Actress Kidnapped By Actors And Beheaded

Bollywood actress Meenakshi Thapar was on the set of her new movie when she got into a conversation with two other actors in the movie. Apparently Meenakshi started talking about how much money she had in her family, so the two men invited her on a trip and held for ransom. Her family paid a portion of the ransom, but not the entire amount so the two actors killed and beheaded the actress and made their way back to Mumbai before being arrested and confessing to the crime.

  10. They threatened to force her into porno films if the family didn't pay. They also dumped her body in separate places, I believe they threw her head from a moving vehicle. PIGS.

  11. Terrible - I am glad they found both of them and they can be held accountable. Sick people.

  14. I don't even know what to say. My boyfriend was a contractor over in Saudi Arabia and he told me of some of the things he saw. It made me nauseas.

  15. Unknown, that's one of the reasons I never taught English over there. You could make a TON of money, but, why?

  16. OMG!!!! THis is just plain old sick. It's amazing that 2 sick and twisted people found each other and agreed to commit such a horrific crime. Meenakshi was a beautiful girl. I don't understand what goes through people's minds.

  17. Seriously, WTF! That is awful! She was so beautiful. I can't even begin to image what she suffered before dying. Her poor family. We can only hope their punishment is as harsh and severe as what they did to her.

  18. Also, a good reminder not to disclose your financial status with anyone who does not have a need to know. My parents taught me that as a child- and we were a family of 10 on military pay- no money to speak of!

  23. Allahabad- Bollywood actress Meenakshi Thapar was allegedly kidnapped and beheaded by two struggling actors in attempt to extort €20,000 from her family. Meenakshi Thapar, 26, who had appeared in the Indian horror film 404 last year, met the two aspiring actors who allegedly later killed her on the set of her latest film, Heroine. Amit Jaiswal, 36, and his lover Preeti Surin, allegedly decided to kidnap Ms Thapar after listening to her boast about her family's wealth and status in Dehra Dun, in the Himalayan foothills of northern India. They allegedly invited her on a trip with them to Gorakhpur, a small town close to India's border with Nepal and known for its Buddhist temples, where they held her hostage and sent a message to Ms Thapar's Nepali parents demanding 1,500,000 Rupees (€20,000). According to police, her 'fellow actors' warned her mother they would force her daughter to take part in pornography films if their demands were not met. Her mother paid 60,000 Rupees (€886) into her daughter's account for her kidnappers to withdraw, but she was allegedly killed soon after. She was strangled to death, beheaded, and her body was dumped at two different sites as her killers made their way back to Mumbai. Her torso was dumped in a water tank and her head thrown out of the bus window in a bag on the road to Mumbai. Jaiswal and Surin were later caught in possession of Ms Thapar's mobile phone SIM and confessed to the murder. According to police, the couple had fled to Mumbai from their home in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, after Jaiswal's wife discovered their affair. They had moved to India's film city hoping to find stardom in its Bollywood studios. "We are still investigating the case and both the accused along with a police team are visiting the crime spot. We have yet to recover the body. "They wanted to extort money from her family. They have confessed to the crime. She was strangulated in a hotel and her body was hacked into pieces and thrown in a water tank. They threw her head from a moving bus while traveling back to Mumbai," a detective leading the inquiry said.

  24. This is so sick. It's a shame that this happened. Women are not seen as equals to men nor respected by them in certain parts of the world which makes me wonder if the men who murdered this woman will serve lengthy prison time or have any severe punishment at all. My thoughts are with Meenakshi's family.

    @CSH813

They'll probably serve more time for engaging in homosexual behavior than for kidnapping and killing a woman.

For some reason even before I google searched to read all of the details something told me that these two were lovers and lo and behold.

  27. I can't help but wonder if the water tank would provide drinking water or household water, how morbid.

  28. hunter OMG I was just going to say the same thing!!! swear.

  29. @Diana - I was given to understand that Preeti is a female.

    ReplyDelete
  30. so very sad!

