Happy Anniversary Will & Kate
One year ago today people were glued to their television sets all over the world. When I listen to this video I keep thinking it is Mike Myers narrating it and keep expecting jokes.

I don't know why this is such a big deal in the states. I think they're a cute couple, but I really don't give a shit about their wedding or anniversary.

ReplyDeleteI'm suprised she hasn't either produced or announced the heir yet.
ReplyDeleteWhen Charles and Di wed, Will was quick to arrive.
Seaward you seem very stabby today. *L*.
ReplyDeleteYeah, @seaward, what's wrong?
ReplyDeleteHey Em! I responded to you Daines query as well but my dadgum phone betrayed me. Welcome back from the farm.
DeleteI'm Scottish and don't see the big deal either. And I don't particularly want to hear about the production of their heir either, although after the Julibee and the Olympics are over THAT'S all we'll hear :/
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks for noticing, guys :P. Just tired, makes me a grump
ReplyDeleteBut I genuinely am curious why Americans care about this to the point they would get up at 4am to watch the wedding
DeleteSeaward... you're right. I mean, they're both lovely, but why are we making them celebrities in the states? Maybe because they're royalty we don't have to pay for... the idea of Americans obsessed with them makes me shudder a little, and it should make them question their image too!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm no feminist, but I'm still bothered with young women idolizing Kate. She's intelligent and dresses modestly, but other than that? Not a representation of what we should strive for.
*Confession: I've been following CDAN for a while, and now I feel obligated to post so I'm not a creep :) EmEyeKay and Sherry, you two have given me a good laugh a few times!

ReplyDeleteI never got baby obsession either. They all look the same! like babies!
ReplyDeleteThey look like they actually like each other. I doubt this will end in divorce.
ReplyDeleteAmericans like them because we don't pay for them like the British do. I personally find both of them boring. I wonder if they are having a marriage renewal ceremony marking their first year?
ReplyDeleteKate can't get pregnant during the jubilee and Olympics! Remember Di got married in an off year, so next year will be the baby news. It will be a 2013 baby.
0MG. Wrote a huge answer to why I love Wills and Kate and my phone flipped to the next page. I have a love hate relationship with technology but it's basically what Basil said. Plus I loved Diana. She and I were the age and I so wanted to be a princess at that age too. Her children also appeaared to be quite loved.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Beauty. Glad you decided to join us.
ReplyDeletei think women are so enthralled by her because it's the "fairy tale" .. how many women actually get to marry a Prince and be in a Royal Family?
ReplyDeletei'm not infatuated with them .. but i'd rather hear stories about THEM than Beyonce, Mariah, Lindsey, KKs ... etc.
and unlike Charles and Diana .. they are actually in love.
no, i did not get up to watch it on TV. :)
Happy Anniversary!
@Educated Beauty, love the moniker, and welcome! I lurked for a long time, myself, but it's much more fun to be part of the conversation. MOST of the time ;)
ReplyDelete@Sher, thanks much. Happy to be back but hard to leave my fam. Have not been good with the email lately, but I've got good news, promise to fill you in soon!
In the word of someone I really like, "squee!". Can't wait to hear about yer trip.
DeleteI'm a woman, American, and wouldn't mind if I never heard about the two of them again. Not a big fan of any royals, really, and the media coverage of the wedding just made me roll my eyes a lot. I'm sure it'll be the same when they start having kids.
ReplyDeleteI do hope they'll be happy, unlike poor Diana, but that's as much interest as I can muster up for them.
365 days ago, Pippa's ass stole Kate's thunder.
ReplyDeleteSeaward my dear, I love a wedding. That's why I got up to watch it. Thanks to the schedule, I got up about 10 minutes before she left the hotel, watched the ride, and watched her walk down the aisle. I then skipped to the end of the ceremony and watched the carriage ride. I thought it was fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better.
Why hasn't she produced a heir yet? Whats wrong with her uterus?
ReplyDeleteHey, they're a lot more interesting than any of the Kardassians, and they're on TV 24/7.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get up early to watch the festivities but I did tivo the entire event. ff is my friend and I did enjoy seeing everyone who attended.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why I was interested but I guess it has something to do with the fact I watch Diana make that walk many years earlier.
Hahaha, now I can't stop imagining it's Mike Myers! I didn't watch the wedding, it's just not my thing, but I get why people are fascinated with the whole royal fairy tale thing. Plus, Kate does seem like a pretty normal girl and they do seem genuinely happy together. So that's nice.
