First Tyler Perry lent his plane to the family of Whitney Houston so they could fly her body across the country. Now, Tyler Perry has given a recurring role on his show For Better Or Worse, presumably letting Bobbi in line ahead of other worthy actresses who have actually appeared on something more than a reality show. While I am happy that Bobbi Kristina will have something to do during the day, I am equally sure that if Whitney Houston did not die that Bobbi Kristina would not be getting a recurring role on a television show.
I don't think this is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just that she's jumping the line. It's putting her front and center into the Hollywood scene. She already had access to it - now she'll be an active participant.
ReplyDeleteTyler, I know that you mean well, but this is crazy. If she hasn't done so already, this girl will done lose her mind.
I'd give him more credit if he'd offer to pay for her college education, not this.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather he pay her college tuition too, but at least from what I've heard (don't know what's true), he seems like a decent guy and he's not a bad choice of someone to take her under his wing. She could be vunerable to being used by many people now, and if he protects her from that (assuming his image is true), good for him.

ReplyDeleteHere's the deal. They can cast who ever they want, it's their show. Watch it or don't watch it. Betcha you wouldn't listen to an amateur tell you how to try a case, likewise, leave the casting to the pros.

ReplyDeleteAll of his shows are filmed in ATL and this may be a good thing for her. I think he considers himself her God-Father and will watch over her. She could use a good influence right now.

Look how many well meaning actresses dropped out of college Emma Roberts, Emma Watson to go back to making movies. It is just easier and more fun.
A smarter thing would have been to teach her some behind-the-camera skill, like doing sound editing or video FX.
ReplyDeleteA lot of my friends went to film school, and the ones that technical stuff are now employed and happy. The actors are all broke and unemployed.
Nevertheless, giving her something to do right now is a great act of love. Don't watch the show, so I won't have to deal with her amateur acting.
Maybe this is her way of showing Cissy she is trying to be responsible. Since te she technically she doesn't even get a piece of her mother's estate until she is 21. Cissy, her Aunt & Uncle hold the purse strings over her head. Funny, haven't seen any pictures with her and her brother/lover lately.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that Tyler is giving her a job so that she can be productive and do something constructive with her life, but I just wonder if it's too soon. I hope Bobbi Kristina is getting some counseling to help with her issues and the death of her mom.

ReplyDeleteConsidering the amount of abuse Tyler Perry has survived in his life, I want to view this as a good thing. If this puts her closer to him where he can keep an eye on her, it might help her in the long run. But if he's not around the set when she's shooting because he's doing 100 other projects, then she'll probably go wild and piss everybody off. Who knows for sure, guess we'll have to wait and see.

Look at what she obviously went through as a kid, and to all of the responses of "millions of people go through a similar childhood and don't have $$$. Blah, blah, blah" Did you go through one like it? And if you did, bravo for you that you were instantly perfection at 18 and able to overcome the compulsion and enablers that your parents couldn't. If I see one more silly, petty comment about the gap in her teeth...You complaining beauty queens (because you just must be) will then applaud some "real-looking" actress that you like for not going under the knife. Damn! Do something better for your self-esteem, than knock someone for a physical trait. And no, something as "harmless" as an insert in her gap isn't something she should do. Thank God, someone instilled that bit of self-love into the girl!

This is not what this under educated, talentless and not so nice looking girl needs. She will get crucified in the press. I dont Whitneys estate has much money to give her. Other posters are right; teach her a skill so she can make a living.

ReplyDeleteHey Mr. Perry....I am and have been unemployed for some time now and make myself sick wondering how I'm going to pay the rent, so could you give me a job as well? I've just as much experience as she does, unfortunately neither of my parents or immediate family are/were millionaires, I hope that doesn't affect my chances. Oh, and I've seen your TV shows, and with all due respect, my lack of experience will not affect the quality of them AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteActually in France the gap in the teeth is considered quite lucky if I have that right. I think the concern as some one pointed out earlier, should be her long term plan for a solid "career". TP seems like his heart is in the right place. Hopefully with constant work she will get it together and thrive. That's my wish anyway.
