Brad Pitt Is The New Face Of Chanel No. 5
For the first time in history, Chanel No. 5 will use a man as the face of the brand. What was once the territory of Marilyn Monroe now belongs to Brad Pitt. This week in London, Brad will be shooting his first ad. Good luck seeing the ad in America. It is going to be something you only see if you are outside the country. Brad is being paid $9M for the ad campaign. That is a whole lot of money for about three days work.
*fart sound*
ReplyDeleteYeah. My brain just isn't working on a grown-up level today.
Are you sure it's not Chanel Aged 55? I just never have been into him. Never got the crazy that all of my friends did from that Legends movie.
ReplyDeleteHe used to be "kinda cute" and is now "kinda handsome" to me in his later years, but he has just never been hot or sexy to me.
ReplyDeleteI just don't see it.
That's why it takes all kinds in this world, huh?!
Ive never been a fan but he looks like an aging clown to me in this picture...
ReplyDeletebarf
ReplyDeleteOh guys, you've gotta admit in Fight Club, yummmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteI can see him being the face of Stetson cologne, or some other swill that you could pick up from Rite Aid on the cheap. But Chanel? What the fuck???
ReplyDeleteSorry Brad, but these days your face just plain scares me.
Actually I didn't find his younger self attractive, I think he's aging really well.
ReplyDeleteHe cleans up well, but lately it seems he doesn't want to clean up.
ReplyDeletemsgirl, I think the opposite! I don't think he's aging well and I hate the whole hair thing he's got going on.
ReplyDeleteI used to be so in love with him but now he does absolutely nothing for me.
ReplyDeleteHope he cleaned up for the ad. Chanel No. 5 is a very classic scent. Pitt's usual greasy-haired, drum circle look isn't what I think of when I think Chanel No. 5. The rarely seen clean-cut and shaven Brad could sell Chanel. Although I do think it is ironic that Brad, who starred famously as a Nazi-killer, is shilling for a company that was founded by someone who at the very least was a Nazi sympathizer. I'm sure the ad will be on YouTube soon and we can all take a look.
ReplyDelete@RJ - drum circle look - loves it!!!!! Thanks for the laugh.
ReplyDeletei know Chanel N°5 is an iconic classic perfume but it sucks (in every blind test this perfume is always the worst rated) and Brad Pitt is less expensive than Leo Dicaprio
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he stinks. Let me rush out and buy it now.
ReplyDeleteFrench Girl, haha yeah I tried it some years ago and hated the scent!
ReplyDeletemikey - I think it's because I'm older as well. 56.... I'm happy to say that I don't find young guys that attractive, phew, I'm acting my age for a change!
I like Mademoiselle and wear it regularly though I'm looking for something new but my mom will throw on no. 5 and it stinks up the joint like she doused herself in it. Way too strong. Never understood the popularity of no. 5 amongst the old ladies. The same can be said for Jean Nate or whatever that stuff is called.
ReplyDeleteI find it an odd choice.
ReplyDeleteI don't find him the least bit attractive, but I am a straight male.
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of surprised at all the hate for Brad. I agree, he's always greasy and long haired lately. And I've always been more of a J. Depp, George Clooney fan, but underneath it all, he's still handsome as could be.
Cleaned up Brad is going to look amazing in those Chanel ads, in my opinion.
oh i'm looking forward to the ads. everyone looks dreamy and sexy in their ads. i like him best when he is cleaned up and doesn't speak. just some music playing while he wears white tie at the waist panta and looks out the window from a hotel balcony, breeze through his hair. ummmm. yes please.
ReplyDeleteMatthew McCohahey (just can't spell that) did a SEXY AS HELL add for some cologne awhile ago. Slayed me.
ReplyDeleteDoubt Brad's will be as hot but looking forward to it, I'm sure it will be good.
But yes, he's an odd choice.
I mean, maybe 15 years ago, but Brad Pitt 2012?!?! Say wha?
ReplyDeleteI rock some Chanel Mademoiselle when the fancy strikes me. It's in my rotation for sho.
I'm no marketing genius, so maybe the people who know what they are doing will get this right. Whatevs.
Oh god, Em! I *love* your new picture!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not into Brad, but when they clean him up I'm sure he'll look fab.
ReplyDelete@msgirl:with my first pay 15 years ago,i bought a bottle of Chanel N°5 to my mum and she again has it and the bottle is almost full(i guess now it's toxic)
ReplyDeletei have nothing against Chanel perfumes:i have Coco Mademoiselle and Chance(age tendre)
IMO Brad was at his hottest just before the split with Jen - when he did Snatch (I think that's the name) and Mr & Mrs Smith. The only two BP movies that ever made me sit up and say "Well, hello there!" :) I do think he's an odd choice for Channel no. 5, but I'm guessing the ads will be good - he CAN clean up nicely - when he actually tries.
ReplyDeleteGot to chime in as a gal who's never been a BP fan. Really only like him as an actor when he plays dumb guys (Burn After Reading), but not into his looks - but definitely to each his own.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I thought that was a picture of Val Kilmer.
