Isabel Mercedes Celis Is Still Missing

Police in Tucson, Arizona are looking everywhere for Isabel Mercedes Celis who was supposedly seen last Friday night in her bedroom. At 8am on Saturday she was no longer in her room. The window to the room was open, but there were no signs of forced entry and nothing broken. Police did say that in a different part of the house there might have been something suspicious about an entry point but are not sure. I hate these kinds of cases because I hate to see anything happen to kids. I wish I could keep every kid safe. I also hate it because it always seems like the parents are involved somehow. One of them confesses or goes into hiding or does something and you wonder what could a six year old kid have done to make this happen.

  3. according to cable news "the window had been pushed open and the blind was pushed to the side."

  4. That's my biggest nightmare too. I always ALWAYS lock all my doors & the girls' windows at night. Poor little angel. :-(

  5. Prayers to the family. I hope the find her safe and sound.

This puts things in perspective. No more complaining today.

  6. This reminds me of the "Baby Lisa" case in Kansas City, MO. They are STILL looking for her. :( I hope they find this lil girl much more quickly and that she's ok.

  7. @notameangirl, I was wondering what had happened to baby Lisa. I haven't heard anything about that case in a long time.

And I agree with everyone saying this is their worst nightmare. I always make sure my windows and doors are locked, but I still get scared. My mom has sent me threatening messages that make me think she will one day try to kidnap my son, but the court didn't deem her threats "bad enough," so I can't get a restraining order. If only they knew her the way I do.
Anyway, I hope so hard this little girl is found alive and unharmed.

  8. i hope they find this little girl- safe and healthy...

i have issues with your last sentence- "wonder what could a six year old kid have done to make this happen."

i know blaming the victim is like par for course in our society, but she is SIX!! Jeesh! Nothing she could have done, could have made an abuser/abductor/mentally unstable parent harm her.

Its so tacky to insinuate (and I know its our society, not just this post)that a victim had some power over what a crazy/evil person did... What if she reads this at some point? i'm sure that final thought lingers and would stir up some serious eternal concerns.

now if it comes out she ran away or did something that could have instigated something terrible- can she be responsible for her actions? she's six. she's just learning how to read and tie her shoes. she's still so innocent and susceptible to her environment/learned behavior for those around her.
    ugh.
i hope she is returned home soon

  9. ^ good lord, it was an offhand comment to wrap up a tragic story, stop reading so much into wording.

do you REALLY think Enty was trying to blame a 6 year old??

  10. Seaward- What?! I'm sorry you have to go through that with your mom. I worry enough about strangers that I can't even imagine having to worry about a family member.

I have a very hard time reading stories like this. It really is every parent's worst nightmare. This poor little girl.

    2. I really hope her parents/family have nothing to do with it.

  13. This will not end well.

  14. @aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - I'm pretty sure the way that Enty said that, he is meaning that there is nothing a six-year-old could do to deserve that; he is being incredulous that a parent could think/feel that way, not blaming the child at all.

I'm surprised that's what you took out of this after the stuff about wanting to protect all kids.

  15. WHAT? A white kid is missing and on the news and we are getting follow ups on it?

The same day Leiby Kletzky disappeared in Brooklyn, 2 African American young teen sisters vanished from Connecticut. All the news said was that the girls disappeared. Never one follow up. Leiby's story was extremely horrible and unusual but count all the missing NON white kids you hear about.

    1. Sad, but tragically true, and I dont know why. Any missing child is a heartbreak.

  18. @katsm0711, this little girl is hispanic, not white and this is in Arizona. It's so well published because the media in Arizona takes these stories seriously. Most crime stories are picked up and highly published unlike other places.

Yeah I guess he was wrapping up the story but pretty awful way to phrase it.

  20. I don't have the feeling that the parents have anything to do with this particular case. I hope my instincts are right.

  22. This Isabel case smells of srranger abduction. Shes a beautiful girl, mb someone with twisted mind saw her at church, or dance, or school and became infatuated. I pray to god she is returned safely to her parents.
Now, this baby Lisa case- is that where the mother was bombed? I think she accidentally smothered the baby, panicked and dumped the body.

  23. Juicy - I'm not feeling a parental connection either. I'm thinking it's more like the Elizabeth Smart case. I hope this beautiful little girl is returned safe and sound to her family.

  26. This is scary as there are lots of sick people in the world and these stories don't usually end well.

  28. There is a recent story about a 2 year old who just vanished while playing with her mom & 4 year old sister sister on a beach in Rockport, MA last week. The mom went to get the ball they were playing with when it went over a fence and when she came back the 2 year old was gone.

It wasn't even a warm beach day that day so there wouldn't have been a lot of beach goers. Where could she have gone in such a short amount of time? Didn't the 4 year old notice anything? Here's the story:

  29. Poor beautiful doll. I hope they find her. I can't imagine any human harming a child, but then again, a postman maced my sister's Shih Tzu over the weekend - one of the sweetest, friendliest, most lovable dogs I've ever met, so it appears some humans are capable of any atrocity. I hope they find her alive and unharmed.

  30. @MadLyb - That is so awful! I hope the dog is okay :(

I agree, some humans are able to commit things that most of us can't conceive. Scary thing is that psychopaths enjoy putting fitting into society and acting "normal" - it's a scary world and I wish all the best for all the innocent little lives out there, humans included. ;P
