Cheryl Cole Says Chris Brown Has Suffered Enough

I guess Cheryl Cole has never been beaten by a man within a few inches of her life. On the radio this weekend she was giving an interview and the former UK X factor judge and number one selling singer who had her husband cheat on her every day and somehow found Derek Hough attractive said that everyone should just move on from all of this and that it has been long enough. Of course Chris Brown jumped right on that and asked Cheryl out and said they should work together and that he was a big fan and that he could come over right now.

Apparently Cheryl wants to forgive him because she thinks he is talented so people deserve breaks when they are talented. She also has some charity that helps people that have been in prison and says that all people can get better and change. Yeah, then why didn't she take her cheating husband back?

  2. I don't disagree that some people can be rehabilitated/reformed. However, has anyone seen any evidence that Chris Brown showed remorse for his actions or changed his ways?

  5. Your basic personality doesn't change through out your life.

  6. Personality doesn't change, but behavior can.

Chris Brown may always be a dick, but he can learn to control his behavior and find other outlets for his aggression and assholeness.

  7. I'll third what Beth said.

  8. Thanks, Enty, for using an awful photo of her.

Last night I insisted my BF turn the TV off during CB's performance, and I went on a rant about what an ass he is. I will never understand why the music community is so eager to embrace him. He hurt one of their own!

  9. A) she wasn't beaten with an inch of her life. Yes, she was beaten, and it was bad, but do not belittle, those victims that have been beaten so fiercely that they cling to life.

    B) yes, he can be rehabilitated

    C) not to justify his actions, because they were beyond wrong, but when are you going to report on the real turmoil and abuse in the relationship that lead up to that night, and the Rhianna has never been the pretty, pretty princess people made her out to be?

  10. I don't like Cheryl and I don't these comments, however her brother has spent his life in and out of prison so maybe that's where her thoughts come from

  11. Has she never seen one of Chris Brown's rage filled twitter rants? The kid will never change.

  12. I do think we should respect Cheryl's opinion. After all, she has nearly as much experience with beating up black women as Chris does.

  15. Well of course she would say that -as much as she'd like to sweep it under the carpet, she was charged with assault back in 2003 for punching a black female toilet attendant. Cheryl Cole (nee Tweedy)is a thug and the real crime is that she got away with it; paying prosecution costs of £3,000 and having to complete 120 hours of community service - how's that justice? Her victim only got £500. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/3207822.stm

  16. Roxxx:

OK, not going to start a big row about criminal justice here, and this'll be my last post on the subject, cos Cheryl Beard ain't worth my time, or anyone's. But if 120 hours community service & a fine isn't enough for punching someone in a nightclub, what would you consider a sufficient punishment? Five years in jail? Having her fist cut off? Just curious.

I feel sorry for Rihanna for getting her ass kicked. I never liked her, so when I found out that CB beat her, I didn't think anything of it. And after she forgave him and even went so far as to have sex with him again, I stopped not liking Chris Brown. Is it his fault that she keeps coming back to him?

Yes yes, he's a woman beater, but I like his voice and that's what I focus on. Rihanna can kiss my ass. She could have become such a role model for women after this, but no, she became a little whore. So she gets no sympathy from me.

Hate me for my opinion but that's what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's definitely time to let it go. He's paid his debt to society. He earned Rihanna's forgiveness. He may still be a douche, but I think he'll think real hard before physically hurting a woman ever again. People need to just drop it and let it die.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @kelgela- she's no role model. In their entire relationship there was A LOT of physical abuse, but only one time it came from CB. I don't care if your a man or a woman, when you get beaten down figuratively and literally for years (when you include parental abuse) you will snap at some point. Yet, not once did he ever mention it. He's a huge douche, one of the biggest I've come across in many, many years, and lord only knows this business is full of them; but, not everything you see and read is the full truth.

