Two Year Old Boy Found High On Heroin
A mom and her boyfriend are in jail after police pulled over the mom's car the other night. Cami Bena of Everett, Washington was pulled over and her boyfriend arrested for warrants. When they were searching the car they found a needle filled with heroin in Cami's purse. So, they arrested her for possession and for having drugs around her kid. Then, police discovered that Cami was truly trying to make mother of the year and had been smoking heroin the car and that her two year old was high on heroin from the fumes. Cami told police that the boy could handle it and she had been doing it for a long time around him and he had tolerance. Huh? Seriously? WTF is wrong with people?
You think it can't get worse? Oh wait, there is more. So, when the baby was 6 months old, there was an incident. The mom got into a car accident with the baby. She was high on PCP and pot and her son was intoxicated at that time. So, tell me how this mom managed to keep the baby for the past 18 months. What exactly does CPS do anyway? Don't you think they should have taken him then?
Well from what I know after meeting a pair of (good) foster parents in my town at a restaurant, CPS will only place the kids in foster care for a certain period of time. Then it's back to the original situation, even if they thrived in the foster house. Even on weekends if there is sexual abuse in the original house, sometimes it's only foster parents on the weekdays and one weekend day, then original parents on the other weekend day. It's Messed Up.
ReplyDeleteYou will probably never catch me saying this again but what a bitch. I hope she never sees her son again and her never has to see her again either. Geezus.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect reason for birth control......this woman should not be allowed to reproduce.
ReplyDeleteStupid and dangerous.
*he
ReplyDeleteThere are some really horrible and evil people in this world.
ReplyDeleteCPS doesn't take people away or return them home...the courts do. CPS files motions to have children removed from dangerous situations, but it doesn't always happen. Children are sent back home all the time against CPS recommendations even when their parents are still using or haven't done treatment.

Smells like Termination of Parental Rights
ReplyDeleteShaking my damn head....2 years old.
ReplyDeleteEverett, Wa. The town where I was out to eat, and was surrounded by small children pointing at me chanting black man black man black man. There must have been 5 to 6 of them. I wondered where are these children's parents at? Why am I not surprised babies are required to build up a tolerance for heroin. They use a lot of ICE and shards there too.
ReplyDeleteGood 'ol Everett. Are we sure it wasn't Marysville?
ReplyDeleteAgreed Dixie - she's a totally selfish See You Next Tuesday. They should have a TV show where we're allowed to go on there and completely shame her for being such a complete moron. And then make her watch it 10 times a day until she gets out of jail.
Some people disgust me. Do want you want in your own pathetic, wretched, pointless lives but when you bring innocent children into it it's unexcusable! Lock her and her boyfriend up and throw away the key.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the courts and some bleeding heart out there will focus on the fact that she has an addiction and use this as an excuse. Yes, drug addiction is a terrible disease that requires treatment and care. However, when you fail to seek that treatment and inflict your problems onto your 2 year old, in my opinion you deserve to be treated like exactly what you are, garbage!
I dunno. I can classify as bleeding heart sometimes, but once you abuse or endanger a child or animal, all bets are off. That child should be placed with people who will love nurture and protect it.... And never see its sh*t for birth parents again.
DeleteI lived in Washington state for most of my life, the company I worked for was in South Everett.
ReplyDeleteEverett was at one time huge in
the lumber industry, processing for paper products and such. Fishing was also a big industry. It has seen better days. I never went past where I worked. That being said, Western WA. on the whole is extremely racially tolerant in my experience.
This woman should be in jail, and she should never have the joy of being in a child's life again.
What, no meth?
ReplyDeleteWhat, no meth?
ReplyDeleteThis woman looks like she could be a Lohan....physically AND mentally. Anyone else seeing the resemblance?
ReplyDeleteOk, I didn't know that smoking heroin gave off fumes so I know very little about drugs, but it's obvious that there should not be a child in her care.
ReplyDeleteThis woman and her bf should be hung. Putting a child in danger that way...there is no fucking excuse.
ReplyDeleteCPS in Washington state is bad, we all know it, and heroin is EVERYWHERE, even in my teeny tiny coastal town. I truly love this state, and I love living here, but this kind of stuff goes down all the time. Trust me, I work for a school district, it's bad.
ReplyDeleteLady, you are a fucking bitch. You do not deserve to have a child, you need to be rendered infertile if you can't stay off the drugs. Yeah, I sound harsh but this kind of thing really upsets me, I guess because I'm a mom and take raising my kidlets pretty seriously.
