National Enquirer Blind Item
WHICH movie star-turned-TV actress is having problems in her 10-year marriage because the couple can’t have children of their own? She’s been on fertility drugs for years and her sports star hubby refuses to adopt.

Wow-this sounds like the PERFECT environment in which to raise children in (sarcasm).
ReplyDeleteMother Nature could be inserting her influence in this one and saying Hell Naw! to these two procreating.
Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti.
ReplyDeleteGreat guess Layna!
ReplyDeleteI was going to go with Ashley and Dario as well ... they've been married for just over 10 years and she's mentioned her desire to have a family in the past.
ReplyDeleteWow -- that would explain her puffiness (fertility drugs.) Everyone's been speculating about plastic surgery and whatnot. Poor girl.
ReplyDeleteGreat guess, Layna!
ReplyDeleteHey, even a broken clock is right two times a day! Hee, hee!
ReplyDeleteI sort of have a soft spot for Ashley. I enjoyed her performances in Kiss the Girls and Bug. Bug is a great little thriller with Michael Shannon and Harry Connick, Jr. Highly recommended.
I'm not going to knock someone for not wanting to adopt. My stepdaughter had a lot of trouble getting pregnant. When I suggested adoption to her, she admitted she and her husband had thought about it, but she has an adopted cousin who grew up to be a drunk, crack addicted prostitute (who recently had a baby herself). She said she knew it was irrational, but that just put her off adoption. She said she would have too much trouble getting past that.
ReplyDeletenice job Layna -- I think you nailed it!
ReplyDeleteI too have a soft spot for Ashley. Hell, I have one for all the Judd's. Bug was one of THE weirdest, strangest movies I've ever watched.
ReplyDelete@Jasmine-My thoughts exactly on both fronts.
ReplyDeleteyes yes, that would explain the bloat...I watched my neighbor go through this also...
ReplyDeleteyes, because fertility issues are a punishment and/or warning from God ~eyeroll~ what a shitty thing to say
ReplyDeleteRead Ashley's book, i got the impression she didnt want to have children so she can do her work overseas with sex slaves. I'd be surprised it its her. She slso has wacky ass mother in her life, clouding issue. Read the book- naomi's a piece of work!! When she decided she and Wyn wanted to be in show biz, she Wld just take off with wyn for like days at a time, leaving 12 year old Ashley ON HER OWN!! No money, no food. Appalling!
ReplyDeleteAshley Judd has publicly stated she doesn't want children, natural or adopted.
ReplyDelete@Henriette Just because she said that, it doesn't make it true.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think this is Ashley. Enty has implied in the past (I think) that she does not want children.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why this is a blind. I'm all for gossip, but this seems kind of mean. It is the National Enquirer though.
ReplyDelete@Jasmine - I think that any couple going through something like this would be in the middle of a rough patch. I don't think it means they would be bad parents.
@Jasmine
ReplyDeleteYears of infertility issues will put stress on a marriage. That's not uncommon. And adoption is not for everyone. This alone won't make for a toxic environment to have children in. There isn't enough information in those TWO whole sentences to judge that.
I'm not sure if you've read the news lately, but there are some pretty horrific people out there having children. Abusing their children. Raping their children. Neglecting their children. Recklessly endangering their children. Murdering their children. I really doubt Mother Nature is taking much notice of these two.
As someone who is childless by choice, I am certain that if Ashley Judd has stated publicly that she doesn't want children, then that is EXACTLY what she meant!! Damn, I hate it when people ask me when I'm having kids or why I don't have kids and when I tell them that I don't want kids they say crap like "Sure you do!" or "Of course you do!"
ReplyDeleteOr even worse "What's the matter? Can't you have any?" as if the only reason a woman wouldn't have them is because she can't!! Not every woman wants kids. We don't hate kids. We just don't want to be parents. We aren't lying when we say it. We aren't covering up a fertility problem. Why would we? Why would there be any shame to infertility?
@RJ Thank you Thank you Thank you. Very well said.
ReplyDelete@RJ
ReplyDeleteHear Hear!
Ashley is a great guess and fertility problems are no fun.
ReplyDeleteOh and @Jasmine is an idiot.
ReplyDelete@Popcorn Sutton said "I think that any couple going through something like this would be in the middle of a rough patch. I don't think it means they would be bad parents."
ReplyDeleteThis is a good point, and I concur with that.
For the most part I was snarking and only 1/2 serious.
I DO think that people who (according to this) have spend A DECADE trying different ways to procreate and it's now begun to damage their relationship/marriage- all I'm saying is this is not the best or most conducive environment to introduce a child to. Of course people with fertility problems does not neccessarily mean this is 'Mother Nature's' way of saying they would be bad parents or shouldnt have kids.
BUT the obviously stress and emotional shit it sounds like this woman is going through CAN have an effect on her chances of conceiving, and ultimatly this is MOther Nature (or whatever you want to call it) saying to slow down, calm down and relax. So, if I have to nuance out my snark, this is what I meant to say (though it's not as fun or pithy).
And Kyliegirl1234- listen newbie, calm down. You can disagree but resorting to name calling- really? take a chill pill
@SmokeandMirrors
ReplyDeleteYeah, Ashley could be lying about not wanting kids, but why? She would look even dumber if she came out pregnant.
@Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteYou're an ignorant asshole and a mean-spirited fuck. But I'm only half-serious, so it's okay.
Love always,
a newbie
I know a couple that openly said they never wanted kids. We ranted together about the horrors of parenting (don't hate on me yet). Then after telling this BS story for like 6 yrs they get pregnant and said ... we always wanted kids but got tired of people being in our business. Now they have 2. Who knows why people say and do the crazy shit they do?
ReplyDelete@jasmine
ReplyDeleteI know what you were trying to say. Sometimes it's a bad genetic match or something else at home or life stresses that keep people from getting pregnant. Sometimes nature DOES know. Pregnancy can be a complicated thing.
But nothing is more heartbreaking than a couple who wants babies and can't have them.

ReplyDeleteTrying to get pregnant for ten years would put a strain on any marriage. Refusing to consider adoption has to make things even worse. Many times after adoption everyone relaxes and the woman ends up getting pregnant. I know a few people that this happened to.
