Jane Carrey Eliminated From American Idol

Well, that was fast. After all the hype we had to listen to about Jim Carrey's daughter Jane making it to Hollywood on American Idol, she was eliminated the very first day of Hollywood. I actually watched it last night because I have given up on watching auditions and just watch Hollywood week episodes to learn who everyone is. I really thought Jane Carrey would move along a little further just for the sake of some ratings if nothing else.

  1. Don't watch the show...it got old years ago. But I did see/hear about Jim's kid auditioning and saw a video of it. She can't sing. Could be why she was eliminated. Reminds me of Taylor Swift. She can't sing either.

  2. That's because her voice isn't that great. She only made it the first time, because she's Jim Carrey's daughter, if it were a nobody, she wouldn't have gotten an audition. She doesn't have a horrible voice, it's just not strong enough or even close to Idol material.

  4. Yeah, she's not talented but she has always dreamed of being a singer. Jim Carrey was talking about it back when she was kid. He said she was going to be a jazz singer.

  5. She's not that talented, and the show's production staff handled her involvement badly and got them some nasty PR (she was pushed to the front of the line and didn't have to be pre-screened like regular contestants.) Better to get her outta there.

  6. She chose badly song wise, and compared to others this year her voice just was not that good. Better to cut her loose than prolong the agony.

  7. I was surprised they cut her so soon. Not because of her voice, which was weak, but because of her name.

    Go judges!

A couple of their other choices had me doing the old head scratch, but that one I am totally on board with.

  8. The Carrey name isn't what it used to be. I doubt Jim himself would garner high ratings these days.
