Blind Item #2 - Kindness
What B- list actress who seems to be on everything, but is really just on one hit show and one middling show and a movie here and there spends a significant portion of her time and income helping out military families. About a year ago she ran into a woman who was barely out of her teens and had a baby and her husband was going to get some leave but didn't have time to come all the way back home from Afghanistan and then go all the way back. So, our actress paid for the mom and child to meet the dad in Europe. Since then she has contributed money to other reunion efforts, managed to get a lot of sponsors to donate things to help out other military families and will speak anytime and any place about her passion for helping them.

ReplyDeleteAlison Brie from mad men and community
ReplyDeleteSarah Michelle Gellar? http://www.examiner.com/article/actress-sarah-michelle-gellar-hosts-baby-shower-for-40-military-moms-to-be
ReplyDeletePatty Heaton
ReplyDeleteLove the compassion and generosity of whom ever this is.
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of BI I like to see. Positive stories about celebs doing something nice for others with their considerable wealth.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Maya Rudolph?
Okay, but the good deed is a little off. I served in the military and, although I never went to Afghanistan, during my two tours in Iraq they give you 2 weeks off for your R&R, not including the days you use to travel. But who knows, maybe something was lost in translation after the story trickled down.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very selfless thing to do, regardless.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful of whoever it is. Hope it's revealed so I can support this actress.
ReplyDeleteMegan Mullaley?
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful story. I have no idea who it is.
ReplyDeleteGreat story, this should be revealed.
ReplyDeleteI was going to guess Patricia Heaton, but she's more A list TV.
ReplyDeleteI like the Alison Brie guess. She seems to be everywhere of late.
Great story, this should be revealed.
ReplyDeleteLOVE stories like this, and can't wait for it to be revealed :)
ReplyDeleteI thought Alison Brie too. Community, Mad Men, and The 5 Year Engagement.
ReplyDeleteSadly this type of selfless behavior doesn't get more press because those doing it don't leverage it for the sake of publicity -- they're just decent human beings sharing their good fortune as private citizens.
ReplyDeleteJanuary Jones? She is everywhere lately.
ReplyDeleteSheri Sheppard - not very blind i think she talked about helping the military family once.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Chelsea Handler? She had three shows on network TV and books....
ReplyDeletemiddling meant the middle in the chris kattan blind. i think it is patricia heaton. i love her, i wish they would let her wear her short hair on the show and not that awful wig
ReplyDeleteyou say B- actress, I say A+ human
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see more of these types of stories
It sounds more like Alison Brie to me.
ReplyDeletePlease reveal this on July 4th! (woo hoo - only 5 more weeks!)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but Patricia Heaton is an AWFUL human being. There is no way in HELL this is her.
ReplyDeleteI agree, but sometimes awful human beings will do nice things to make people think they aren't awful. When celebs do this, they tend to do it up big. If it's Heaton, she's fooling no one.
DeleteI was thinking the same thing. Patricia Heaton is the devil in disguise!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Patricia Heaton is the devil in disguise!
ReplyDeleteI believe Chelsea Handler's father was in the military.
ReplyDeleteLove this one, and I'll be absolutely SHOCKED if it's Patricia Heaton.
ReplyDeleteWow, whats with all the heaton hate??
ReplyDeleteRemember the recent kindness blind that was pretty obviously Gary Sinise?
ReplyDeletePer his website he was in Martinsville, VA last Thursday to perform with the Lt. Dan Band as part of a fundraiser for Cpl. JB Kerns. The proceeds of the concert will benefit the construction of his new Smart Home through our Building for America’s Bravest™ partnership.
I thought Alison Brie immediately. What other show is Heaton on?
ReplyDeleteAuntie, she's a horrible bitch.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is not Patricia, that evil crazy biatch doesn't deserve any credit for what she does.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is Alison Brie, she'll be living up to her Disney face!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Kat Dennings...she's been on quite a few things.
ReplyDeleteI think some people are automatically guessing some of the more well known right-wing conservative actors because maybe they think they'd be more apt to help military famiies?
ReplyDeleteI think this is not always the case. I think that people sometimes forget that liberals can hate the war but appreciate and honor those who serve the country. If I had the money I would help reunite people too. But then again I think liberals are pretty caring people all around: we care about people's civil rights (Im thinking gays and women's reproductive health), we care about protecting the environment, ergo it makes sense we'd also care about reuniting families.
Therefore I also dont see Heaton shelling out ANY money for others like this, if anything she's probably busy protesting a Planned Parenthood or giving money to those in power who can repeal gay rights or something.
It could be a registered independent !!:)
ReplyDeleteThis has to be Allison Brie. Love this, love her.
ReplyDeleteJulie Bowen? Some movies (Horrible Bosses) hit show (Modern Family) and...well, what is BitchFace Heaton's other show anyway?
