11 Episodes Of Gossip Girl Left
I don't know what the CW is going to do next year when they lose their one decent hit show. They might just fold up their network and call it a day. or they might just turn it over to the Kardashians. The sad reality is their show gets as many viewers as Gossip Girl. Just 11 more episodes of the show were ordered by the CW and Blake Lively is not really going to be in that many of them. When asked who he would like to see revealed as the Gossip Girl, Chace Crawford said he would love for it to be Ed Westwick. See, now that is a brilliant piece of writing there. That would be great. Not going to happen, but great. It is amazing that the actors on the show have made it so big considering how few people really watch the show. That being said, when the original 90210 went off the air and The OC, people thought all those actors would be huge stars for years to come too.
I have never watched this show; won't miss it.
ReplyDeleteI will still have my "Supernatural" and "Nikita," so I'm fine.
Same here, never watched it, dont gv rats ass
ReplyDeleteSome give a cat's whiskers. Funny how that works.
ReplyDelete:-D
GG was good for a couple of years, but it's gone downhill. They likely should end it now, but I guess the 11 episodes are for wrap-up and the reveal of who's Gossip Girl.
All of the actors are doing movies now, impressive when most shows like GG don't develop superstars.
However will I sleep at night?! ;)
ReplyDeleteAdmission: a couple years ago I netflixed all the seasons and watched them in two weeks. Now I Hulu the show. I don't know why I watch this, I really don't. I kind of like the clothes. Also, I have a creepy (because he's so young) crush on Chuck, especially when I heard his real voice. He's so elegantly smarmy.
Now my secret's OUT!
I love Gossip Girl; and seeing as how it's about the damage that is done to their lives by an anonymous gossip blogger I can see where Enty might be into it, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI have very inappropriate feeling for Chuck, too! I watched GG the first season and part of the second. I thought the clothes were amazing.
ReplyDeleteI personally love GG. I convinced my BF and a male coworker to watch it, and they're both hooked. Hah.
ReplyDeleteWith the way the season finale ended, it'll be interesting to see how they wrap it up in 11 episodes - it might be a little hasty. I suppose they could just leave ends loose, though.
@EmEyeKay Last fall, I ran into Chuck in the bathroom at Dream Downtown. It has a communal sink/mirror area, and he was taking pictures with some girl. He's quite short (I do also tower over 6 ft in heels), but looks good!
Season 1 and 2 were amazing. Season 5 was the absolute worst. Hopefully now that safran is leaving this show can get the proper sendoff it deserves
ReplyDeleteUpdate...I just told my BF that there were only 11 episodes left.
ReplyDeleteBF: EVER?
Me: yeah
BF: noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
First off, very few people watch this show, it was only renewed because it is considered the CW's brand show - even though Vampire Diaries, Supernatural get better ratings. Dumb if you ask me, put it out of its misery. All the actors are gossip site stars, but certainly not stars otherwise. Blake Lively, yes, the others no. Name one movie that one of the guys did that did any $$. And Leighton is an excellent actress but as only appeared in bombs or TV movies. They might have future careers in TV, but movies no way. And again, I am speaking of everyone but Blake Lively. Blake has forged a career for herself largely on PR and her relationships with men, but kudos to her. I don't like her as an actress, but if she pulls off Savages I will be the first to applaud her.
ReplyDeleteCW hung on to too many shows barely making it. They should have canceled GG, Hart of Dixie and Nikita.
I love GG but Vampire Diaries is their hit show and it's better. I wonder why they didn't renew for 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteNever watched the show, but isn't it based on books?
ReplyDeleteDo the books reveal who GG is?
I love GG. Penn Badgley has a movie coming out this year called Greetings from Tim Buckley.
ReplyDelete@Amber: lucky girl!
ReplyDelete@RJ: so I'm NOT the only one... :)
I think The Vampire Diaries is their one decent hit show. I actually think, because so many people I know like them, that Supernatural and Nikita are supposed to be pretty decent, too, but TVD is most certainly their most-watched show, and it's pretty much been a hit since it started. Just sayin.
ReplyDeletei used to love GG in high school, but I stopped watching in 2010 when they brought in Hilary Duff and Michelle Trachtenburg. (sp?) it just got bad. I'll proabbly netflix and catch up, then watch the last episodes, just to see who they name as Gossi[ Girl though
ReplyDeleteThey already named Gossip Girl as Georgina Sparks/Michelle Trachtenberg. But since the voice over is Kristen Bell it would of been much better if they could of worked Kristen into the show in some clever way for the last episode.
