Yesterday all I had time to do was Tweet about Amanda Bynes' arrest for DUI. I didn't have time to comment on her pink hair which is a sure sign you are in for a hard fall. You should never be driving when you are drunk, but lets say you do. Lets say you risk it. Don't you think that while you are passing a police car, you should take extra care not to hit said police car. Actually what you should do is wait it out until the police car moves. Amanda hit the car and the next thing you now she was in jail and now all the stories she has kept hidden are going to start flying out of the woodwork like crazy. Everyone is going to find out why she has not been working and why she has been acting crazy and why on earth she did the whole pink hair thing.
But we already know, so we're ahead of the game!

ReplyDeleteThe first thought I had when I read this sad tale yesterday was what would happen if I got into my car drunk and hit a police car here in NOLA.
ReplyDeleteHere would be the two extreme (but could happen, I'm afraid) reactions of the cops. In Scenario A, they too would be drinking, and would laugh off my my mistake and offer me a beer. In Scenario B, they would just shoot me.

Her reasoning was she was not having fun anymore and she doesn’t do things she doesn’t enjoy. But according to The Daily Beast…it might be more of a ‘the industry doesn’t want her anymore’ thing more than ‘she doesn’t want to act anymore’ thing.
Amanda has struggled to make the cross0ver from Nickelodeon child star to adult actor. Despite having a few decent roles in some mediocre movies… What A Girl Wants, Hairspray….world on the street is that her diva like behavior has caused Hollywood to all but shun her for any adult role. No one has yet to utter the words “meltdown” or “drug addiction” but there has got to be something behind her erratic behavior.
She was fired this spring from the Farrelly brothers’ film Hall Pass, according to a person familiar with the project. That seems to have coincided with a break within her that Bynes is now enacting in public. Her Twitter feed has become a place for what seems like compulsive oversharing, not just about retiring, but other random topics as well—for example, her interest in trying magic mushrooms and her sexual attraction to black men. (She has been linked on and off with rapper Kid Cudi, and has tweeted about him obliquely for months.)
Though sources say her CAA agents had a please-get-help talk with her this year, Bynes has so far resisted. And her parents, whom she has supported for years, have not been able to get the actress back on track. Her friends are concerned about her behavior.
Meanwhile, rumors began to surface that Bynes could be “difficult.” In 2007, she was invited to the Turks and Caicos Film Festival, where she was being honored with a rising star award. And things reportedly didn’t go well.
Shortly after the festival was done, a nasty item appeared on the New York Post’s Page Six alleging that for the event, Bynes demanded two first-class plane tickets, two double hotel suites, and then “failed” to show up at any of the scheduled events she’d committed to. “I literally didn’t see her for days after she arrived at the hotel,” an “organizer” told the gossip column. “Everyone was wondering where she was. She was off jet-skiing, treating it like a vacation.”"
Didn't even recognize her in the mugshot, she looks puffier than usual.

ReplyDeleteWELL if you look up the producers of shows Amanda Bynes has been on as a teen you'll find Brian Robbins - was a teen actor himself in Head of the Class, but is not the same as the Head of the Class alum who is the Nick producer of iCarly etc (Dan Schneider, he was the big guy on Class, Brian Robbins was the one in a leather jacket.) ANYWAYS Robbins was a producer on All That, The Amanda Show, and What I Like About You AND producer on Sonny With a Chance staring Demi Lovato.
He seems to have produced often with Michael Tollin, but Michael Tollin did not produce Sonny With A Chance.
There is also Jamie Lynn Spears, another teen star who've we've consider as part of these blinds - she was in All That for 2002-2004. Dan Schneider was the creator of her show Zoey 101 so we assumed... yeah, I think the Demi Lovoto and Amanda Bynes connection and Jamie Lynn Spears is like THE trifecta here.

They showed one of her "All That", and it was legitimately funny. The cynical people I was watching it with and I all agreed that she had major potential. Shame what happened...

I'm not buying that so many people are so untouchable in Hwood. With the advent of the internet and the public getting so sophisticated, I don't see "studios" being so protective of stars, producers, etc. In the 1920s-1960s, yeah studios did shady shit, but now it's too much to attempt to control.
I take any BI and insider gossip with a grain of salt JMHO. Sorry for the ramblings.

You get several years of pleasantness on the outside and the worst conditions ever on a show on the inside. The former tweener had a huge ego. Coming off some movies and a very popular tween show she thought she was going to be the biggest star on the planet. She also had a very goody goody image on the outside, but on multiple occasions had more than one guy at once. She is also a huge collector of her own homemade porn.

She also could be the biggest bitch on the planet if you crossed her. How about the times that our tweener would walk around naked when the actresses husband would stop by the set. "Oops. I did not know you were here." Not that she would ever normally have sex with him. She likes big, big big guys if you know what I mean. However, to get back at the actress she would have slept with the husband who is also a B list movie actor.
For years the two never spoke to each other unless they had to. Knowing how prudish the actress was, our tweener would have wild sex as loudly and as close to the actress as possible even when her kids were visiting. She would even have sex in the actresses' trailer and have her companions leave their used condoms. It was a wild wild set and the two still hate each other.

TMZ has some film footage from a recent situation in which an apparently inebriated Ms. Bynes gets behind the wheel of her SUV after the valet parking attendant pulls up in it; even a paparazzi on site is saying she is "too wasted," "shouldn't be driving," and chides the valet for letting her drive. This was only a matter of time.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, I have to say this about Amanda, and starlets like her: they're the victims of institutionalized abuse, greed and parental neglect. I know she's technicaly an adult (like Brit, et al) but the cards are stacked against these girls from the beginning. When you combine substance addiction with the symptoms of someone who was the victim of sexual abuse from a young age, you get exactly what we have here; A young person losing control of her life, in a downward spiral of self destruction. Let's have some compassion! Blame the "responsible adults" who weren't there to protect her or guide her when young people need them most. They're thrown into adult situations at a very young age, w/ no tools whatsoever. Just wanna stick up for the actual victims here!

ReplyDeleteThis is really tragic and ninoroux is spot on about institutionalized abuse. Amanda Bynes is so talente -- her movies are so funny and great, and get ripped off constantly. Sydney White is a classic in my house, and she's the funniest thing about Easy A. It's a real tragedy. I hope she gets some therapy, goes away for awhile (maybe to university?) and comes back strong. I'm definitely rooting for her.
