50 Cent Proposed To His Girlfriend - Maybe

Last night, 50 Cent's girlfriend, Daphne Joy took to her Twitter and told the world she is now engaged top 50 Cent. She also started Tweeting about being a wife so you assume that 50 asked her and gave her a big ring and all that, but it turns out he did not give her a ring yet. At this point he might never give her a ring. Does it count when you are asking someone to marry you and you don't have a ring? For all we know he could have been joking or drunk or they were having an argument about whether to watch Mad Men or play video games and he asked her to marry him so he could get away with watching what he wanted.

  1. I would assume it is a lame April Fool's joke.

  2. Isn't it rumored that 50 is gay or has Ted C. brainwashed me into thinking everyone is gay?

  3. I can't think of him w/o thinking of Ted C's blind about him anymore. :(

  4. Somewhere, Chelsea Handler is making a new voodoo doll to add to her collection.

  5. What did Ted C say about him? How did I miss that one???

  6. Why does the ring matter? I think by the time you ask someone to marry you, the commitment is in your heart already. The ring, wedding, etc is superfluous.

~Signed, Ms. Cool (who did get a sweet sapphire ring that didn't look like the typical engagement ring and people were judgmental but Ms. Cool didn't care because she got the awesome husband)

  9. Interpretation: she wants to get married a lot more than he does.

  10. I'm sure she loves him for himself and not his bank. *eye roll*

  11. Good for you, Ms. Cool I know someone who got a gold band with a teeny ruby and two diamonds and it fit her perfectly.

The Future Mrs. Fiddy is much more attractive than the Mister.

  12. He's notoriously cheap, and manipulative in general; if I were this girl I wouldn't believe it until the marriage license is *signed.*

  13. He's cheap, obnoxious, tweets stupid ass shit, and is allegedly gay/on the down low. What a catch.

Run, Daphne, run. Get away while the gettin's good.

  14. Well, at least get a ring with an investment-quality stone (watch: he'll buy some junk from Jacob the Jeweler or something) and a written agreement that she keeps it if/when the engagement is broken.

  15. @Ms Cool

I love engagement rings that are atypical. I mean, how many times can you see a diamond solitare and still be struck by it?

  16. @Sue Ellen - I know! Mine definitely looks like a sweet cocktail ring. When I told one person I was engaged she picked up my hand, looked at the ring and actually threw my hand down. OMG. Guess what - that was 12 years ago and she is still single.

  17. Well, I would love to see it. Maybe Ent should have a post your engagement ring "Your Turn".

And I have to add, now that I've thought about it, the only diamond solitares I stop in my tracks for are the really obscene ones. Like 3 carat plus.

  18. @MsCool...My friend also got a blue sapphire ring and I think it's gorg! Nice to see something out of the ordinary. Somehow I think you got a better husband though. Not that my friends husband isn't nice, they're not all that compatible in the long run.

This girl is stunning. Cannot imagine what Fiddy has to offer her except loads of money. I shouldn't say that. He might be a nice guy for all we know.

  19. 50 cent has some serious issues given his crazy twitter account. He comes off as a misogynist and homophobe. No one needs a ring to be engaged, but hell to the no.

Ms.Cool, my hubs bought me a ring that was perfect for me and what he could afford. At the time, I had several people tell me that I could always upgrade. Crazy people I tell you! And let me tell you my ring is beautiful and was not cheap! AND I actually wanted a sapphire ring, but didn't have the heart to tell him. Different strokes for different folks.

Oh and as a side note, I did just get sapphire earrings for our 3 year anniversary (prolly cause he didn't go into debt for my ring)

  21. Isnt he also known for giving the "gift" that keeps on giving?

  22. "Isn't it rumored that 50 is gay or has Ted C. brainwashed me into thinking everyone is gay?"

LOL, Ivy - you could say that about every single person in Hollywood!

  23. Not that this has anything to do with 50c, but the thread moved in this direction: People who go into debt for the ring and for the big wedding are setting themselves up for a marriage that's a lot more difficult and tense than it should be. Unnecessary debt is a huge stress on daily life.

  24. Also I don't think announcing an April 1 "proposal" is coincidental.
