReplyDeleteSomething happened a few years ago, and although there have been tidbits and rumors, the full story has never come out. I seem to recall something about Cherry BFF's Longoria & Cross and killing off Susan. Could be something completely different.
I read that TV Guide article too. I'm not her biggest fan, but Hatcher seems to be the only one conducting herself with grace and dignity.
Why oh why am I not surprised that Eva's name is first on this gift that Teri got left off of?
ReplyDeleteI'd say the Mean Girl behavior has been going on for some time. I remember that only Felicity Huffman and James Denton came to Teri's book party in 2006 ... I'd say that Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross have long been pissed off that they didn't get first billing on the show. After all, if it was alphabetical, Marcia would have been listed first in the credits ... and Eva seems to forget that her big star power prior to DH was on ... The Young and the Restless. Enough said.
Then again, Dean Cain treated the whole crew to lattes, etc., at the end of Season 3 on L&C and no one ever heard about Teri doing anything ... so you just never know. But getting him drunk would be interesting considering once upon a time, a certain blind item believed to be him mentioned getting in the face of someone who made a comment about his former co-star and pointing out how good in bed she is. Food for thought?
I have always heard really good things about Marcia from fans, strangers and celebs. I tend to believe that Teri *is* the problem, although I did like her on L&C and Seinfeld.
ReplyDeleteSo this time Teri's the problem. Huh. You know, I've heard "[DH actress] is the meanest on the show and a huge troublemaker!" rumors about this cast for years, always with the blame on somebody different. Personally, I believe Sandy's friend- I think the entire set of this show was toxic and everybody on it was bitchy in some way.

ReplyDeleteI read the article from Vanity Fair re: bathing suit cover, the total bitch was Cross - Hatcher was the "nice one" I think DH was a viper's den..a group of actresses all counting their lines and fighting for placements on covers. I thought Hatcher's golden globe speech was sweet and funny
ReplyDeleteI knew Eva when she was on Y&R - then ran into her a few weeks ago, I looked at her and she smiled, stopped and said "I know you..Y&R Right?" we caught up..she was nothing but pleasent, always was.
ReplyDeleteabout Teri - she and Nicolette were the best of friends, when the whole thing went down about the firing and the hitting, Teri felt betrayed that the other three sided with Cherry and left her out to dry.

@AKM - I thought she played his first love, not his wife. I am also a Scott Bakula fan and QL nerd.
ReplyDeleteI am more than willing to take a crack at that whole "Get Dean Cain drunk" thing. Not sure I will get any stories about Teri but I am going to do my best. So, anyone have his number? *cracks open a bottle of Alchemist.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Teri & Eva must have butted heads the most. The other 2 don't seem like they would invest their energy into the silliness.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would rather get Jon Tenney drunk before Dean Cain. Jon actually was married to Teri. (Jon plays "Fritz" on "The Closer".)
ReplyDeleteThings started to change after Teri Hatcher won an award for her role on DH. That was when she wore a gorgeous greyish/silver gown. Shortly after that the cat fights started--including the VF cover where everyone of the others were pissed that Hatcher was given a red bathing suit to wear--which would make her stand out more than the others. Maybe she is a bitch--but something tells me she wasn't the only one on that show that was.
ReplyDeleteAnd can someone tell me how to get a different screen name other than Unknown?
And yet they stood by her more than Nicolette Sheridan. Imagine how bad she must be?
ReplyDeleteI wondered why Terri wasn't in any of the last day of shooting pics Enty put up recently.
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing this cast had issues from the get go. But I don't understand why anyone would have gotten top billing over another except for maybe Nicolette?
ReplyDeleteRemember when Teri dated Ryan Seacrest??
I'd have to hear more of the story, but it all seems so incredibly catty and toxic. I cannot imagine having to work in that environment + Marc Cherry's abusive ass.
That being said, I'm still watching til the end.
I had such the crush on Dean Cain in the 90's. Sigh.
I have to pipe up and say that Nicolette Sheridan is one of the nicest celebrities I've ever met. Really a kind person, loves animals and doesn't act like she's better than anyone. I think it's shocking that ANY women would take the side of a man who hit a woman...yeah, I know, everybody wants to keep their job, but that's still gross.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she hasn't eaten in years - I'd be a bitch too!
ReplyDelete@Popcorn Sutton - Teri Hatcher was the first actress to play Donna Eleese in "Star-Crossed" in the first season of "QL." Sam is able to fix her daddy issues, so she does not leave him at the alter, like she did in the original timeline, and they are married. Remember "The Leap Back," in Season Four, when Sam goes home? Different actress, but he's definitely still married to Donna.
ReplyDelete...and I can't spell. "Altar," not "alter," and "throw," not through. Jeez. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNot surprised. I remember being pretty disgusted when she gave and interview and basically emasculated her ex-husband (Jon Tenney who played Agent Fritz Howard on The Closer) by telling the world she never had sex with him except like two occasions...even though by all accounts he’s a really nice person and never said or done anything awful to or about her - and they share a daughter.
