No matter how many times Simon Cowell whispers into a reporter's ear that he is thinking of Britney Spears or LeAnn Rimes or now Fergie as a judge on X Factor, remember one thing. It is Simon's show and he wants to be the biggest star. He wants ratings, but not at the expense of the spotlight on him. In England, Cheryl Cole was a bigger star. Buh Bye. So, yesterday when I heard Fergie was the latest to be considered it seems like part of a plan to create a buzz and what will probably end up being is Simon, LA Reid and someone who you know, but is not a destination judge. Someone like Carnie Wilson who I wrote about earlier today or someone from The Bangles or someone from TLC. Think a Dancing With The Stars contestant list and that is the pool I think the judge will ultimately come from.

ReplyDeleteLeann was never a contender for the opening. She wants to be and has aggressively been planting stories that she's being considered. But he's not going to hire her. No way/no how.
ReplyDeleteWhat's even funnier is one of the stories she planted in gossip blogs listed that she had a personal call from a producer of X-Factor to come in and talk to them. But she gave the WRONG name! She listed the producer of American Idol!! Once everyone started tweeting her laughing at how stupid she is-she had them take the name out of the stories. It appeared in Daily Mail, Just Jared and Celebrity Cafe. *snicker*

ReplyDelete@EmEyeKay I've only heard rumors about it too. But that is very strange. Drugs are hard on the body-but so is alcohol and cheating husbands. That or she lied about her age? Who knows-but I'm shocked at her neck situation.
ReplyDeleteI read an interview years ago where Fergie herself talked about her drug use and how she hid from her family for about a year. She cleaned up her act and THEN got the call for BEP's. She was in her early 20's and was singing but needed a break.

That is most definitely not a flattering pic of Fergie. She doesn't look like that on a normal basis. I have my bad pic moments too. Either way, this pic is far more flattering than the one when she was onstage when she pee'd in her pants trying to belt out the song.

ReplyDeleteI hope this is just a bad angle, poor pic kind of thing. I like how Fergie looks, she has a strong face, the cheek bones, the arched brow, the dimple in her chin. Not so much now with the grey roots, jowls, and the beginning of turkey neck.

I do not believe for one second that Fergie is younger than me (said the still jowl-free woman). And if she is, she should absolutely be the poster child for the Meth Is Bad, M'kay? campaign.
ReplyDeleteI have friends that are in their 20's (!) who partied hard with booze and meth for a handful of years in their teens/early 20s and now look much older than what they are. So I am assumed by the time you're on the wrong side of your 30s, well, shit be catching up to you!
ReplyDeleteFor real, I am 29 and people I went to high school with who smoke and drink (even just socially on the weekends) are starting to reap those vices in their face. It's insane how quickly shit can catch up to you.
People have told me I look young for my age and the first thing I always say is- I dont drink/do drugs/smoke/or tan. And that's pretty much it. Being boring gives you a younger face, I guess. HAHAHA

ReplyDeleteI'll co-sign that, Jasmine. I have red hair and super-white skin, so I don't go out in the sun. I never smoked, only have a couple of social drinks a month, and never did drugs (except X a few times in clubs - hey, it was the 80's). I've never gone to bed wearing makeup and moisturize like nobody's business. I don't have any wrinkles or lines and feel comfortable enough with my natural face to go to work most days without any makeup beyond lipstick and eyeliner. Plus, I live in an area with really high humidity, so that helps hold the wrinkles at bay. I did start going grey at 16, but I stay on top of coloring my hair so that doesn't age me. I regularly get carded when ordering a glass of wine. I'm 42. Being boring has its rewards.
