BuzzFoto Blind Item

This B list film and television actress is always bragging about being a mother to the press, but she might not be so good at it out of the spotlight. She’s forgotten to pick up her child from school on more than one occasion and last week the child called her grandmother saying she was home alone and hungry. The child is under ten.

  1. So, the grandmother is telling this story. Because, how else would anyone know?

  2. or someone who works for the grandmother...

  3. What is wrong with the mother not to remember she has a kid to pick up.

  4. What is wrong with people in general?

  5. I would say Courtney Cox, but I don't think the "always bragging about being a mother to the press" fits.

  6. @Sylvia: my mum forgot me at school several times also and i can't say she wasn't a good mum

  7. Debra Messing is my only guess.

  8. Poor child.

I hope the grandmother told the mother a few home truths.

  9. There is a woman who used to forget her child often at elementary school. High stress job in addition to being a bit "ditzy", and recently divorced equalled a crying kid waiting for mom in the office. Poor thing. I really like the lady, though.

  10. Kathryn Heigl! Hypocrit if it's her. Why adopt a child if you don't want it. Oh wait, press for you sh$t movies.

  11. Child must be between 6-9, sounds like only one child.

I used to have nightmares that I forgot mine. Never happened IRL.

  12. Oh. Your Right Emeye! She is just a toddler.

  13. Kate Beckinsale? How old is her kid?

    ReplyDelete
  14. @ Big Mama, she's 13. And Kate B. has been all movie for the last 15 years.

  15. I hope it's not Kathryn Heigl. :(

  16. EmEyeKay - yes I used to have that dream all the time too!

  17. My husband has forgotten to pick the kids up from school on numerous occassions. But in his defense, they typically take the bus and these were times when we had no bus service because of a half day or because the public schools were off and our private school uses those busses. But that, in and of itself, doesn't make him a bad parent-perhaps inconsiderate of the school staff, but they were in a safe place.

I have left my kids home at about the age of 9 or 10 for very short periods of time during the middle of the day. Obviously, they knew how to use a phone and not to answer the door and had neighbors to run to in an emergency. But again-VERY short periods of time.

Now if the child is about 9 or so, she sounds like a bit of a drama queen-I am sure she can fix herself a sandwich. We don't know enough information about the story and we don't know if the grandmother is mom's mother, mother-in-law or what, so I would take the story with a grain of salt.

That said, if the child were much younger than 9 or if this was a night, or an extended period of time or there was no food in the house, then OK-that's wrong. But a 9 year old home alone in a likely security enforced home of a rich celebrity with access to the phone to call grandma doesn't sound overly off to me.

  18. Ok, I have to admit, my kiddo ended up walking back to school once in kindergarten because I wasn't home. Now, in my defense, we live right across the street from the school and it was a Friday so they have a different schedule than the rest of the week. I was running errands and glanced at my watch, thinking I had another hour to finish when I got the call from school. Yes, I felt like a giant piece of crap...

  20. I think this BV is bull cucky doo. Most of the Buzzfoto's are. Besides, most, if not all, actresses have nannies to do this stuff. This would imply that the mother is the only one responsible for taking care of the child without help...don't buy it for a minute.

  22. I have never forgotten my children ever, and I bet most moms havent. Jeesh, this child sounds sad.

  23. What about Jennifer Garner or Katie Holmes?

    ReplyDelete
  24. maybe she has a new man in her life

  25. Messing's child is a boy. The item says "the child called her grandmother."

  26. I'm assuming she's a single mother, and that her child is old enough to attend school. Sounds like the kid made it home somehow. I also got that the child was a girl...

    Is Michelle Williams B list?

  27. Bragging about being a mom sounds more like GOOP to me.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Katherine Wright: Goop is who I thought of, too.
Would she be B-list, though? I think she is probably A-list for life just because of her name and family, but maybe that part is skewed to throw people off.
Halle is another good guess, mingreader!
I definitely think it's one of these two.

  29. Kate Hudson. Grandmother is Goldie Hawn.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Kate Hudson's child is a boy, so it doesn't fit.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sad, because she really seemed to adore her adopted kid, but I think this might be Katherine Heigl.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Actually, the blind could refer to the grandmother of the actress, I guess. Even so, I don't believe Kate could be considered a film *and* television actress.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @EmEyeKay - the kid isn't necessarily between six and nine. I've heard many people refer to kindergarten as 'school'. Heigl's child is, what, four? That's old enough for kindergarten, right?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't think that we can assume that this Katherine Heigl. Her daughter was born in late 2008, which puts her at 3 years old. Unless they are considering daycare to be a school, it doesn't fit. Also, three seems very very young to be able to call someone and say that she is alone and hungry.

That said, I am still thinking of a guess as to who this could be.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Heigl has a husband under the same roof so he's as much to blame as she is if she's one.

    ReplyDelete
  36. halle berry and or michelle williams. Whomever guessed those two, I concur and great guesses

  37. I have never forgotten one of my children from school (yet - I still have a 4 yr old so there is time) but I did pick up my oldest daughter early from her 2nd grade field day (outdoor end of the year games day) just so I could see the Scott Peterson jury decision live on tv. She has never let me forget it - not Mom of the Year that year.

  38. my mom forgot to pick me up many times and she is a good mom.

  39. When I worked at a day care, we had a couple of kids that were almost always picked up late. It seemed the parents & older sibling couldn't remember who was supposed to pick them up on any given day. I still feel sorry for them & it has been 15 years.

  40. In grade school, we walked to/from school. Many times we got home to a locked house because my mom had gone somewhere and forgot to be home in time for us. In junior high and high school, many times she didn't realize that she was supposed to pick one of us up and didn't notice that we weren't ALL home yet (like if one of us had to stay late to make up a test or have a band lesson or something). Now kids have phones and high school kids have cars; back then we'd just have to sit and wait. And if the janitor got done before my mom remembered, we'd have to sit outside. Upper midwest winters notwithstanding. My younger sister and I have tried for years to figure out how any of that could have happened even once, much less more than once. we still don't get it. And we didn't have a housekey because she thought we'd lose it and then someone would find it, know who it belonged to, and rob us.

  41. My brothers and sisters and I were latch key children. We rode the bus home from school and used our key to get in. If my sister forgot her key, my brother would go through the basement window. My father worked afternoons and my mom worked days. We turned out fine. We cooked ourselves food and cleaned up and knew better than to let strangers into the house.

  42. This is my biggest fear with my hubs! He is so absent-minded that this could happen when our kids are school age.

  43. Dear Santa,

Please let this be Goop! I will be a good girl all year..
