JK Rowling Writing New Book - For Adults

JK Rowling is getting paid $8M for her next novel and it is not about Harry Potter or anyone in Harry Potter. Ostensibly it is for adults, but I think adults made up about half her Harry Potter readers so I think it is unfair to say those books were for kids. Would you read a 7 year old Deathly Hallows? I don't think so. No one knows what the book will be about and I do wonder whether it will be any good, but at least she did not just give up on writing like so many authors who get one great book or series out of themselves and then just go into hiding because they can't write anymore.

  1. I loved Harry Potter, but I don't think she's a very good writer.

  2. She is not an adult themed writer. If she was any good then it would be reflected in the HP books. She is a genius when compared to whoever wrote the Left Behind series though.

  4. I am excited about this. Wonder if it will be a series.
@.robert-I agree with you. I liked the first 3 in that series and then it just went bad.

  6. Makes sense...all the kid Potter readers are adults now so I'm sure she'll get some readers

  7. My niece and nephew, and even my friends kids aren't allowed to watch the Harry Potter movies past the first one. the 2nd was too violent and too scary for children, and it started getting really dark by the 3 or 4th book. The Harry Potter books are definitely NOT for children. They're for teens and up if you ask me.

  8. I also disagree that JK Rowling HP series went bad after the 3rd book. On the contrary...I think she's brilliant and was able to take incidents from the first books and integrate them into the later books. Brilliant and genius.

  9. Loved the HP books and movies too! I enjoy her story and am glad she kept the licensing rights, I'll be interested in what she writes this time.

  10. She will definitely get all of the young adults who grew up with the HP books. My daughter called from college to tell me about this. She can't wait.

  11. I just want to say, so people know, that "Rowling" rhymes with "bowling" not with "howling." I cringe every time a fan says it wrong.

  12. @crila be wary of talking down to children. Be aware of tHe difference between frightening them and introducing them to darker themes. Either way they'll turn out fine but we all enjoyed scary stories as kids!

  13. It's my understanding that she has been writing adult themed books for years, she just never tried getting them published because no one wanted to even THINK of her concentrating on anything but HP

  15. It seems to me that I absolutely don't follow the news because of my studies. I read all the Harry Potter books and it would be interesting for me to read Rowling's new works, so now I will try to find out what kind of book it is. I wonder how well people can write! I am constantly ordering my essays from the writing service after reading essaypro reviews. Their essays are simply beautiful and I know for sure that I could never write the same.
