Tommy Marth Has Died
A saxophonist for rock band The Killers died earlier this week at his Las Vegas home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, a spokeswoman for the Clark County Coroner said on Thursday.
Thomas "Tommy" Marth, 33, who played saxophone on live tours with The Killers between 2008 and 2010 and on their albums "Sam's Town" and "Day & Age," was found dead on Monday.
Wow that is so sad. RIP
ReplyDeleteMy favorite band from a few years ago -- Sad stuff!
ReplyDeleteI loved this band! This is really sad.
ReplyDeletePoor guy. We never really know what pain someone is trying to cope with and unfortunatly it can sometimes result in an end like this. RIP and many comforting thoughts to those he left behind.
ReplyDeleteHot Fuss & Sam's Town were played SO many times, over and over... this is really sad - it is anytime takes their own life - but this guy was in my living room and my car, that makes it worse.
ReplyDeleteTwo of their best albums too...so sad. Rest in peace, young man.
ReplyDeletePoor guy. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with sax players lately??
ReplyDeleteRIP. I know the Killers are devastated.
ReplyDeleteHow sad. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteThis is a complicated and very sad situation for not just the band, friends and loved ones. Please no snark on this; it's already incredibly hard to process for those who know him.
ReplyDeleteThis didn't come out very well. I just mean to write that it's easy to speculate on events like this, and for people close to the situation it's hard to read any negative comments. I love most if the commenters and this site and I was a bit shocked to see this on here. So, please, just good thoughts to his friends and loved ones.
DeleteRIP. Love the band and I'm so saddened over this.
ReplyDeleteHow very sad, I love The Killers. Yawnathon, if you knew him, I am really sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteAlways terrible news when someone takes their life. I really dig The Killers. RIP.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love The Killers. What a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love The Killers. What a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteVery very sad. The Killers rock.
ReplyDeleteWhy are so many talented people taking their lives these days? Does it seem to others like it's an epidemic? Or is the media just reporting it more. I know at one time it was verboten to write a story about a suicide. (McSpanky knows because McSpanky used to be a rather medium-big journalist and McSpanky knew about many suicides that could not be writ.)
Sigh. Rest in peace, dude.
Damn. This is heartbreaking. I hope he now has the peace he was aching for.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. McSpanky, that is the policy in Australia as well. When they do write they never write suicide just allude to it and they put phone numbers for organizations like Lifeline at the end of the article.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so sad. I love the Killers. R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight. Travel Well.
ReplyDeleteRest in Peace Tommy, Rest in Peace.
