Erykah Badu Malaysia Concerts Canceled
I hope Erykah Badu was not counting on the concert revenue from her Malaysia concerts for her bills because she will not be getting anything from them. The government has canceled her upcoming shows there because Erykah has a tattoo of the word Allah in Arabic. That is a big no no. She probably could have got away with it but she recently posted photos of the tattoo and then the biggest newspaper in the country posted the photo which caused a bunch of outrage on both sides of the issue with the government saying Erykah Badu was threatening national security. So, basically just your average day in Erykah's life. Walk naked through where Kennedy was shot. Anger Muslims by showing off your Allah body art. Tomorrow she will probably swaddle herself in furs and walk through a PETA convention.

ReplyDeleteshe probably will walk through a PETA convention with fur.....she is a rebel!
ReplyDeleteRebel or attention seeker?
ReplyDeleteHey, at least it's not a nipple slip or an awkward leg.
That's Baduism!
ReplyDeleteLuv her music!
ReplyDeleteShe better be careful. Some freak might try to kill her kids now.
ReplyDeleteI think the Malaysian govt is in the wrong for disallowing freedom of expression here more so than Erykah Badu having an innocuous tat.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is Allah and yes, she is obviously a little slow in regards to following P.C. standards of behavior BUT Im never gonna be on the side whose govt keeps such a tight reign on it's people's freedom of choice. Eff that.
Best concert ever was Badu at Hollywood Bowl like 10 years ago....damn, I love that woman.
ReplyDeletehaha @ Cheryl
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that she wasn't allowed to perform. I guess lesson learned?
ReplyDeleteShe wants so badly to be cool, but she pushes too far and comes out on the douche side of the fence.
ReplyDeleteI guess for this one she earns Nicki Minaj's label of "you're a stupid ho."
ReplyDeleteif i were famous i'd never even bother with Malaysia. F-ck em and their "No! no no no!" attitude. I'll make my money in Japan/Europe thanks.
ReplyDeleteI guess I need to do some googling, but I don't get what the big deal is about. So frustrated with religions trying to rule everyone. Isn't a personal relationship you have with whatever spiritual hoo-ha you believe in?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of hers, and I've heard she's quite the biatch, but ITA with Jasmine. Team Badu all the way.
