His John Travolta, Jerry Seinfeld, Kramer, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Fraiser, Gilbert Gottfried, Bob Cosby impersonations were pretty amateur but good enough for me to get the idea. I always had a crush on Jimmy Fallon. ;)
He killed it at the end with the musical impressions. His Alanis just made me laugh so hard that tears came out.
Kind of OT - if you didn't catch the live 30 Rock the other night, try to find it. It was awesome! Jon Hamm was so funny he made some of the cast crack up on camera. And Jimmy did a younger Alec Baldwin. Priceless! I love Tina Fey.
He strangely resembles Ben Affleck in this vid. He also doesn't look half as jumpy as he actually did once he joined the cast. People forget that before Bill Hader, Fallon was SNL's king of breaking character and laughing during sketches.
jimmy f was doing a ton of coke then and barely mitigating it now..watch for the nancy/divorce-rebab/coke explosion...buckle up fallon you are fat and it shows...your bloat = near trip to rehab...we see it...
He actually auditioned twice for SNL. He didn't make it the first time and then Lorne called him a year later for another audition. It makes sense he would be nervous.

ReplyDeleteOkay, sure, why not? I'll be the asshole that points out Fallon's "Wannabe Composer" should actually be "Wannabe Conductor"... :(

ReplyDeleteI always forget comedians do a lot of work perfecting their shows. Some of that was groan-worthy, but some of it was pure gold.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is a huge fan of The Cure. So we found that bit extra funny.
Dude isnt funny, always blowing lines, stammering, giggling, etc, cant stand his late night show either.

ReplyDeleteHe showed a bit of range which is more than I can say for Adam Sandler. He doe look nervous but who wouldn't be?
ReplyDeleteHis Adam Sandler was spot-on.
ReplyDeleteJimmy's funny. He's talented and cute, which doesn't hurt.
My favorite audition tape is Will F's, he does his cat impression. Most of the characters from his audition tape made it onto SNL.

ReplyDeleteI love him and his nervousness.
