Alan Scott Gave Up $1B A Year
You probably don't know who Alan Scott is but every celebrity in the world and every person who wants to look young probably owes the guy a debt of gratitude. Back in 1989, Alan Scott developed Botox. In 1991 he sold it to Allergen for just $4.5M. Financial people have estimated that if he had held on to the secret he would probably be making $1B a year from his invention. He is not the person though who first noticed it made people look young. That was actually not discovered until 1992 when a Canadian doctor noticed people were losing their frown lines after being injected and published a study.
Guy looks a bit old, no? You can live very well on $4.5m for the remainder of your life, no matter how old you are. Good for him. I would want to get out and have a life, what little would be left after working for what appears to be a pretty long time.
ReplyDeleteyes he looks old, but man, his forehead looks like he's been using the botox.
ReplyDeleteWow. What a selfless and important contribution this man has made to society.

There are some good things about botox. My husband has a small fistula in his throat. The MD is planning on giving him a small injection of botox into the fistula which would make the irritation go away. A lot easier than surgery which is the only other option.
ReplyDeleteThank you for turning people into zombies Mr. Scott
ReplyDeletetriple eye roll
my friend got it in 1992 for a spasms in her eye. After it came out as a wrinkle smoother she kept trying to convince the dr. to help her out. He refused. I remember her freaking me out telling me what it actually was.
ReplyDeleteI can tell when someone's hitting up the Botox, which means I know they're aging. So in the end, I don't perceive that you're young. Oh, the irony!
