$5 Gets You A Fake Girlfriend On Facebook

Desperate to impress your friends? No one writing on your Facebook wall? Your phone stay silent when you are out with friends? There is a new company that offers the service of women. I have to stop right there. Whenever I read something like this it is always a service for men. Have you noticed there are apparently no women who are desperate enough that they would pay $5 to have someone to pretend to be their boyfriend. This company offers women who for $5 will post messages on your Facebook wall and pretend they are your girlfriend. They will even text you once or twice a day so you can impress your friends with your hot girlfriend. Here is my question about this. $5 is not a lot of money. So, is this woman going to retire after she earns your $5? Of course not. So, it stands to reason that if she is attractive enough or popular enough that she is going to be the girlfriend of multiple people. To the point where people are going to recognize her and know you spent $5 to have a fake girlfriend. I don't think that logic has sunk through to the guys who signed up because there are 1,600 guys who have signed up for 300 women. See? That is one guy for every 5 women. Maybe if these guys spent a little less time playing video games and a little more time showering and meeting people they would not have to pay $5.

  1. I would think there are women who want fake boyfriends. Guys need to get in on the action.

  2. Kinda of reminds me of people who leave the models in frames and pretend.

  3. The math nerd in me needs to point out the mistake here - it's not one guy for every five women, it's five guys for every one woman.

  10. @Beta, excellent point. We grill. Who really looks at other people's pictures on FB? I barely pay attention to them on my newsfeed and I'm definitely not clicking on someone's vacation album that contains 140 pictures. I'm also terrible at recognizing people so three different pictures could look like three different people to me.

I'm at that age where all my friends now have babies and vacation in Disneyworld. The only person that calls is my mom and my main source of texts are my husband with the occasional friend texting me to tell me about the hideous outfit they saw or to watch whatever crap is on TLC. So all that to say, I'd like more texts.

  13. Maybe it's $5.00 per text/tweet/FB post. At 2 a day of each, that's $30.00 per day. Do that with 4 guys in different areas of the country - it could be a nice source of income.

I miss the world when it was Facebook free. If I saw Mark Zuckerberg I would run him over with my car. Congratulations Zuck, I just added you to a long line of 'musicians.'

  15. Yeah, because all of us gamers are introverted smelly nerds that live in our mothers' basements.

What's the weather like back there in 1988?

  16. I actually sort of agree with Enty's sentiment though.

I think there's this grey area (not to be confused with 50 Shades of Grey LOLOL) where men continue to live frat-boy style well into their 20s and even early 30s. I know SO many dudes who still party, hold down shitty-ish jobs, hook up with random chicks on the weekend, and play video games on the daily.

And it's stunting them. It's stunting their communication skills, and their ability to form and sustain relationahips in general.

So yeah, I get Enty's point. And the scary thing is these dudes dont live in Mom's basement and look cray cray- they are undercover normal and walk amongst us and it's what us girls have to wade through in the dating pool (shudder).

Paying a chick 5$ to make you feel more connected to the outside world isnt gonna solve shit- except maybe help you empty your bank account that much quicker.

    @FSP...I'll be ur girlfriend...got $5?

  18. @Jasmine I think it's fair to say that there are plenty of immature and shallow women in the dating pool as well.

And the problem is, they're also undercover. They walk around, wearing horrid knit caps and hipster shoes so you'd think they're not shallow, but then you start talking to them and they use phrases like "cray cray" and you're just like, damn.

    It's an epidemic.

  21. I'm not a facebook fan either! I get on maybe once a month. I don't want to see people's vacations or children. By the way, I don't want pics of my kids out there like that either. My hubs refusing to sign up for facebook. He thinks it's "killing us as humans."

I think facebook is just another way for people to compare their lives to others and who needs that?

  23. I love FB but I quickly unFriend someone if I get sick of their over the top posts about how great their life is when I KNOW it's in the shitter. I hate fake people, I especially hate fake DUMB people.
Unfortunately I believe I know men who would sign up for this service rather than meeting real life women :(

  24. The fact that this exists and is working does not surprise me in the least. And on the flip side, I knew someone who sent herself flowers to work for the same reasons.