I thought that with the recent more and more public unraveling of her thanks to booze and drugs while on her promo tour everything: her addiction, alcoholism, abusive demeanor (which is why she can't keep a relationship) would have just all blown up inher face......guess not. Hell, even Jay isn't saving her anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  22. After what he did to that nice Katy Perry I'll never buy one of his phonograph records again!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh and fuck that role model business. That shit isn't all it's cracked up to be and Rihanna knows it. She looks like she's loving life right now, and I hope she's truly as happy as she looks.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What's the first thing you think of when you hear the name Ike Turner? His musical collaboration with Tina, Proud Mary, or the fact that he beat her? Yeah, I immediately think "wife beater" too. There's no overcoming that - no matter how many people claim people should let it go and move on.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Should we forgive OJ too while we're at it? Afterall, it's been far longer than it has been with Chris Brown.

I honestly think Chris Brown who is NOT sorry for what he did, should ever be forgiven. He'd do it again if he thought he could get away with it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Cheryl, having beaten up that black lady in the night club, you have no right to lecture us on how to treat violent offenders.....being one yourself. And also, you share in common the fact that you showed no remorse when you were found guilty in court. Is your conviction anything to do with the fact that you were pulled quickly from American Idol? I can’t see how the USA granted a work visa to someone with a history of proven violence.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ike Turner and OJ.....you cannot remotely compare CB to them.

And again, he hit a woman ONCE and he owned up to it. Not a repeat offender. When RiRi finally bottoms out, it'll all become public knowledge. I don't think it'll be much longer. He support system has slowly been distancing themselves for he past 18 months. She needs some serious help for her addiction and need o be physically violent.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Abuse is a pattern, and unless someone takes serious steps to change that behavior it never changes. CB seems like a very angry person, without remorse for what he did. Abuse is a reaction, people don't usually think long and hard before they attack.

    ReplyDelete
  29. whocares, do you honestly believe he only has beat one woman, one time? That was a pretty serious attack for his first time.

  31. Not believe, know. Years in the entertainment industry yield inside knowledge of too many people's lives, even of you don't want to know.

The focus should be on what Chris Brown has and has not done (again, total douche, he might be their king), but what she has done and how many people have had to work so hard to protect her image. A lot of those people, including Jay, aren't really there anymore.

  33. Having been in an abusive relationship I can tell you this; its never just once, they always hit again. They'll promise and swear that it'll never happen again. It does. CB is an awful person, he clearly has mental health issues and needs help. As does the british chick who dated the gay? Dancing guy and Rihanna. I'm appalled at these abusers and Rihanna! How could she continue to be around him? I shudder at the thought of even seeing my ex again.

    ReplyDelete
  34. You guys are being unfair, for one thats not all that Cheryl said "She added: 'I work with people all the time with my charity that are transformed characters.
'They've done things when they were young that they regret, they've been to prison and they're now upstanding members of the public and help our community and are amazing people.'

Yes he was wrong and yes he is an asshole but for crying outloud move one I dont see Charlie Sheen who has done worse and been arrested several times getting all this hate.
In regards 2 Cheryl arrest she was 19 and drunk, It was one punch not a beat down, it was 2 woman in a fight, several have done worse, has she done anything like that since then? and why judge her on what her brother has done, he is a drug addict. I see any on judging Reese weatherspoon based on what her brother has done

    ReplyDelete
  35. ......and her opinion matters, why?

STFU Cheryl. No one in the US even knows who the fuck you are.

    ReplyDelete
  36. crazy/beautiful, you think Rhianna looks like she is LOVING LIFE?

To me she looks FUCKED UP, DRUGGED OUT and miserable.....that girl is losing her mind. And I will not move on for Chris Brown, because he has never ever shown me that he regrets what he did, or changed his obnoxious behavior.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous9:54 AM

    A) Who is this person and B) FUCK OFF!

    ReplyDelete
  38. If RiRi was being abusive to CB, then that's definitely wrong and she needs to learn how to control herself; however, we've never seen him in the same kind of condition that he left her in, so either she was really good at hitting him where he could hide it, or he gave a hell of a lot worse than he got; either way, it's Not A Good Thing. And yes, I'm quite aware that, in plenty of abusive relationships, the abuse comes from both partners; some people have never learned how to have a non-violent relationship, and some people just love the drama, I don't know why...I wouldn't be at all surprised if those two, and her in particular, feel that way.

