Christian Bale Had A Date With Drew Barrymore

Here is a pairing you would never think possible. Maybe that is why Christian Bale and Drew Barrymore only had one date. Perhaps for the first time ever, Christian revealed something about his personal life. In an interview with GQ Australia, the actor said that back when he was a teen he actually had a date with Drew and took her to a horror film. He called it bloody awful. He said that after the date, Drew never bothered to call him again. Well, he certainly is no Tom Green.

  1. Drew never bothered to call him?

What, his phone doesn't make outgoing calls?

  2. Maybe she said she'd call him. Meh, he was a teenager; we all fuck up.

  3. Del Riser you took the words out of my mouth...so even as a teen he was an arrogant prick ?

  6. Great photo, Enty!!! I also like the one of him in the tanning booth, you know, for future Bale stories. :-)

  7. I wonder why he thought it was awful? She seems like she'd be fun with anyone.

...tho I can never forget the interview with Tom Green in which she said SHE picks HIS nose. Ugh.

  8. is he saying the movie was awful or the date with drew in general? and yeah, was his dialing finger broken?

  9. Maybe it was during the days when she was drinking so maybe it was awful because she was drunk? Trying to give batman the benefit of the doubt here....

  10. Maybe she thought he was awful? His abs can only make you overlook his personality for so long.

  11. He yet talked several years ago about a date with Drew Barrymore when he was 13(because of Spielberg's connection) and i think Drew Barrymore had talked also

i just remind Drew Barrymore did her first rehab at 13

They were two teenagers who didn't have much in common. Simple as that.

Drew is outgoing and may have still been dealing with her addictions. Christian is intense and was uncomfortable with himself and how his career was going. It's no big deal. They just didn't get along.

What's the point of blaming either of them, since none of us were there?

  14. I took as he meant the movie was awful. Not her.

  15. Thanks @French Girl. I didn't read the article.

  16. Yesterday my 2 year old lifted up his shirt with one hand and stared at his chest in a mirror. It creeped me out, I immediately thought of Patrick Bateman.

    1. Lol. My 2 year old had been doing that as well. No mirror, but he says boobies. Yes, I taught him that word.

I've learned that a female will never fail to let you know in no uncertain terms if she is REALLY interested.

So what? He's still butthurt over Drew? Yes, I like her public persona, but he may have actually been done a favor by her not having called.

  18. maybe she couldn't understand his accent?

  19. He probably cussed her out for 10 minutes and she was outta there.

  20. Maybe he called her and she never bothered to call him back. Either way...if the date was so awful, why would he want to hear from her ever again? He's just trying to flip the blame onto her anyway. I hope she doesn't even dignify this with a rebuttle...though it would make for some good gossip.

  21. The DATE wasn't bloody awful, the FILM was bloody awful.

@seaward, it's weird that that's where your mind went :/ I'm cordially inviting you along on the EmEyeKay/anita_mark roadtrip. @anita_mark hasn't actually accepted yet, but I'm inviting you anyway. The two-year-old needs to stay home, tho.

  22. Lol EmEyeKay, it was the look on his face! He was just so serious and seemed to be concentrating so hard.
    Also, I'm in.

  25. A better question is, who didn't date Drew? It's not like she didn't get around. I would think the same if he said Wanna Ride Her.

    I like intense guys :)

With that sexist view of your own gender, Henriette, the intense guys will screw you over every time because you don;t know how to value yourself in particular or women in general.

How is what I stated "sexist"?

Also, the word "intense" is generally misused. It means to do something with passion and feeling. Look it up some day.

Actually, I'm happily married to an "intense" man who lives his life with passion and purpose.

I actually "value" people by what they do and NOT their gender.

Thank you for caring though :)
