Gene Simmons & Tommy Lee Are Team Beyonce - Slam Rihanna
Apparently there is a new feud brewing and you have to choose sides. With Katy Perry trashing Beyonce while praising her best friend, Rihanna, Beyonce now has supporters. Namely Gene Simmons. Gene is hitting the road and presumably will be acting like a rock star with women despite his recent wedding. While promoting the tour, Gene called Rihanna fake and said that Rihanna is bulls**t and that all she does is dance and use a backing track. KISS is touring with Motley Crue, who if Vince Neil had any mercy on the crowds would use backing track also had their say. Tommy Lee says that Rihanna is pathetic and also called her fake. Umm, you were married to Pamela Anderson. Does she have anything real on her?

ReplyDeleteNO WAY does KISS not use some tracks at least here and there. Very, VERY few music acts play 100% live anymore. Same does for Motley Crue, I bet they play over a track on every song. If the drummer is wearing ear buds, they are playing over a track and the drummer is keeping time to a click.

ReplyDeleteI used to like watching Gene Simmons' "reality" show now and then (mostly because his son Nick is so cute and funny) but it was soooooo scripted and contrived. Like running out of gas in the desert outside Vegas before a show. Oh no! What will Gene do!? How about jump in the camera man's car?
Agreed, Simmons Family Jewels is so obviously scripted. How can you tell? Because of the stupid scenarios and the fact no one can act.

I actually met Gene Simmons YEARS ago along with Paul Stanley when I was temping at a record company. Paul was an asshat but Gene was pretty darn nice.

I don't think Nikki Sixx took himself seriously as a songwriter - I read Heroin Diaries and it seemed that people didn't realize he was the backbone of Motley Crue - as fucked up as she was...

ReplyDelete@Amy, no, he bitched and moaned in that because no one (not the band but the industry, Rolling Stone, etc.) took him seriously as a songwriter. My husband and I both read it and had the biggest laugh at that. I liked Motley Crue back in the day and will not turn them if they come on the radio but stellar lyrics are not something they're known for.