Abuse is wrong, no matter who's doing it, and the fact of the matter is that he doesn't look particularly sorry at all that he beat her up, only sorry that he got caught...so no, he doesn't seem remorseful to me, and no, I don't have to like him or support his career. If she did anything, we don't know about it; all we know about his what he did, and yes, if it can be shown that she behaved that badly, then she deserved to be scorned as well.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The damage is done. It's not just that Chris Brown brutalized and battered a woman, for whatever reason - that's enough of a mark against him. It's that he's shown time and time again that he is a douche. A childish punk. A rich, self-entitled, arrogant thug.

I don't care how talented he or Roman Polanski are. I'll never support them. That's my choice, and if others want to support people of this ilk, that's their choice. It makes me livid when someone tell me to "get over it", especially where violence against women is concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @MadLyb, I choose to go along with you!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well if Chris would just make a movie about a gay icon and work to save Haiti, then surely people would finally overlook his violent past.

I agree, his arrogance and lack of remorse make him distasteful, but the way the industry has sucked up to him and given him prime performance spots on awards shows is equally distasteful. The worst thing about this whole sorry affair is the way his female fans will abuse any woman who dares to speak out against him. Take a look at Chrissy Teigen's twitter from last night to this morning. It's almost unbelievable.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Okay, I'm not a fan of his but I have to agree *ducking now*. We put the rest of the rapists, abusers and pedophiles in never revealed blind items but continue to rag on him. What about Michael Fassbender? Does he get the Cb treatment? No. It's getting old. They're not together anymore. Move on. It's like Brad and Jen, fighting style. So what he's an arrogant prick. A lot of them are. I'm sick of hearing about it and him being blamed for ALL THE PROBLEMS in her life. I've been there, have the broken arm to prove it, but I'm past it, and he wasn't even arrested. Give him the CB treatment. If the abused is past it, everyone else should follow suit.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Psychopathy, and ASPD, is brain damage - genetic brain damage. Those people will never be right. EVER! They cannot be rehabilitated. They cannot be cured. It is permanent brain damage.

Again, there needs to be more education about this. Society does not need to waste money and resources trying to help these people.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Mind you, I still won't by an album, never have never will, just don't like his music, but still. . . How many people here would still gladly sleep with Michael Fassbender? And his abuse wasn't even a blind.

    ReplyDelete
  45. My parents had loud, awful fights when I was a kid. I once asked my mother why she just didn't leave. She said she would the first time he hit her or any of us kids. That was her line in the sand, the one thing that could never be forgiven or forgotten. My mother was a wise woman.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @MadLyb - with you all the way.

@ParkerNosey - what kind of abuse has been documented when it comes to Fassbinder, though? Nobody has seen pictures of that, nor read police reports. I think that makes a big difference when it comes to the way people are treating these two.

Please, correct me if I am wrong, but there hasn't been *proof*, as far as I know, about Fassbender's supposed abuse.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I've only once been the object of physical abuse, though I've seen it close up quite often. (And I must say, the guy who hit me regretted it intensely. He'd very much misjudged me and my ability to deal with much larger, aggressive males.) I have observed that someone who hits once will hit again. So I doubt that this was the first time Chris Brown hit Rhianna, just the first time she went public.

Also, no, I don't think Rhianna was innocent in all this. There are too many reports of bad behaviour. And her current public behaviour isn't very good either. I don't care for either her or Chris Brown. I suppose I despise him more because no matter what she did, he was the one who struck her the hardest and the most.

I raised three boys and did my best to teach them never to lash out in anger.

Oh, and no, even if I had the opportunity, I wouldn't sleep with Michael Fassbender. He's cute, but I have made it a point my whole adult life never to spend time with a man who would abuse me.

    ReplyDelete
  48. But where's the proof that he's hit more than once? Early in my relationship with my husband, I slapped the taste out of his mouth for comparing me to my mother. Does that make me an abuser? Will I do it again? No and no. Did it stop me from ripping him a new one for about a week? No. Why is it different for someone else. Why do we pick out some and not others? If you don't like someone, okay, but don't make someone a poster child for something others are doing as well, and often times worse. Hollywood covers what they want to. Blind items are open secrets in Hollywood. We just don't know who they are but best believe, Enty's not the only one who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @Parker finally some with a voice of reason, Yeah CB is an asshole but he is being treated unfairly, Im not a fan of his but while chastising him do the same for Charlie Sheen, Terrence Howard and several others who have abused their wives several times , Food for thought I notice that once the one who is abused isnt famous the hate on the abuser is as bad...