ReplyDeleteSorry Chanel but you are 10 years too late, photo shop anyone ?
ReplyDeleteIs it hate if you simply don't find him attractive though?
ReplyDeleteI am not a perfume kind of girl, but I especially am not a fan of Chanel No 5. It's gross! As for BP - he's not bad looking, and I like him as an actor, but it's kind of gone downhill for him since he started banging Angelina "Death Eater" Jolie.
ReplyDeleteMy gran wears it...it smells great on her..
ReplyDelete@Me, best line - i like him best when he is cleaned up and doesn't speak.
ReplyDeleteI can apply that line to several men.
Hey msgirl! I'm in my 50's too. I just like to look at the younger guys.
ReplyDeleteHe was incredibly hot in Thelma & Louise & as a stoner in True Romance, but that's it.
ReplyDelete@disco, thank you. The full-size version is on my blog. I think it's a brilliant photo (and funny as hell).
ReplyDeletemikey - yeah I do like to look too but I just don't get especially hot for them! Like they don't enter my fantasies, lol. Actually Bard hasn't either....
ReplyDeleteI've never understood the hype about Brad. Not only does he not look that great, zero elegance, but he has to be one of the least articulate "Alist" actors out there. The guy doesn't even like to bathe, yet he's going to represent Chanel 5?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree on how well Matthew McCoughney (??) cleaned up for that cologne ad. Give him a shower and a well fitted tux...hello Matt!
ReplyDeleteHopefully Brad can do the same, or at least channel Mr. Smith or Rusty from Ocean's Eleven.
@SusanB Good one! What she said.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that He was hot in Fight Club. I had recurring sexual fantasies about Brad after Fight Club for several years
ReplyDeleteSeriously? He needs a shave and a haircut.
ReplyDeleteWho knows, maybe he will be rockin the goat look he did awhile back....
ReplyDeleteBrad Pitt has let himself go in a bad way. He's so scruffy now he looks like a hobo. That man needs a good shave and a haircut! He's lost his once good looks!
ReplyDeleteWell, Fight Club was 13 years ago... And he doesn't look that greasy to me, when I compare him to Johnny Depp. And Johnny gets a lot of swoons on this site
ReplyDeleteBrad's sexiness was hottest around '98 when Fight Club came out. Would make perfect sense for him to have done the Chanel ad back then. But now, he's aged 10 years after taking care of 8 kids in a 5 year window.
ReplyDeleteEmEyeKay- your pix is hilarious..
ReplyDeletedo you think they will make him shower? Now clive owen could make me switch from Shalimar to Chanel
ReplyDeleteI would do him, after we showered together, and I was sure AJ wouldnt find out. Im scared of her. I would do Matthew McCoughney too, after we showered. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the longer hair and the scruffy look. But, Brad looks like he is trying too hard for the Sawyer from Lost look and Josh Holloway does it SO MUCH BETTER.
ReplyDeleteAgree with discoflux. Pffffffffffft!
ReplyDeleteWhen "Seven" came out I wanted to look like that so bad. I got the short spiky haircut, leather jacket and everything. My eyebrows are nothing like his so I wasn't successful. That lasted until "Titanic" came out and then I grow my hair long and floppy like Leo's. After that I don't remember.
ReplyDeleteI totally love younger guys and lust after them all the time....but it's the same kind of way I'd lust after a Picasso or a Rembrandt...you know....works of art. Art appreciation.
ReplyDeleteAngelina "Death Eater" Jolie might be my favorite comment of the day.
ReplyDeletei glad its an actor taking over. I definitly cant get into the ad if a chick is in it. Plus brad is still yummy to me. I would climb that tree no matter what! Facial hair whatever!
ReplyDeleteI like almost all of Chanel's perfumes except No. 5, which always reminds me of old church ladies.
ReplyDeleteI think Brad was most handsome in A River Runs Through It. He seems to have lost his hotness lately, but I'm sure Chanel will fix him up.
Damn...$9mil?
Have to agree w/previous posters. Thelma & Louise and A River Runs through It. He was hot and uncomplicated. Since then, not so much [from what i've seen, and that's not comprensive by any means].
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen Money Ball, but he's probably back in form for that.
'comprehensive'
ReplyDeleteI love Chanel Coco, but No 5 just smells cheap and chemically. Don't get it.
ReplyDeleteI don't dislike Brad, but never got why he's considered so handsome. His features are too small feminine or something. Now *Clooney* is what I'd call classically handsome.
Who are they kidding? This guy used to be quite sexy but after hooking up with Elvira, she promptly sucked all the hotness out. Now he just looks unwashed, greasy and old. Not an great advertisement for any perfume.
ReplyDeletePoor Brad, he gets subject to the same level of beauty scrutiny as the ladies. It ain't fair being so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'm sure he's trying to make like Kurt Russell in the picture above, but he looks more like he's a bathrobe away from being The Dude.
