Charlotte Church Gets $1M In Phone Hacking Payout
Rupert Murdoch's News Of The World might not be in business anymore, but they are still paying out money. Charlotte Church and her family have accepted $1M in compensation after it was revealed that 33 articles were printed using information from recorded phone calls and hacking into her family's phones.
They were definitely some juicy stories involving her dad having an affair which they published even though they also knew her mom had just tired to commit suicide.
600,000 pounds/$1mil is pocket change to the Murdoch empire. This won't hurt until he has to pay that same amount to EVERYONE who had their phone hacked.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Murdoch not in prison?
ReplyDeleteHe's filthy rich, it'll never get to Murdoch.
ReplyDeleteMurdoch deserves jail time on top of 1m payments to all of his victims.
ReplyDeleteNot that I disagree that they should pay Charlotte, but I hope the family of the murder victim who's voice mail messages (that may have contained vital evidence about her murder) were deleted receives more.
ReplyDeleteYou go Charlotte girrrrrl
ReplyDeleteShe was my neighbour in Cardiff, and there were constantly paparazzi staked out near her house, especially when she started dating rugby star, Gavin Henson.