    ReplyDelete
  50. whocaresnow12, are you with CB 24 hours a day that you "know" he's never hit a woman other than that once? And what about the chair throwing, and the fact that his neighbors called him the "neighbor from hell?" He has a pattern of violent, aggressive behavior, no matter what you choose to believe.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Not to mention that I have never seen any sincere remorse from him for what happened.

    ReplyDelete
  52. First, let's remember what Rihanna's face looked like after Chris Brown threw her out of the car.

And if that's not enough, here are the police notes:
"Brown then allegedly shoved Rihanna’s head against the passenger window. When Rihanna turned to face him, Brown punched her, then continued punching her while driving, according to the detective’s notes.
Blood spattered all over Rihanna’s clothing and in the interior of the car. Her mouth was filled with blood.
Brown allegedly told Rihanna, “I’m going to beat the **** out of you when we get home. You wait and see.”
Rihanna called her assistant and left a message saying, “I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there.”
Brown then replied, “You just did the stupidest thing ever. I’m going to kill you.”
According to the report, Brown continued to punch Rihanna, bit her on her ear, her fingers and put her in a headlock — she almost lost consciousness."

So yeah, there's no fucking reason in hell that I should consider forgiving this person. And I hate Charlie Sheen just as much.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sometimes I cant stand this "What have you done for me lately?" forgiving culture. I need a Old Testament grudge holding populace.

  56. I want to like Cheryl, but she makes it difficult. I'm not sure why I've kind of rooted for her, because I'm not a fan of her shit music, and mentally, she isn't the brightest bulb in the marquee. But this is it. She gets no more passes from me. She's an idiot.

I agree that people can change, and I also believe that people should get second chances--when they earn them. From day one after the Rihanna incident, Chris has never given a credible public apology nor uttered a single word of remorse. He apologized maybe once publicly, and it was delivered with all the sincerity of a 5-year-old being "forced" to apologize for something trivial before he can have ice cream. Since then it's been nothing but "poor me, I'm so misunderstood, why can't I get a break, etc." Gross, especially when the entertainment industry has given him nothing BUT break after break since that happened.

I don't see the attraction or the charm in him or his shit music, but even if he is "talented," that doesn't negate what a shitty human being he is. I don't understand people willing to overlook his bs in favor of his "talent." Nothing I've ever seen or heard from Chris Brown as a performer has been particularly unique or memorable. Anyone could take his place. That just makes his supporters even more puzzling to me. Not that I personally think talent necessarily excuses anything, but since he has only the bare minimum amount of it, I don't understand why he's got so many fans and industry support.

Actually, that's not true. There is a genetic componant, but there are also very stong environmental factors (which can trigger onset). Also, there has been a lot of empirical evidence that shows positive reseults for treatment with psychotherapy, especially schema therapy. they arent easy patients, but they are not lost causes.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Mooshki, have you actually ever been in the same room as either of them, during or after the relationship? And no, a facility in which they performed does not count.

Again, guy is King of the Douches, nobody is disputing that.

@Shiny- he actually did give a public apology. A couple of times in the courtroom and once at a press conference that most of the media glossed over (if you still search on TMZ in the archives you can find it).

The CB and RiRi story is the perfect example of how the public is 100% swayed by the media and what they choose and do not choose to report. Happened in the entertainment industry, and it happens in sports, and people make careers off having the public believe whatever they are told. It creates job security, especially for those that make money off these stories on the side from their day jobs.

What i dont understand is why people like charlie sheen and mel gibson can get a pass and move on from their behaviors but cb cant. Im all for giving all men mentioned a fuck off, i just dont understand why no one hollers when charlie gets new projects of commercials and call him out on his extensive past of hurting women.

  64. I would argue that they do Netta, Mel Gibson's career is in the toilet. As for Charlie Sheen's, it's weak at best. Chris Brown seems to have the best career of the three. Mel wasn't at the Oscars, Charlie wasn't at the Emmys but Chris Brown performed TWICE at the Grammys.

The best we can do is boycott their movies/albums/tv shows.