I also think it is sad that the response is "she was so beautiful! how terrible!!" It makes it seem as if she was unattractive, people wouldn't think that what she experienced would have been such a horrible thing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Preeti is a female name in India. And let's not pretend that horric murders don't occur all over the world. As someone married to a man from India, I find the ethnocentricity offensive.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Preeti Surin is a female, the lover of Amit Jaiswal. Apparently Meenashki's boasting about her family's wealth was just that--her mom could reportedly only come up with 60,000 of the 1,500,000 rupee ransom demand and paid it, but her daughter was murdered anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  33. They not only savagely killed her and made her suffer, but they wanted to show major disrespect to her remains. Envy and greed will drive people to commit the most heinous crimes.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Damn. I feel so bad for her family :'(

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Diana, Preeti is a woman, and even if she wasn't, homosexuality is not illegal in India. @Julie, I agree. We as Americans wouldn't want to be known as racists as a whole because of the actions George Zimmerman took. Every country has people they are not proud of, and you can not make assumptions about people from a certain country. It is horrible how this woman died, and the murderers need to be punished, regardless of their race.

  37. Enty's post mentioned two men as the killers so I can see how Diana made the error but geez homophobic much.

Also agree with Lori that the horror of the deed not the girls attractiveness is the tragedy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @astrogirl: I don't think Diana's comments were intended as homophobic so much as to point out that in many countries, homosexuality is looked on with much more disfavor than the kidnapping and murder of a woman, especially in nations where the "honor killing" is still a way of life.

  39. My condolences to her family, this is truly sad and horrifying.

  40. It's disgusting what greed does to people. How dare they abuse someone's life like that.

  43. Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

    Mark 7:18-23
    King James Version (KJV)
     18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

That's why these guys did what they did because what is lying in dormant in everyone of us since the beginning of time can manifest given the opportunity but we have a hope that this not come from man but from God himself who sent his son to die on a cross and bearing witness of him himself meaning God in heaven showing himself many signs and wonders and still till this day showing himself to be alive and able to receive us if we come to him by humbling ourselves and opening our hearts. He can remove all those things (sin) out of our hearts for he paid the price on the cross dying for us once and raising up again on the third day once and not every year like some would have you to believe but is sitting right now at the right hand of power at the right hand of God as an advocate between God and man and the only advocate! You don't have to live life without hope for hr gives us hope in our hearts not the mind only. Like something that's nice along the shelf of other beliefs. No, he is real and lives! I testify to his saving grace that if those two actors would have realized their human condition and had there hearts had been given to God through Jesus. They would not have done so as they did. It's the human condition and God did not want to leave us in this condition and so he planned from the beginning to save his creation and that's why it clear to understand this saying Jesus said;  16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    John 3:16
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    John 14:6

  45. So now we know for certain: Tebow does read CDAN.

  46. It wasn't bad enough that they kidnapped and murdered her, but why the mutilation? So sad.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I agree Julie. Let's not blame this on India. Scott Peterson did the same thing to his wife, who was 9 months pregnant with their son. WTF, California, United States, North America, Planet Earth.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I don't think it's homophobia to have thought that the two killers were gay. I, for instance, am an evil gay person and I read the Daily Mail story after this one, and two stories in the Indian press, thinking all the while that it was two men. "Lovers" is an odd word, you know, with all kinds of cryptic gay suggestion behind it (my straight friends rarely "take lovers," after all). And "two actors" technically could refer to two women, a woman and a man, or two men -- but usually we say actor and actress, no? Anyway, I never call something homophobia unless it involves a strong revulsion for and battling against homosexuality.

  49. OMG that is so messed up! Wow.

  50. Bloody hell- I thought you were joking :( Terrible

  54. B. Profane- fucking awesome regarding the Tebow comment, seriously genius.

Lori- I TOTALLY agree! I was reading down the comments and one after the other seemed to read first and foremost what a tragedy to such a BEAUTIFUl woman; looks seem to often factor into warranting sympathy IMO.(age too, but that's slightly off topic.)

  55. And all for just a little bit of money.
A tragedy. Pure tragedy. I'm so sad to hear this.
I know things like this happen every day, in every cointry, but it is awful.

  56. @astrogirl, that totally makes sense. I'm always unsure about the tone of people's posts, and I've misread neutral things negatively. On the flip side, my insults have been read as helpful before! The interwebz! As for the post, I just can't believe that someone named after Wonder Woman would be anti-gay. I mean, Wonder Woman is like Dorothy, almost. But you never know.
