National Enquirer Blind Item
WHICH hip-hop mogul likes to give his plus-size mom and aunt his exclusive American Express Black Card to go on carte blanche spending sprees in New York City?
The only problem is that the hefty ladies hit up swanky boutiques that never carry clothes in their sizes
Jay Z. Lane Bryant is getting hella expensive so they shouldn't have trouble there.
ReplyDeleteThat's just stoopid. Why is this a blind?
ReplyDeleteIt's nice he's hooking up his family, but I just kind of feel sad for them now. There's only so many shoes, bags, & scarves you can buy. Hopefully they find some good clothes somewhere. With that money, they should be able to have some made for them.
ReplyDeleteCan't the House of Dereon make them some gaudy attire for free?
ReplyDeleteoh, the SCANDAL!
ReplyDeleteIt's time for a smart designer to create a high end plus size line. It would sell like crazy and do more to change perceptions of body image than nearly anything else.
ReplyDeleteI have this problem. I'm a size 14, and work above a high end mall. I pass the Karen Millen shop window every morning and lust after the dresses, but they only carry up to size 12. Same with tori burch (though her clothes are ugly mostly so I don't feel the same sadness).
These designers must be missing out on a lot of money by limiting their sizes
Top guess for this one was P. Diddy
ReplyDeleteAnd hey - I feel sorry for these women too - we can be all snarky all day but the truth is that this reality sucks for them.
Crazy broads!!!!
ReplyDeleteBless his heart, whoever he is. And ladies - there are plenty of good and/or funky plus sized clothes on line - just check!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. I feel like there's a lot of nattering about the misogyny in hip-hop and not much media about sweet things like this. You keep taking good care of your mama, mister!
ReplyDeleteThere are tons of expensive plus size clothes out there. Anna Scholz, Marina Rinaldi, etc.
ReplyDeleteTotally Diddy. Janice Combs is very blingy and tries to dress too young for her age. I'm sure she could find nice clothes in her size but those aren't the clothes she wants.
ReplyDeleteTimothy Olyphant
ReplyDeleteKeith Urban
Alex O'Loughlin
Jeffrey Donovan
what does rus sims mom look like?
ReplyDeleteI agree Seachica. While I am an 8 on the bottom I am so busty I often need a 14 on the top that covers the girls and it would be nice to have something classy.
ReplyDeleteKrab - sounds great, but both of those designers you named don't have retail outlets anywhere near Seattle (the latter just in LA and NYC in the US). :(
ReplyDelete@Krab, thanks for that, I will look them up on line.
ReplyDelete@Seachica, I have bought lovely clothes from an on-line store called Kiyonna. Great quality and they have always gotten to me even though I am ordering from Australia and they come from the US.
I am finding post-hysterectomy that I am still swollen and bloated and it is almost 4 months later. I think it takes a lot longer to recover properly than I realised. It also sucks that you swell whenever you do anything, so I go to the gym and end up bigger because I am swollen. My fitness level is getting back to what it was before the op, still not there yet, but hopefully it will keep improving. If anyone knows of other plus size outlets, I would love to know about them.
OT, propertyporner blog - AWESOME! One of the free plugs from yesterday, spent a lot of time fantasising about my filthy rich existence in the houses featured.
It's weird how celebrities are disappearing physically, but regular society is getting bigger. I noticed how the fashion police are always mentioning how Melissa McCarthy has to have her dresses custom made.
ReplyDeleteThis blind is pretty cool.
pegd I don't get why those four actors are mentioned? Maybe I missed something?
ReplyDeleteand my 2 cents...Kiyonna, Igigi, Simply Be, New Look, Carmakoma, Anna Scholz, Style 369, Evans...Asos curve (my fav). Macys, Nordstroms, Lane Bryant to name a few. OLd Navy, but they are hit and miss. and while all the offerings are online, most have free return shipping..geesh, sorry, I sound like a poster child for these stores. I am very passionate about having awesome clothing for plus size women, since I am one myself.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think PDiddy's mom was plus size, so I go with Jay z on this.
dont forget Torrid...
ReplyDeleteSeachica - I hear ya, girl. Thanks for the info, Angie! Will check out ASOS.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with Diddy. The last pics I saw of his his mother she was heavy and she was wearing a blonde weave/wig.
ReplyDeleteSomething everyone should check out is eShakti online--they make clothes (esp. pretty dresses) in sizes 0-26 AND for a few dollars more, you can get them to make it custom sized for your actual measurements and/or tweak the design slightly, plus the prices are quite reasonable. (Well, unless you're brokeass like me right now--I just shelled out $$$ for my elderly kittycat Jezebel, but she's worth it!) Also, if you're into the Indian import/hippie chic/"I really wanted to look like Stevie Nicks when I was younger" look, check out Holy Clothing, also online--I don't remember their top size, but it's at least a 3X-5X in most items. (Be careful w/the black clothes, though; the dye isn't as fast as it ought to be...)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Holy Clothing. I bought a dress there for my daughter's wedding. Absolutely gorgeous (the dress; me - not so much, but I did feel pretty in it). Very reasonable prices, too.
ReplyDeleteSorry, we only carry sizes 1, 3, and 5. You could try Sears.