ReplyDeleteI checked out after that ugly guy tried to rape Taylor Momsen's character and nobody really cared.
ReplyDeleteGeorgina isn't GG. She took over for a couple episodes because the spectator took down GG. Then Serena posed as GG and finally GG took back the site.
ReplyDeleteoh ok, thanks Rose I was just going by what I had read. I haven't kept up with the show for a few years.
ReplyDeleteThey should have ended it this season. Season 3 and 5 (this season)were pretty awful and the storylines contrived. It had potential, but so did the OC and Schwartz and Savage just mess it up by trying to be jaw dropping and it falls short every time.
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl was never decent and never close to a hit
ReplyDeletethe ones who deserve awesome careers after this show is the wardrobe dept. seriously. #fabulous
ReplyDeleteyou guys are freaking me out w/ the ed westwick love...nothing against the dude...but i'm traumatized after those miami pics of him looking all doughy, flabby, and badly tattooed. the guy has never seen the door of a gym, nor been introduced to good tat artists. eww, ewww, ewwwwwwinfinity.
I liked GG the first 1-2 seasons due to Chuck and Blair.
ReplyDeleteI think Chuck is creepily hot, too. He's the only reason I kind of miss that show (gave up sometime in the third season.) Oh, and Dorota. I liked her, too.
ReplyDeleteI am attracted to a lot of asshole characters, honestly. (But not punk-ish bad boy types. Ick. Met too many of them in high school and they made my skin crawl even then.) Nothing but decent, solid guys for me in real life, but when they're fictional, I like 'em dirty bad and wrong.
i love gg and will be sad, when it's gone. I also love, TVD, Nikita and SPN so I'm CW fan. I don't know what I would do if they cancelled SPN. Love them winchester boys! and CASTIEL!!!!
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Gossip Girl.
Fuck GG and their glamorization of an abusive relationship. Worst.Show.Ever.
ReplyDeleteNo prob timebob, it's confusing.
ReplyDeleteNo, Gossip Girl needs to be Eric. Or Kristen Bell. But they likely aren't going to name Gossip Girl because it would mess with the books.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they put Chuck and Blair back together. Blair and Dan were so cute D:
ReplyDeleteThis show is my very embarrassing guilty pleasure. Like EmEyeKay, I'm in it partially for the aesthetic. Great clothes and locations. I know the stories and acting are questionable, but it fills whatever smut quota CDAN doesn't meet.
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl could be Little J.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe anyone would rather see Blair with Dan. Dan is such a snore. I could live with Serena getting back with him just because she's been on the downward spiral with guys since their breakup, but I don't see any other use for him and his greasy hair.
Dan and Blair were the best. She deserves everything she has coming to her. I wonder who will Chuck pimp her to next?
ReplyDeleteI hate Blair and Dan together. It just doesn't fit and there is no sexual chemistry whatsoever. Both Blair and Chuck have gone through a lot of changes, they both grew as people and made sacrifices for eachother. Over the whole course of the show they've shown how much they are willing to do for eachother. Sure bad things happened, but I can't believe their love isn't real.
ReplyDeleteIf the show ends with them not being together I'm gonna be disappointed.
Other characters haven't shown this kind of growth in personality/actions; Momma vd Woodsen is the same old golddigger/statushorny biatch again, Dan is still being whiney and Serena still believes the whole world revolves around her.
*rereads previous post*
ReplyDeleteGod, why am I being so deep and serious about this pretty bad show -.-
I would love it if Jenny turns out to be GG, bring back Taylor Momsen in her gothoutfit just for that. That would be golden.
tbh, don't think the real GG will ever be revealed. In the first seasons it was very important for the characters to find out who she was, but now it's more something going on on the background. And I think knowing who it is is not gonna add much to the story, it would only raise more questions, especially if it turns out to be a regular character (if it was an unknown person it wouldn't be interesting to reveal; everyone would be like: 'oh, don't know her, blah').
I'm still watching. I love the clothes, NYC and ridiculous teen dramas so it all fits. I think Leighton is the best actress on the show but her constant bickering with Serena and wavering on Chuck is getting really old. I'd love to see Kristen Bell as GG!
