Blind Item #2 - Kindness
This A list celebrity and former singer who seems to always wear sunglasses was out over the weekend when she stopped to watch a woman on the street singing for money. The celebrity said, "You are better than I ever was. Honestly, so is was everyone." She then actually laughed and dropped $500 into the bucket.
Paula Abdul.
ReplyDeletePosh spice
ReplyDeleteI like Nellie's Victoria Beckham guess.
ReplyDeleteSo she counted out 5 $100 bills? I don't buy it.
ReplyDeletei think nellie's gotta be right. i can't think of anyone else that would admit it
ReplyDeleteLindsay Lohan!
ReplyDeleteLol jk she doesn't have $500
I don't know if Paula's still A-list. Posh would be though. I'm guessing we'll find out on July 4th!
ReplyDeleteI thought of Paula, too.
ReplyDeletePosh is a good guess, too. I honestly think she's probably pretty sweet and surprisingly down-to-earth. I think the same thing about Paula, too.
ReplyDeleteI thought of Paula first, but I do think the Posh guess fits better.
DeletePaula always wears sunglasses? I would definitely say Posh. She's the one always in glasses. Paula is more B list celeb. Posh is an A list celeb by marriage.
ReplyDeleteYes, Posh is A-list celebrity, Paula is not. Posh has really grown on me, she's got a great sense of humor, seems to be a good mom. Ha, I said grown on me, she's the one who needs to do some growing.
ReplyDeleteI think Posh on this.
ReplyDeleteMary j blige
ReplyDeletei think it is general knowledge Posh/Victoria could never sing.
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of VB.
ReplyDeleteI'm down with the VB guess, given the "she then actually laughed" part.
ReplyDeleteThey make $500 notes too. So I hear lol

ReplyDeletePosh. For some reason I feel like she actually isn't really bitchy and all behind the scenes.
ReplyDeleteVictoria Beckham.
ReplyDeleteGod, I love that family so much, I wish I was adopted into it.

ReplyDeleteJust to be different...Jessica Simpson.
ReplyDeleteCher wears sunglasses a lot.
ReplyDeleteYoko Ono!
ReplyDeleteMaja, nice guess! She ALWAYS wears those round Lennon sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteI think it's Posh as well and also agree that she's probably quite nice but her (ahem) diet puts her in a bit of a bad mood. Heck, if I tried to live on lettuce dipped in vinegar I'd probably end up on America's Most Wanted by the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteOoh, Yoko, I like that guess. I do think this is a New York rather than an LA scene, too.
ReplyDeletePaula Abdul is way too insecure and narcissistic to do this. Yoko is an interesting guess, except that I think she thinks she can sing. I like the Posh guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely on the Victoria Beckham train. In spite of her usually surly facial expressions, she does seem to have a pretty good sense of humor about herself.
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be Posh. She knows she can't sing and I really don't think she takes herself all that seriously.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Victoria Beckham. She's always in her big ol' sunglasses , she's openly admitted that she's not a great singer , and she qualifies as "celebrity" being that she's only got her clothing line & general fame now. I like VB though so this is nice to hear :)
ReplyDeleteI like the Yoko guess because it's more likely to see someone on the street walking in NYC vs. LA. Posh may be nice, generous and a poor singer but I cannot see her walking anywhere without a group of paps following her and this would have been widely reported.
ReplyDeleteDon't think it's Yoko because I think she considered herself more of an "artist" than singer.
ReplyDeleteDion Warwick
ReplyDeletejessica simpson?
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE YOKO GUESS and yes I can see Yoko being humble, Victoria Beckham I could never see saying "you are better than me"
ReplyDeleteVictoria Beckham - she always talks about her bad singing.
ReplyDeleteName pretty much anyone on the charts in the last 10 years.
ReplyDeleteI like @Maja's guess. I see VB's eyes all the time, but never Yoko's. However, Yoko believes she can sing, so...
ReplyDeleteOT: how is it that Yoko Ono doesn't age? Is she a vampire?
I think VB's photo in today's photos says it all. Victoria Beckham out over the weekend with her kids wearing her big ole sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think it was Victoria. She seems like a really cool person beneath the scowl
ReplyDeletevictoria
ReplyDeletein madame tussauds they had to superglue her glasses because they were stolen on a daily basis
everyone knows her for her oversized black glasses
if this is true its pretty cool :)
Yoko has been wearing sunglasses everywhere for over 30 years. remember those big, smoke-gray shield glasses she wore for YEARS after John died?
ReplyDeleteIs Yoko Ono an A list celebrity?
ReplyDeleteI agree with nunurbiz--Yoko would never say she was a singer...she considers herself an artist.
ReplyDeleteRobert--Yoko is permanent A-list. Love her or hate her, kind of a living legend at this point.
ReplyDeleteUnknown--Yoko not really being a singer could be why she's so self-deprecating about her time at the mic. She and John 'made art' together, it was just so unfortunate she didn't have talent for music the way John had. But dammit, she tried! Both John & Faul , er Paul were surprisingly willing to include their (ahem) vastly musically un-talented wives in their work.
(I keep wondering if anyone will notice the PID clues. Never happens. No fun.)
PID clues?? I will never forget Yoko's shades. Having sisters a lot older, I was fascinated by fashion wayyyy too young. Much easier to blame them...haha Yoko and her shades, Jackie O...never put VB in the same category, but this will be a fun reveal...
ReplyDeleteI tend to think Posh more than Yoko Ono because Posh did do judging for auditions one summer for American Idol. I don't know why but she was such a natural and at such ease listening to would-be singers -- it just seems more likely somehow that she would stop, listen, comment, and laugh.
ReplyDeleteMV!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVictoria Beckham. And she's right.
ReplyDeleteDionne Warwick is not rumored to be exceptionally kind. Ny vote is with Victoria Beckham.
ReplyDeleteLibby: I was almost convinced during the Faul documentary until the point I remembered how much the McCartney kids looked like Paul in their early childhoods. Whatever happened, all of it is Yoko's fault.
My guess was only half serious, but yes, I do believe Yoko is permanent A list, if only for name recognition.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was a pretty big Macca fan, but what's Faul? Faux/Fake Paul? As in "Paul is Dead" and this guy isn't really him?
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing Maja's Yoko guess, I like that one, too. Yoko, due to her history and name recognition, will ALWAYS be A-List. Absolutely. I personally wonder if Posh will be in ten or twenty years, but I guess she is currently. So, yeah...Yoko or Posh.
Also, just pointing out that Linda was always totally up-front about not having much talent, and I always thought that was pretty cool of her. I remember the "48 Hours" interview during the "Flowers in the Dirt" tour where she laughed and admitted that kids in a H.S. band could play keyboards better than her, but it was so important to her and Paul to work and tour together. Oh, how I love them both...one of my Top Five favorite celebrity couples ever.
ReplyDeleteYoko Ono was classically educated in opera.. she's got a beautiful voice and impressive range. I know you all only know her 'yodeling' so think she's easy to dismiss. However she does appear to have a generous soul so the large donation would not be out of character. I think the self-deprecation lends itself to being Victoria Beckham.

This HAS to be Victoria Beckham. As soon as I read it I knew it had to be her. Posh Spice may have a permanent sour look on her face, but I always remember about how she says she just does that because she hates her smile and thinks she looks ugly when she smiles. I think one of David Beckham's family members once stated that Victoria loves to laugh behind closed doors. I also remember a cheeky interview Victoria and David did with Ali G for Comic Relief UK, like, six or seven years ago or so, and Victoria seemed to be really at ease with Sascha Baron Cohen's character poking a LOT of fun at her.