ReplyDeleteThey need to remove that precious little soul from her permanently and tie her tubes while they are at! Sick, pathetic excuse for a parent.
ReplyDeleteBesides all the obvious ways in this is wrong, is the fact that this child, if he is "used to it" is that he's probably going through heroin withdrawal. :-(
ReplyDeleteBesides all the obvious ways in this is wrong, is the fact that this child, if he is "used to it" is that he's probably going through heroin withdrawal. :-(
ReplyDeleteExactly, Denise. If that poor baby has a tolerance, he's gonna be very sick and I hope he is in the care of someone who can properly handle his health needs. He's gonna need to medically weaned off, if its really bad. Very Sad.
ReplyDeleteand yet, gay couples can't adopt children in most states.
ReplyDeleteI work in foster care and we always get the negative thrown at us. It is not an easy job! As a agency we have to present our recommendations to the courts. It is the courts power to either send a child back or keep custody. We get just as pissed off as u do when shit like this happens.
ReplyDelete@Spike Ghost...it is a shame too. A lot of kids are missing out on some loving homes because of this. Hopefully this will change.
ReplyDeleteLive in the Pacific Northwest and during my stint as an apartment manager, I had to call CPS a lot.
ReplyDeleteKids being surrounded by drug addict parents, witnessing drug deals, being left unattended and neglected. The work was heart-breaking but the worst part of it was when I was told by a work, over the phone and "off the record" that they are so underfunded that they are more "reactionary as opposed to proactive". My heart sunk and I soon got out of that line of work.
This place is an experience.
Reading the celeb gossip is sometimes a welcome break to the horrors that I experience and observe here in the PNW. Saving up to move soon.
That lady is the worst. Her child shouldn't HAVE to build a "tolerance" to the fumes. I hope she gets help.
ReplyDeleteshe is a fucking asshole piece of shit
ReplyDeleteThe most amazing thing to me is that the mother thinks this is ok!!!!! What the hell world does she live in???!!!! Take the kid away for godsakes!!
ReplyDelete6mos. old and intoxicated??? WTF! She fed the baby alcohol??? Now the baby has a tolerance for drug fumes??
ReplyDeleteI swear I could NEVER be a cop because I'd have slapped the hell out of this bitch.
Fuckers...
ReplyDeleteEverett can be an extremely skanky place. I went there a few times before rehab when I was in the Seattle area, and I remember sprawling acres of apartment buildings with beat-up cars in the parking lot. Huge apartment complexes of thirty or forty buildings, and half the cars were on blocks outside. Apparently there are two or three nice streets in Everett, but generally it's, well. Well, look at her picture!
ReplyDeleteCPS just can't win. They get blamed for stuff like this, but if they remove children from dangerous environments, they get accused of "stealing children." Yes, they make mistakes, but most of the situations they're dealing with, there is no chance for a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mooshki!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a crock of crap. You don't smoke so much heroin that it fills a car with fumes. This isn't like Cheech and Chong smoking a 2 oz spliff. The kid inhaled a minute, probably harmless, amount from the fumes so they're going to exaggerate it to make a big war on drugs friendly news story.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Big Bambu, before you go back to your smack, please hand over your children to a responsible adult and never go back again
ReplyDeleteThis story is so sad. I've considered becoming a foster parent, but it seems the system works against the kids. I would hate having a kid removed if they were doing well with me, but were removed regardless to follow a system protocol.
ReplyDeleteThese stories make me very sad.
ReplyDeleteRemember Josh Powell, or Better yet his BEAUTIFUL children, thank you CPS Washington.
ReplyDeleteYes...and people like this are procreating. It's people like this that I wish weren't able to have children.
ReplyDeleteCripes, that poor little kid. He's got an uphill battle facing him in this life.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I wonder how bad his mother's parents might be. They obviously didn't do a stellar job of raising her.

ReplyDeleteI hope your comment about Marysville wasn't to imply it must have been a Native American. Bigots are not attractive anywhere. If that is not what you meant I apologize although I don't see what you meant then.
Everett is like everywhere, some really nice (waterfront too) areas and some slum areas.
I live a little south of Everett
Marysville is just a shithole. As is Everett. As are a lot of the towns in Western Washington. Things just start to get real weird and terrible outside of cities up in the PNW. And this is coming from someone born and raised in Mountlake Terrace. I know a thing or two about shitty Western Washington towns.
