Surprise Witness In Nicollette Sheridan Case

There is a guy who supposedly called Nicollette Sheridan's legal team on Sunday and said he had some e-mails which show that ABC is lying and trying to coverup the timeline of when Nicollette was scheduled to be killed off in the show. The judge in the case ordered the man to appear in court on Tuesday. The guy said he did not want to get involved, but who calls the attorney for the other side, says they have damaging information and then says, "but, I am not interested in getting involved." Of course he is. If he did not want to get involved he would have stayed quiet. After he takes the stand, the closing arguments will begin and the jury can decide if they like ABC or Nicollette more. That is what it comes down to.

  2. Enty, why haven't you been covering this trial from the beginning? Please keep us posted.

  3. If they 'the machine' are accountable then all props to Nicollette for standing up to them!

  4. Oooh, juicy! He's appearing in court today, or next Tuesday? I hope it's something good, and this isn't just a tease.

  5. He admits hitting her, he just changed what was meant by it and the amount of force used. Pay up ABC.

  6. I hope she takes them to the cleaners.

  7. Quite frankly NS legal team must be desperate. If you have solid evidence you don't spring some unknown witness with unknown evidence on the trial. They may be a wacko and the evidence may be non-existant or not support your case. In either event you and your case lose credibility. They fact that they are going to this extreme implies their case isn't going well. Yes there was some form of physical interaction of a he said (i.e. showing how to react in scene) and she said (i.e. he hit me without provacation) variety. However you don't collect millions of dollars for a hit. You collect it for showing they fired you when you complained. In that regard NS is losing big time because all the writers, producers and network evecutives are testifying that plans were in place to kill her character before this incident. Hence her lawyers Hail Mary Pass with an unknown witness.

  8. @ Daveb - you make very good points, but I wouldn't put it past ABC to force the writers, directors and producers to perjure themselves on the stand. I don't have any skin in this game, but I guess in the end I'm on Team NS (I like underdogs.)

  9. This "low level" person may have just thought they could provide this email and be done with it, not realizing that they would have to testify in addition. I could see someone wanting to help her out but yet being afraid of fucking themselves over in the business by testifying for her.
I hope she wins this case. She was made out to be a harpy this whole time but she got screwed and made to look like a fool. You know this shit goes on all the time and it's hard as hell to prove. (*not specifically getting hit but complaining about bullshit treatment and getting fired for it.)

  10. @BlahFrickin: completely agree with everything you said. I hope Nicolette wins.

  11. Okay...I almost never comment but I have to say Enty that I was someone who called the defense in a trial to tell them something I knew and I didn't want to get involved with that trial either (OJ) and thought I could just tell them what I knew and they'd look into it and I'd go along my merry way. Well, I was given a choice to either testify willingly or the would subpoena me. So as naive as it may all sound, I do get what this person was thinking. I thought the same way.

  13. the defense may not have any choice; once they are told, they need to investigate. Not to do so could be malpractice. Also, the jury will not hear the witness and his/her evidence until the judge has evaluated it. If the judge (or the defense) decide it is not credible, etc., they can choose not to allow/call the witness. The "hail mary pass" characterization implies the defense attorneys knew of this approach before hand and are now lying when they describe it as unsolicited and having come within the past few days--which is more than a "hail mary pass" in a high profile trial, it is professional suicide.

  14. I'm Team Nicollette. I believe that they killed off James Denton's character in the last episode just to make up some shit for this trial. 'Cause his death was part of a plot line that was absurd even for this show.

    Hoping you get paid, Nicollette.

  15. I hope Nicollete wins too. Mark Cherry never liked Nicole from the beginning. Her character was originally only meant to be supporting, but the fans loved her and wanted more, and as a result SHE wanted more. More screen time, more money etc, which she had every right to ask for. Cherry has tried to write Nicollette out of the show many times, but for some reason she keeps coming back....up until this incident.

It's interesting to note that after Edie's character was gone, the ratings dropped enough to cancel the show. I know I stopped watching.

  16. Definitely Team Nicole - I hope she gets PAID. She was treated horribly, and Marc Cherry is an assh*t. The ABC supported him, because he was a the money maker, and women are disposible goods in their minds. I wish this would send a message to execs and studios to play fairly, but, it won't. Still, I hope Nicole gets PAID. Firing someone who complained because you bitchslapped her? F*ck you, Marc Cherry. Keep your hands to yourself.

  17. p.s. I also agree with above posters who commented about the witness thinking they could do the right thing by just anonymously giving an email and stay out of it, because their career will probably get wrecked by ABC. But, that's not how it works - the email needs to be authenticated, and that person will have to testify, willingly or not.

I don't have a dog in the hunt because I never watched DH BUT, I hope Nicollette Sheridan wins everything she's asking and more. Employers do NOT have the right to put their hands on their employees in ANY way. NONE. This idiot said he just "tapped" her. How humiliating! "Tapping" a grown woman on set to get her to "behave". She's not even asking for much so she better win this.

  19. NEWS FLASH: The judge just threw out the battery claim against Mark Cherry, meaning, as TMZ puts it, he's "off the hook." The wrongful termination claim moves forward, but it doesn't look good. The Combine wins again.
