Courtney Love To Chant With Lindsay Lohan

Back in the day when Courtney Love was fairly sober and trying to straighten her life around she used to chant. I believe she followed Nichiren Daishonin which is what Eric Erlandson follows so that would make sense. He learned from her when they were sleeping together and then he passed it on to Drew Barrymore when they were sleeping together. Anyway, you sit around and chanyt really fast for a few hours and then you supposedly feel better. Courtney who was interviewed by Access Hollywood. Wait, I need to stop right there. Why on earth would Access Hollywood interview Courtney Love? Seriously? You have nothing better to do? No other person or celebrity? Anyway, on the show, Courtney says that today supposedly seven women are coming to her place, including Lindsay Lohan and they are going to chant. I don't see Lindsay chanting. I don't even see her hanging out with Courtney. This is like the time Courtney told everyone that she is Lindsay's sober coach. How can you be a sober coach if you are whacked out of your mind on drugs everyday?

  1. Tina Turner is a long time follower of Nichiren Daishonin and the chant is Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. Just in case anybody is interested :)

  5. In fairness, Courtney was there with Linda Perry to promote a charity concert, but Courtney made the interview rather Courtney-centric, much to Perry's chagrin.

  10. Her celebrity skin is looking a bit ragged these days. That's the downside of always wanting to be the girl with the most cake.

  11. 'chanting fast for a couple of hours' sounds like too much work of Lohan.
She doesn't like to work at anything. Steal, lie, cheat and maim, sure. Work? not so much...

  12. I'd believe Courtney and Lindsay hang out simply because I regularly receive emails meant for Courtney Love from Samantha Ronson's mom.

  13. Huh, cojovo?

I hope this is true. Even if it's cultish, both Courtney and LiLo need something to ground them a bit.

  14. She must have given my email out as hers accidentally to Ann Dexter Jones, because she emails my address every couple of weeks with something. I've responded and told her it's the wrong address, and I've tweeted at both Courtney and Samantha Ronson to try and keep it from happening but still I get emails with other people cc'd that I don't want access to.

  15. There is no obligatory $$ donation w/ the Soka Gakai (SGI) - you might be thinking of the Nichiren Shoshu, a different sect of Nichiren Buddhism. Every religious organization requires donations to keep the roof over the heads of the members, but I can tell you first hand all SGI donations are completely voluntary. Check out SGI.org.
The purpose of chanting is to elevate your life condition, which increases your happiness, and as you become happy, you put that out into the universe and the universe benefits. The main difference btwn SGI and other Buddhist sects is that there are no monks or priests, every individual's life is equal, and you aren't living a more spiritual life if you shave your head and live in a cave. You can obtain pure happiness in the life you're living today.
But hey, we're all on our own journey here - and I think Lindsey would really benefit from putting her energy into Buddhism rather than pretty much anything else that seems important to her right now.

  16. As someone who was raised as a "Fortune Baby" (kids who are born to practicing SGI parents, and who have been brought up with it from birth --most people are daimoku'd or converted) I will say that ND Buddhism is all about free love and equality. It was awesome growing up in my african american home, coming downstairs to meetings where straight people had pink hair, gay people looked like frasier, hermaphrodites, old, young, spanish, asian, everyone just uniting together to bring about happyness....

It does have a cult-ish type feel sometimes, but its harmless, its just overt-niceness i guess...

  20. Those ceaseless chants are pretty cool. Apparently, it gets so that you can pray/chant without doing it yourself. The prayers/chants become timed with your heartbeat, thus your heart continually prays/chants.

    Neat.

  22. maybe Courtney on downers counteracts Linds on uppers?
But that takes out alcohol. idk.

I just want Courtney to get better. I'm happy shes not America's FAVORITE mess anymore (Thank you Lindsay), but I think that stereotype kind of helped her along at some points, give her the motivation to fix herself. Or at least her handlers to like, give a shit.

She'll always be my favorite. I have such an affinity for fucked up messes. And people wonder why my life is a fucking lifetime movie.
