Elizabeth Smart is one savvy and smart person. She knew there would be a media swarm around her wedding so she moved it. She told everyone it was going to be in Utah in the summer and then moved it to Hawaii in February and was given privacy and a media free day. Well, she did tell People because they don't really count as media. They are more like a PR service that has somehow convinced people to shell out $5 a week for press releases. Congratulations to her and hopefully she can live life without a lot of interference and the next time we will see her is when Kneepads buys her baby photos.

Elizabeth Smart Gets Married In Hawaii
Elizabeth Smart is one savvy and smart person. She knew there would be a media swarm around her wedding so she moved it. She told everyone it was going to be in Utah in the summer and then moved it to Hawaii in February and was given privacy and a media free day. Well, she did tell People because they don't really count as media. They are more like a PR service that has somehow convinced people to shell out $5 a week for press releases. Congratulations to her and hopefully she can live life without a lot of interference and the next time we will see her is when Kneepads buys her baby photos.
That woman has STRENGTH.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a very happy future
You have to play with the cards you're dealt, so good for her. She seems to be moving on with her life.
ReplyDeleteBlessing to her and her husband on their marriage. She has already been through hell, now it is time to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing....I hope People paid big...
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your new husband the very best..
good for her for doing things on her own terms. After how she shut down Nancy Grace live on air. I think People treats her with the respect she deserves and hey, a nice chuck of change only helps her future with her husband.
ReplyDeleteNice to see such a tragic story have a happy ending.
Yes nice ending to a terrible ordeal....hope he's worthy of her & NOT MORMON!!
ReplyDeleteNow on to snarkdom. That's an awful pix of her. She looks 45 yrs old in it.
Good for her.
ReplyDeleteHappy for her!
ReplyDeleteI hope this woman has nothing but happiness in her life until she dies at a very old age.
ReplyDeleteGod bless them.
ReplyDeleteI'm with parissucksliterally. Many blessings to her.
ReplyDeleteShe's awesome, without a doubt, but ITA with Bitch Next Door, she does look 45 in that photo. And it's not like it's her fault, just bad lighting, bad angle and bad on Enty for posting that one instead of the thousands of pretty photos of her.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I remember when I heard that she'd been found...for some reason, that made me happier than just about any news story I can recall. I wish her the best.
ReplyDeleteBitch Next Door, I thought this was Calista Gingrich at first.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of how she looks, Elizabeth Smart has come through everything like a star. I hope she and her husband have a happy life together.
Good for her, smart move to get married in Hawaii on the very weekend the media and tabloids are busy with Whitney's funeral.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Elizabeth's been thru HELL and back. As such, i worry about her future mental health because it seemed like she bounced back too quickly. Hope she has a good therapist (non-Momon) on speed dial.
ReplyDeleteGiven what she's been through, she's entitled to look 45. Poor woman, I hope she lightens up on the makeup and starts looking her age soon. Much happiness to you and your new husband, Elizabeth. You certainly deserve it.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just the makeup, it's the pearls and the politician's wife's blazer. The girl is as young or younger than Lindsay Lohan (which doesn't really help but still),
ReplyDeleteDoes that last sentence mean she is already pregnant or was Enty 'just sayin'?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to her & her husband.
I won't criticize her looks or attire. After what she went through she is entitled to wear whatever she feels makes her happiest. The conservative look works for her.
ReplyDeleteDixie, I think Enty's just making the assumption that at some point Elizabeth and her husband will want to have kids, and when that time comes, Kneepads would want the photos.
ReplyDeleteMazel tov, Elizabeth--here's wishing you a wonderful life!
Good for her. I wish her the best.
ReplyDeleteNot to be rude, so pls bare with me ... but when ES passes away, say 80 yrs from now, I pray that she has as big as a funeral that Whitney had because in my eyes, ES truely deserves to be on a pedastil. Congrats to the newlyweds.
ReplyDelete@ The Bitch Next Door, So you hate Mormons, why dont you get together with people that hate Jews and form a hate group.
ReplyDelete^I don't think anybody needs to form any hate groups - Westboro Baptist has one big enough to cover ALL forms of hatred.
ReplyDelete@Robin - I thought so but I'm always looking for a veiled blind. ;0]
She's wearing far too much makeup in this shot, and it looks as if this picture was taken in the glare natural sunlight -- two factors that can dramatically age anybody. She's naturally a very lovely girl, and I agree that Enty could have probably found a more flattering picture.
ReplyDeleteAnd who gives a shit if she married a fellow Mormon? She probably *did*, considering how she was raised in the church, but good for her for being able to actually have a trusting relationship with ANY man. She endured a legitimate nightmare, STILL has to deal with the nosy media, and is braver than most of us can even imagine. I hope the rest of her life is blissfully boring and uneventful, honestly.
If there's anyone in this world who deserves this it's her.. I can't stand organized religion but in this case I don't care..
ReplyDeleteThank you for simply calling her "Elizabeth Smart" in your heading. I am tired of seeing her always called "Rape Victim Elizabeth Smart" or "Kidnap Victim Elizabeth Smart." I wish the media would just call her by her name or, at this point, just call her "Survivor, Elizabeth Smart" or "Advocate, Elizabeth Smart." We know who she is.
ReplyDeleteI hope she is having a happy life. She deserves it.
Smart met her now-husband while the two were on their missions for the LDS Church. I'm certainly no fan of that church, but I wish her every happiness in future. (Regarding the heavy makeup, is it possible that we're seeing shots of her taken before/after television appearances?)
ReplyDeleteWow she is not even 30 and looks over 40.
ReplyDelete^Really????
ReplyDeleteGood for her! Hope she has a wonderful, long life.
There are pics out there of her and her (now) husband where they both look incredibly young (she's 24 and he's 22) and so happy. The makeup and that suit were for court appearances. In case contact with the criminals would upset her, being pale or flushed or upset wouldn't be apparent under the inch-thick stage makeup.
ReplyDeleteI suspect they've been engaged for a while (since they returned from their mission in France) and (as Enty pointed out) announced an August wedding to deflect coverage. Good for them, and God bless them.