ReplyDeleteSo Patricia Heaton can't do something nice because she is pro-life? Love the tolerance of liberals here. I think Heaton was the answer to a blind a couple of years ago about an actress who spends every Thanksgiving at a soup kitchen and takes her kids with her to help serve food to the homeless. This could definitely be her.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand all the hate for Patricia Heaton. No one has given a single example of her "bitchiness". Is it her politics and/or her pro-life stance that cause you to hate her?
ReplyDeleteAs for her giving money away, in the past couple of years she offerred to donate $1 for every person who followed Reece's Rainbow on Twitter (or something like this). Reece's Rainbow is an organization that helps families with the cost of adopting special needs children from foreign countries. Many of these precious children age out of orphanages early (5 years old) & are placed in deplorable conditions in institutions.
YES! Sometimes a persons personal beliefs DO make them a horrible person!

If that's not glib cunt-like behavior from a holier than thou person with her head up her own ass I dont know what is.
People, I have said it before and I say it again -- just because someone doesn't agree with YOU politically speaking, that doesn't make them a horrible person. It makes them NOT YOU. If you go around hating everyone who disagrees with you, all it shows is that YOU are a judgmental, close-minded jerk. People can believe different things and still be nice people. I disagree with Martin Sheen on lots of political issues, but I admire his dedication to his causes.
ReplyDeleteAnd re: the Sanrda Fluke thing -- I do not necessarily think that Fluke is a slut. It's really none of my business if she is, and I think it's immaterial to the discussion. And I do agree that insurance companies should be forced to cover birth control. However, I believe that she lied about her experience getting and affording birth control, enrolled in Georgetown specifically to push her agenda, and is a politico wannabe who was just trying to make a name for herself.
ReplyDeleteThe world is over populated. If we continue to not use birth control including abortion, we will run out of resources. Then things are going to get way uglier than abortion. Leave Patricia Heaton alone regarding this issue.
ReplyDelete@Texshan; It's not her political agenda, its the way she belittles people who don't agree with her, see the Twitter-bashing of that girl. She was so rude, basically calling the girl a whore for wanting birth control covered by insurance-companies.
ReplyDeletePeople should be able to believe what they believe in, their own business, not mine.
But if you start acting like a biatch on a high horse because of that, then FU!
Especially because the girl on Twitter's claims and arguments were pretty good, and because miss Heaton had no respond of substance for her, she just started bashing and making fun of her. Very weak and bitchy.
Imo, aside from the whole Heaton-drama, Birthcontrol should be free/cheap through insurance. There are so many babies being born that can't be taken care of and it will drop the abortionrate, which is way more expensive than simple birthcontrol.
And besides that, Viagra is in a lot of insurance company's deals; why not birthcontrol? \But hey, just my opinion..
Heaton has four boys. Her chickens will come home to roost. Anyway, i think shes someone who talks first, then goes " oops". Think of all the apologies shes had to make. Anyway, her opinions are of no more import to me than Phil the barber down the block.
ReplyDeleteThe chick who plays Trudy on Mad Men and is also on I think Community...agree with earlier poster.
ReplyDelete"However, I believe that she lied about her experience getting and affording birth control, enrolled in Georgetown specifically to push her agenda, and is a politico wannabe who was just trying to make a name for herself."
ReplyDeleteYou have GOT to be kidding me -- she went to the trouble of getting herself into law school just to raise a ruckus three years later? Whatever, dude.
It's Mila Kunis. Who seems to be everywhere but hasn't done a TON of movies. She's on a hit show (Meg on Family Guy) and a middling show (Robot Chicken - that's typically shorter than normal shows and in the middle of Adult Swim). She also attended a US Marine Corps Ball with a Sgt.
ReplyDeleteThink there are some great guesses here and snaps to whoever did this. Either a conservative or liberal person could be supportive of troops/military families so that is not really an indicator. Reveal!
ReplyDeleteBut quickly on Patricia Heaton- there are many public figures who have views that differ from mine. I can respect that for sure. But she is a different story. She is a vile individual, as her ridiculous comments and apology with regards to the Sandra Fluke issue demonstrated-- but not just that, she was on Raymond for years, and has run her mouth on any number of subjects for a long time, you can easily find her enlightened statements all over the internet. I don't care that she doesn't have the same views as me. I do mind however that she is incredibly uninformed and that her views are particularly... hateful. Like Old Testament hateful. I'm not religious but I'm pretty sure that Jesus wouldn't be about joining in with Rush Limbaugh to laugh at a law student who is unmarried in her 30s and has sex (and seriously? to the person who thinks the law student purposely went to Gtown so as a 3L she would become famous/known for this, that isn't really how things work, she would have truly had to have a crystal ball to set that up, that is a ridiculous assertion). So I think Patricia Heaton deserves every bit of dislike that comes at her via the internet-- it's karma for all the hate she has put out there over the years.
